Chapter 21: Majestic
[Main Quest #01- The path of Expertise has ended]
[Prepare for your appraisal]
'What the fuck... What appraisal? when this whole thing transforms into an exam. What the fuck is going on at this point in time.'
he waited for some for something to show up, but nothing of that sort happened..
"So, what did I get?" he thought, eager to know his result despite his cursing. He ended up so engrossed in this, that even forgot to light the pile of corpses on fire... Who could even blame him for forgetting the task when such news was in front of him?
Holding his breath, he opened his status.
[Evaluating...]
'Ahhh! What is this..? How long is this going to take?' he thinks, wanting to know the result as soon as possible, like a child awaiting his present. His behavior of sudden mood swings can be really scary for someone who meets him for the first time.
One moment he was cursing, and another moment he was waiting like a child...
He put one of his arms on his hip... took a pose like he was looking at a watch in another hand—despite there not being a watch on the other hand... Just to pass the time.
He once again opened his status, but found the same message... that it was still evaluating him... Now his heartbeat started going up, thinking that he had messed up something. It shouldn't take this long... right..? maybe?
It's not like he knows how much it should take.
As he was lost in thought, the cosmos was done with his appraisal... Sending a bombardment of notifications informing him of his result, and almost causing a heart attack.
"What the fuck, why are there so many notifications?" he wondered but was happy nonetheless.
[An orphan who got into prison without any crime and thought this was the end. But something changes, and now he dreams of building a kingdom... But the question remains... Can he turn his illusion into reality?]
[You are the first person to get a title.]
[You are the first person to get a class.]
'Was I?' He doubts it but continues to read.
[First one to get an uncommon class.]
[First one to use one type of magic.]
[First one to use two types of magic.]
He was gobsmacked with the result... He knew he had done something amazing when he had cast the spell... but he did not know that he was the first one to do it.
And still, this wasn't the end, as more such achievements were waiting...
[You have killed hundreds of creatures.]
[You have killed thousands of creatures.]
[You have killed an awakened human of infant rank.]
Even his kill counts were added...
[You were the first one to complete the quest.]
"Ohh!"
"Are you disappointed by the answer?" Coby asked.
"No, there is nothing out there for me to care about. Ohh! I have another question," he said.
"Go on"
"Then exactly how does the class system work?" he asks. This is exactly the question he was waiting to ask. As the answer can change the course of action.
"If you want to know the inner workings of the cosmos. Then I'm sorry, as even I don't know how it works," he said.
Dhruv was disappointed and was about to ask something else. But Coby cut him off and said.
"...But if you want to know what can influence the class option, that's what I can tell you."
Dhruv nodded while smiling from ear to ear.
"Creepy!" Coby criticizes his behavior.
"The class option can be influenced by many things, but there are three main things that play an important role.
First, the type of skill you use For example, if you buy a fireball spell and use it continuously, the cosmos will give you 'fire mage' as an evolutionary option on your next upgrade.
The second thing is your environment.
Let's suppose you live in a poisonous environment for long enough.. You can get a class related to poison.
The third, and arguably the most important, is your goal, your motivation, or your purpose within the cosmos.
If you believe hard enough that your goal is to become an excellent mage, your class progress will reflect that. But keep in mind that you should follow it wholeheartedly, as nothing is hidden from the cosmos.
Anything else"
"How many quests are there?"
"That I can't tell you," Coby answered.
Dhruv sighs! So there are questions he can't answer despite knowing them; does that mean there is someone above him?
"I think my time is up..."
"So early?"
"It is what it is. But before I leave, I would like to give you some friendly advice. The true horror of the cosmos will begin from here and out. So, Prepare as much as you can.."
With those warnings said, he snaps his finger and disappears into nothingness.
'What horror?'
Again, he left him with more questions than he had started with. But life is exactly like this, full of uncertainty.
"Ohhh! Shit, I didn't even ask him, What is an exclusive attribute?"
But he quickly forgets about that when his eyes fall on the shiny diamond box revolving on his arm.
"Let's open this bad boy first..."
