Chapter 6
A little kid wearing white tattered clothes rushed out of the house.
Immediately after, that pair of big eyes saw Pei Xin being held up. The surprise on his face turned into anger. He could tell that Lu Li was the leader and shouted at him, “You’re a bad guy! Let go of my mother! Otherwise, I’ll call the police to arrest you.”
Lu Li looked at the boy standing opposite him with a complicated expression. For some reason, the boy looked familiar. His determined eyes made Lu Li feel guilty and scared.
He shook his head and threw away the inexplicable emotions. He turned to look at Pei Xin. “Is this the b*stard child you gave birth to? Do you think he deserves a painless death?”
As he spoke, he extended his hand towards the little kid’s neck.
Ling Lin knew that he was a bad guy. He opened his mouth and bit Lu Li’s hand hard. Lu Li couldn’t help but gasp at the sharp teeth and let go of his grip.
Lu Li looked at the teeth marks and blood on his hand. He gritted his teeth and prepared to attack.
Seeing this, Pei Xin somehow got the strength to struggle free from the bodyguard’s hands. She pushed Lu Li, who was unprepared, and then protected her son.
“You’re dead meat!” Lu Li was furious. “Since you want to protect this b*stard, you both can die together!”
“If you touch my son again, I won’t sign the donation agreement even if it means death!” Pei Xin stared at Lu Li with bloodshot eyes.
Ling Lin was her soft spot and also the reason for living.
“If you want me to sign it, make them stop everything. Let my brother and son go, then I’ll go with you.”
Ever since Pei Xin came out of prison, she’s been acting as timid as a mouse. Lu Li didn’t expect her to find the strength to stand up for her family.
Thinking of his ultimate goal, Lu Li signaled for the bodyguard to stop. “I won’t touch him again, but in order to prevent you from running away, this b*stard must go with you.”
Pei Xin hesitated, but when she saw Ling Lin covered in wounds, she knew that she had no ability to resist. She could only nod in agreement.
Pei Xin carried Ling Lin in Lu Li’s car and went all the way to the Lu family’s villa.
She had been here before, but that was when she was an honored guest. Now, she was being held captive as a prisoner.
The car stopped steadily in front of the door. The bodyguard opened the door and roughly dragged Pei Xin and Ling Lin out, pushing them into the villa.
“Mr. Lu, I can’t help but notice that this child looks a little like your father!” The driver said to Lu Li as he looked at Pei Xin’s quiet figure. In his heart, he knew that Pei Xin was a good child.
“Shut up! That’s a b*stard’s son!” After the driver said something, Lu Li finally understood why he was so afraid of the child’s eyes. Those cold eyes reminded him of his father and brother.
However, he knew that they had never touched Pei Xin. The Lu family would never do so. This was just a coincidence.
Pei Xin’s health had not recovered yet. She was pushed to the brink by the bodyguards and her footsteps were starting to become unsteady. Ling Lin looked at his mother’s thin body and could not help but feel sorry for her. He stopped and refused to walk anymore. He glared at the bodyguards behind him. “You’re not allowed to push my mother like that!”
“Listen here you little sh*t, don’t cause trouble for me. Hurry up and leave!” The Lu family’s bodyguards were unfazed. Even to children, they were still fierce and emotionless.
“I’m not leaving. I want to go home. You’re all bad people. This means this house is full of bad people.” Children were sensitive to these kinds of things. He knew very well that these people wanted to hurt his mother. He did not want to stay here with his mother.
So even if Pei Xin comforted him softly, he still refused to take any step further.
“Do you think I’ll hold back because you’re a child?” These bodyguards knew that Lu Li hated this kid, so they were eager to show off their loyalty.
“Don’t you dare touch my son!” Pei Xin shielded Ling Lin behind her.
“What’s all this commotion about!”
Suddenly, a deep and cold voice came from the second floor, scaring the bodyguards into submission. “I-I’m sorry, Mr. Lu. We didn’t mean to cause trouble!”
The bodyguards had followed Lu Li out for the whole day, and Lu Huai was not often home, so they dared to speak loudly. After all, they all knew that Lu Huai hated noise so they took this chance to be rowdy.
Lu Li had just walked over and saw Lu Huai at the corner of the garden corridor. He felt guilty and scared, “Oh, why are you home?”
