Chapter 118 - Chapter 118. Jin Li Falls

Wang Chun was forcefully pulled up by the correctional officer, wanting to take her away.

Wang Chun panicked. Looking at the dispirited Ding Wan, she anxiously shouted, “Old Ding! Old Ding, pull yourself together! What should we do?!” Her hands were tightly holding onto the chair, unwilling to leave.

While the correctional officer pulled Wang Chun, Ding Wan raised his head and stared at Wang Chun. He silently mouthed, “Shut your mouth tight!”

Wang Chun looked at Ding Wan with tears streaming down her face. She nodded her head expectantly but, in the end, was still dragged away.

Ding Wan and Wang Chun were under the strict supervision of the police. There was no way they could escape.

Jin Li was also caught.

At first, Jin Li was still arrogant and defiant. He shouted, “How dare you treat me like this! Don’t you know who I am? I want to see Chief Li! I won’t leave until I see him!”

The policeman in charge of arresting him snorted. “Chief Li? He has been suspended for investigation. You can go to the police station to see him!”

Jin Li could not believe it. He had been doing whatever he wanted for so many years precisely because of the umbrella. But now, the umbrella was being investigated.

Jin Li struggled with all his might. “Where are my bodyguards? What are they doing? I paid you guys to do this, and you’re just going to watch me get arrested?”

The bodyguards stood at the side obediently. The other police officers controlled them with batons, and no one dared to act rashly.

What a joke, they were indeed taking Jin Li’s money, but in front of the police officers, who dared to challenge the law?

Usually, lawlessness was because there was no fear, but didn’t they hear that Chief Li had been suspended from duty for investigation? Now that Jin Li could not protect himself, who would work for him?

Jin Li was huge, but they were all chubby. In just a few moments, he was pinned to the ground by a few police officers. His hands were behind his back, and he was handcuffed.

Ding Yuan hid in a corner. She was both afraid and angry. Her whole body was trembling.

What was going on? Was Jin Li going to be arrested?

She finally made up her mind to sell herself for glory. After accompanying Jin Li in the room for so long, no matter how humiliated and painful it was, she gritted her teeth and endured it. However, the police officers barged in and wanted to take Jin Li away.

What about the torture that she had endured for the past two days? She had thought that by relying on Jin Li, she could use his power to climb up the ranks in the future and get back what Ding Shan owed her. But now, they were telling her that Jin Li would fall.

1

Why did they do this to her? She had given up everything! Why did she still fail?

Ding Yuan hugged herself tightly and gritted her teeth.

It was all over now. There was nothing left. She had served Jin Li for nothing. Before she could ask for any benefits, everything was gone!

Why was it that Ding Shan was so lucky to gain everyone’s favor, and all her efforts were in vain? She didn’t want to be innocent anymore. She didn’t want to lose face anymore. She just wanted a chance to climb the ranks. Why was it so difficult?

Ding Yuan wanted to cry, but no tears came out. She curled up into a ball like a broken doll without a soul.

The police subdued Jin Li and the bodyguards and prepared to go back for interrogation. Then, they looked at Ding Yuan from afar.

Ding Yuan had previously reported that Ding Shan had abused her, and this matter had also caused a stir. The police also recognized her face.

However, they didn’t expect her to be mixed up with Jin Li. When they entered the house, the two of them were particularly intimate. Could it be that they persuaded Jin Li to come out and bail her and her parents out because of the affair with Jin Li?

The police officer sighed. Facing such a fragile Ding Yuan, he was afraid of provoking her, so he could only try to speak as calmly as possible, “Do you still need us to use force to subdue you? I’ll give you some time to wear your clothes and go with us.”

Ding Yuan was stunned. Her eyes were filled with tears as she looked at the police officer with a bitter smile, “Go back? Go back to where? I’ve been played for so long by others for nothing, like a fool. Do you also see me as a joke? Since I’m like this, why don’t you just let me die?” After saying that, she suddenly jumped up like a crazy person and was about to jump out of the window.

A police officer was quick-witted. He hugged Ding Yuan, who wanted to die and threw her back onto the bed. “Be more honest! You have to admit your mistakes! You’re so young. Why don’t you go on the right path? What’s the use of seeking death now?”

Ding Yuan’s clothes were disheveled, and she was lying on the bed, panting. She was so crazy that she didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, “I hate Ding Shan! I can’t wait for her to die! In this life, it’s either her or me! I’d rather die if I didn’t turn over under her feet!”
