[The Blood Moon was high.

This desolate town was setting off an unprecedented festival of death.

The archbishop was nailed to a cross by blood-slicked silverware, pained screams residing throughout the entire hall.

“Auuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! God—God will punish you!”

“Jiejiejie.”

“The gods are dead—” Morris sighed and  sneered loudly in the hall full of keening.

The blond man stood in front of the archbishop named Emily, with blue eyes saturated in pure pleasure.

Under the stage, countless believers were sinking into their own sinful nightmares and beginning to kill each other.

The whole villa was stained with crimson.

In just a moment, it had become a sea of corpses and ruby lifesource.

Karina slashed the rope that tied her wrists together with a dagger that fell to the ground, and then looked at the tragic situation in the hall with a shocked expression, wondering what happened.

Her memory had stagnated the moment she got her blood forcefully drawn.

“God… will support me… protect, the devil will fall into hell…” Her hair was messy, but Emily, who was in the process of being crucified, no longer looked at the demon in front of her and continued chanting mantras.

She would believe that her god would bear the pain with her.

Looking at his stubborn mother, Morris tilted his head and smiled, watching the blood that sprayed a second later.

The cross was torn in half, the sinful crimson spreading over the entire platform.

The chanting halted as a tormented Emily wailed in fury.

Karina looked at Emily, who was tied to the cross and screaming, and the charred man who stood in front of her, but felt a fear rising from the deepest part of her heart that petrified her whole body.

Where was she now?

Is it a dream—or reality?

Morris turned her head and looked at the horrified blonde girl with an honest smirk.

“Shh—the judgement has begun.”

This will be a grand and never-ending nightmare. 】

——From《Nightmare》

“Ugh!”

Busy looking for a place to hide, Zhou Yu accidentally tilted his recently sprained foot, and immediately felt pain rise into his entire body, sweat rising on his forehead.

But this was all bearable.

Zhou Yu saw the person holding a firearm approaching and figured that he didn’t have the time to worry about his injuries. He picked up a branch from the ground with his hand and utilized it like a cane.

He needed to get to the house.

The current situation was very unfavorable for him, and Zhou Yu was afraid that staying here would only spell his end.

“Cawcawcaw!!!” The crow’s cries resounded throughout the street.

Zhou Yu’s breathing soon became sluggish and he jerked his head in the direction of the noise.

The sight of the crow falling to the ground caused the youth’s hands to clench white over the twig he was holding.

Dead.

The gift Morris left him was dead.

But in such a dangerous situation, Zhou Yu had no time to grieve.

He gritted his teeth, dragged his numb leg, and trudged into his home.

After closing the door, Zhou Yu endured the pain, took out the first-aid box next to the entrance, and shuffled in the bathroom to bandage himself.

After laboriously tearing at the fabric on his trousers for bandages, Zhou Yu looked at the purple lump on the ankle and grimaced.

Now that the refrigerator was completely dead, which meant no ice for a compress, the best Zhou Yu could do was run in some herbal medicine.

He wasn’t a doctor, the way to heal wounds like this were unknown to him, especially this type of sprain—he just hoped none of his bones were broken.

Wrapping the wound with gauze alleviated some of the pain in his foot, and only then did the stinging in his forehead register to his neurons.

This house is really rundown.

His forehead had been sliced open a bit at some point in the last few minutes.

Zhou Yu looked at the blood on the palm of his hand, then took out the remaining gauze and then pressed it against his forehead to staunch the flow.

Boom—

The roar of another explosion could be heard . This time it was very close, nearly just on the other side of the wall. The wave was so loud that Zhou Yu went a bit deaf again.

It appears that person shot directly at the house.

Zhou Yu blinked, trying to stay conscious.

Dizzy due to blood loss and impact reverberations, all he could hear was the man enter the small building.

The charcoal-like smoke of the burning house slowly filled the whole area.

Zhou Yu stood up and leaned next to the door while waiting for the murderer.

Dagger primed, he was ready to fight for his life.

Regardless of who was coming, with this type of merciless killing technique, his future wasn’t looking great.

But he didn’t want to die. Morris hadn’t returned yet, how could he just condone his fate?

The noxious smoke of burning trash and wood slipped through the gap under the door, and the toxic miasma caused his consciousness to shift.

He quickly soaked a towel and pressed it against his face to try and keep the fumes out of his lungs.

Even though he thought it was useless, as it was too late, the man had discovered his hiding place.

Tap—tap—

Footsteps stopped in front of the bathroom.

Zhou Yu’s brow furrowed, he vigilantly glowered at the door in front of him, the sharp knife glinting in his hand.

Bang—

Another gunshot sounded and the bathroom door shattered into pieces.

Zhou Yu was knocked prone by the force.

“Kahk!! Damn!” How many fucking bullets does this guy have!

And what exactly is this gun? How is it so efficient?!

Guns weren’t uncommon in this small town, but Zhou Yu had never seen such a powerful firearm.

That extraordinary power made trying to put up a fight near impossible.

A tall figure appeared at in the doorway, cold eyes filled with killing intent.

“Your name is Zhou Yu, right?”

The black muzzle tilted towards the weak-looking, black-haired teenager on the ground.

Warren’s finger tapped on the barrel, and his voice was so chilling that it was practically a chunk of ice.

“Yes.” The dark-haired and green-eyed boy raised his head and answered blankly.

He knew that if he didn’t answer, the guy really would pull the trigger.

Warren frowned slightly as he scanned the cannon fodder who was acting very different from the original plot.

He stored the laser gun in his hand and replaced it with an anesthesia injector.

“Unhh!!!!”

Zhou Yu only saw another gun appear in the big man’s hand before he felt his neck turn numb and he sank into darkness.

Bam—

There was a huge explosion in the house, if there were any flammable materials inside, the laser beam from earlier ignited them and set the whole shack on fire.

Warren turned his back to the blaze and flung the second, tightly bound target into the truck and locked it.

He looked down at the timer on his watch.

It’s almost one o’clock.

He needed to hurry up.

Noon.

An assembly was being held in the quiet villa.

A middle-aged woman with a compassionate face sat on the main seat and announced, “Dear people, I have decided to hold a ceremony to worship the gods tonight!”

The believers sitting at the long table were in an uproar.

“What? But what about that demon? My daughter can’t wake up because of it!”

A man in a suit and leather shoes stood up and looked at the woman on the raised dais with some indignation.

Emily smiled and assured him, “Don’t worry, your daughter Jenny will be saved tonight. The blood of the Son will save her.”

The suited man suspiciously inquired: “Son? Where’s the Son?”

“Archbishop, you haven’t told us the truth. What’s going on with the devil? We’re trapped by it. Your necklace can protect us for a bit, but can we really rely on it for a lifetime? “

Another believer questioned the lady, while the remaining believers looked silently at the person sitting in the seat of power.

Due to the hell that broke out the last time they held a sacrificial ritual, the group had a bit of trauma.

In addition, since then, they’d been sinking into a mire of nightmares, and the deep-seated fear had even shaken some of their faith.

The smile on Emily’s face froze before recovering and insisting, “Of course not, after this sacrifice, the devil will disappear forever, and we will never have to worry about it again.”

“As for the Son, I found him to be the most suitable person.

The best friend of her foul son. Who else could be more perfect?

“His blood will way away the demon’s curse, and by then, everything will come to an end.”

“Friends, don’t be confused by that thing’s tricks. You are blessed by the Lord. I hope that you will not let them down.

Emily displayed a sorrowful demeanor, bowing her head in prayer.

Seeing this scene, several people who’d nearly strayed from their path felt ashamed of themselves.

A faint light flashed in Emily’s lowered eyes, and then said, “Tonight will be the time of deliverance.”

“Everything will be finally judged!”

Al, a white-haired man sitting in the corner, expressionlessly clenched the pen that he had palmed earlier.

The plot keeps changing, and the direction doesn’t bode well.

“Hmm-will it?” A maliciously hoarse voice suddenly echoed into the spacious meeting room.

“Then I’m going to start my trial now, so that it doesn’t get in the way of the one you have planned for this evening—Jiejiejiejie!”

The wanton and frantic laughter echoed over the room and penetrated into the hearts of the terrified commune.

“How is this possible…” Al accidentally snapped the pen in his grip in half, the incredible horror on his face clear as day.

Emily’s necklace hasn’t been contaminated by the heroine’s blood; Morris should still be too afraid to confront the sect!

He broke in so easily, it seems that Morris is stronger than he was in the original plot …

Al sat down in his seat with his head bowed so that one couldn’t view his face clearly, but a pair of firmly clenched hands showed his violently stormy emotions.

He felt that this mission was probably even more impossible now.

“Before the judgement, play a game with me~” Morris teased, accompanied by people’s screams.

“No!-Let us out of here!” An attendee in full leather suit desperately slapped at the door of the room.

However, the entrance to the room, which hadn’t been locked beforehand, seemed have been welded to death, no matter how he maneuvered it, the man couldn’t make it budge at all

“Eh, it seems like someone wants to quit the proceedings halfway?”

Morris having asked this with a startled tone, other panicky believers immediately ram to the door, hoping to be allowed exemption from the “game.”

Slam-and then a bang.

The man hitting the door was gone, leaving only a puddle of ground meat in his place, blood splashing onto the people who had gathered around him.

“Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!”

“Help! Heeelp! Come on!”

“Hurry! Call the police! Quickly!”

The screams rang through the conference room, making people feel that their eardrums were tingling, but no one could control their instincts in such situations.

Everyone was screaming, hoping to release their inner fears in this way.

“Jiejiejie~ you can’t quit, this is a game of life and death, right? Mother.”

Emily, who had been sitting silently in prayer on the raised chair, opened her eyes and cried out, “Everyone, don’t be fooled by the demon! We are believers of God! It can’t hurt us!”

The group of people that had become a mosh pit gradually quieted down, all looking at the calm archbishop.

“As long as we work together, we won’t get hurt–” Emily declared, before lifting the tightly held necklace, and like countless times in the past, the necklace began to shine with a strangely black luster.

Only this time, it was slightly different.

A man with burn scars appeared behind Emily, and his sharp claws ripped into her chest and abdomen.

“Ah !!!!- You can’t… possibly…” Emily widened her bloodshot eyes with an incredulous expression.

The black ghost’s hand clasped Emily’s neck, so she could no longer make poisonous statements.

The necklace in her hand also fell to the ground, the glow no longer there.

Morris’s blue eyes turned to Emily, with a smirk on his face, dark and horrifying.

“My dear mother, you might as well be witness to the games and punishments.”

“Well, where’s a good place for you to watch?” Morris looked at the fear in the eyes of this formerly indifferent woman, and his smile became even more mad. “You’d have a better view there. Jiejie—— “

Morris glanced at the erected cross on the wall directly opposite the conference room.

The next second, Emily teleported onto it.

Her hands and feet were driven through with silver nails in the posture of a sacrifice. Blood was flowing constantly, pooling just under the cross.

Her abdomen was also pierced open by silverware, exposing her crimson viscera and internal organs.

“So, the witness is ready. Contestants? Are you?” The blond-haired man narrowed his dim blue eyes with a faint grin.

The trembling believers stared at the archbishop hanging on the wall mournfully, spirits on the verge of collapse.
