Chapter 87 : Something Is Wrong

Felox, Gwendolyn, and Nixie gazed at Trinity and the others, their eyes filled with slight confusion.

"Big sis, what's this Dragonskull Dungeon?" Nixie asked Trinity.

Trinity took a deep breath and replied, "The Dragonskull Dungeon is the only Gold Rank Dungeon among the twelve cities around Atmos Forest and is also one of the twenty Gold Rank Dungeons in the Kingdom."

"Wow, a Gold Rank Dungeon!" Nixie exclaimed, her mouth hanging open.

"Only Tier 6-9 Mana Cultivators are allowed to explore Gold Rank Dungeons because they are extremely dangerous. Even powerful Mana Cultivators can be killed in Gold Rank Dungeons, the mortality rate is too high. But many still risk their lives to raid these dungeons because of the huge amount of resources and treasures they hold," Trinity explained.

She looked around and continued, "The resources and treasures in Gold Rank Dungeons can help these powerful individuals grow exponentially. Raiding Gold Rank Dungeons may mean risking your life, but the opportunities are worth it, so many Mana Cultivators take the chance."

Felix and the others fell silent as they listened to Trinity's explanation.

"Unfortunately, not just anyone can raid Gold Rank Dungeons," Zephyr added.

"Why?" Felix raised his eyebrows.

"Well, all Gold Rank Dungeons are controlled by the top forces in the Kingdom. The Royal Family owns six out of the twenty Gold Rank Dungeons, while the rest are held by powerful Noble Families.

However, there is one special Gold Rank Dungeon, the Dragonskull Dungeon, which is jointly monopolized by all the powerful Royal Family, Noble Families, and experts in the Kingdom," Zephyr explained with a chuckle.

Felix and the others looked at Zephyr in surprise.

"Why is it that only the Dragonskull Dungeon is shared by all the Royal Family, powerful clans, and powerful experts?" Gwendolyn asked with a calm face.

Zephyr smiled and responded, "After big bro instructed me to investigate what was really going on in Bridgemoor City lately, well I dug a little deeper and found out something suspicious and special about the Dragonskull Dungeon."

"What did you find out?" Bring asked. Felix was also looking at Zephyr, and they all waited for him to continue.

"Well, I found out that there is a pattern about Dragonskull Dungeon. After I investigated a little deeper, I found out that every ten years, it seems all the powerful Noble Families and even the Royal Family come together to raid the Dragonskull Dungeon. Not only that, but during that period, there will be a dungeon break or beast tide," Zephyr explained.

"But what does that have to do with anything special? You said the Dragonskull Dungeon is jointly shared by all of them, so it's natural that they occasionally raid it together," Nixie scratched her head and said.

Zephyr shook his head and said, "Think about it. What is in that dungeon that all the powerful factions in the Kingdom have to put aside their conflicts and interests to raid the Dragonskull Dungeon together?"

Following what Zephyr said, Nixie was taken aback for a moment and sank into deep thought. "Yeah, Zephyr is right. Why would all of them put aside their conflicts and come together to raid a dungeon, especially since this only happens every ten years?" Gwendolyn said with a pondering look.

"And yes, guys, we all know that the powerful factions in the Kingdom don't see eye to eye, and even if they do, it means there is some interest involved. So why would they come together to raid a dungeon? It's not like none of them doesn't have Gold Rank Dungeon under their control, there is something fishy about this" Zephyr said with a suspicious face.

Felix squinted his eyes and replied, "I want you to delve into the history of the Avalonia Kingdom. I need all the information on the historic facts and events that have taken place since the Kingdom was founded. Especially focus on the founding Emperor of the Avalonia Kingdom."

Zephyr was taken aback for a moment, and Trinity and the others were equally surprised. "Big bro, why do you want me to investigate something that happened thousands of years ago?" Zephyr was completely confused.

Felix shook his head. "I believe that looking into the past will help us uncover what's truly wrong with the Avalonia Kingdom. Just focus on the information I gave you."

Although Zephyr was still confused, he accepted the task. "I'm sure the neighboring Kingdoms have noticed what's been happening in the Kingdom every ten years," Felix added.

He looked at Zephyr and the others and cautioned, "During this period, you guys must be extremely careful. Bridgemoor City won't be peaceful for a while. Don't go around provoking others, be cautious."

"Yes, big bro," they all nodded solemnly. They knew that this period in Bridgemoor City wouldn't be easy.

In a few months, there would be dungeon breaks, beast tides, and powerful Mana Cultivators coming to Bridgemoor City. Being careful was essential.

Felix turned to Zephyr and said, "Zephyr, you need to hurry with the investigation. I want to know if my hunch is correct."

"Don't worry, big bro. I'll get right on it," Zephyr nodded seriously.

Meanwhile, in the Netherfrost Clan Estate at the center of Bridgemoor City, Seraphine Netherfrost and her father, Lucas Nether we're engaged in a conversation.

"Seraphine, some experts will be coming to Brigdemoor City tomorrow," Lucas said.

Seraphine's expression shifted slightly, "Is it time already?"

Lucas sighed and nodded, "We only have three months left before Dragonskull Dungeon can be opened."

Seraphine fell silent for a moment before asking, "Father, why can't you just leave Dragonskull Dungeon as it is? We've been suffering losses for years. Can't we just call it quits?"

Lucas looked at Seraphine and shook his head, "It's not that simple. We're all competing to get our hands on the Saint Core. If anyone of us can get it, it's goodbye to the other Noble Families."

"Even if it means sacrificing the lives of thousands of soldiers?" Seraphine asked.

"Yes, even if it means sacrificing the entire Brigdemoor City. As long as we can get that Saint Core, everything else is bullshit," Lucas said coldly with narrowed eyes.

Seraphine was silent as she looked at her father.

Lucas continued, "By now, the other Kingdoms have noticed what's been going on. This dungeon raid is our last chance. If we can get our hands on that Core, there's nothing to fear. But if we fail, Avalonia Kingdom will have to be prepared for war or worse to be destroyed"
