THREE DAYS LATER
-----------------------------------
Felix and the others finally arrived at Bridgemoor City, but what they saw left them utterly stunned. Their eyes widened in disbelief as they took in the scene before them.
"Big bro, are you sure this is Bridgemoor City? Did you take a wrong turn?" Nixie whispered, her voice laced with uncertainty.
"Of course it's Bridgemoor City! But what on earth happened here?" Felix replied, equally perplexed.
"System, are you certain this is Bridgemoor City? You didn't mislead me, did you?" Femic transmitted his question to the system.
[Of course, Host. The system never lies.] The system responded with an unmistakable hint of irritation.
Felix shook his head in disbelief as he surveyed the remnants of what was once a grand city wall.
Now reduced to half its former glory, it was smeared with blood and littered with grotesque body parts of demonic beasts.
Outside the city lay devastation: mountains of corpses scattered across the landscape while soldiers and adventurers worked tirelessly to manage the aftermath.
The air was thick with the stench of death and decay; clearly, a brutal massacre had unfolded during the Beast Tide.
"We need to get back quickly and check on the children," Felix urged urgently, shaking off the horror surrounding them.
Their expressions turned grave as they hurried into Bridgemoor City. What awaited them inside was no better than outside, the streets were a chaotic mess of destruction.
Buildings that once towered proudly now lay in ruins as if ravaged by a nuclear explosion. Corpses were strewn about, limbs and internal organs splattered everywhere alongside those of magical beasts. The sight was truly heart-wrenching.
"What in the world happened while we were away?" Felix asked incredulously, though his mind remained focused on one thing: finding the children.
Worry etched deep lines on their faces as they shared silent glances filled with concern.
In just five minutes, though it felt like an eternity, they reached Edel District.
A wave of relief washed over them when they saw that this area remained untouched by chaos; everything stood intact unlike the outer city.
"It looks like the kids are safe," Zephyr said with a smile breaking through their earlier tension.
They rushed into Edel District towards their mansion without wasting another moment. As they entered, laughter echoed from near the small lake within the mansion, a sound that instantly lifted their spirits.
"Heheheh! Costa! You guys lost!" came the joyful giggles of children playing by the water's edge.
Their hearts settled as they breathed sighs of relief upon seeing familiar faces at play. Stay connected with m-v l|e'-novelhall.net
"Is that Jarvis?" Nixie pointed toward the lake in astonishment.
Felix could hardly believe his eyes either; there was Jarvis—usually so stoic—grinning broadly while engaging with the kids in carefree fun.
"Well, well! Who would have thought the ever-expressionless Jarvis could actually play and laugh? What a wonderful world we live in!" Brixton exclaimed, his voice filled with surprise.
"Ahemm!" .Suddenly, Felix let out a loud cough, interrupting the joyful scene of Jarvis and the children splashing around in the lake. Everyone turned to see where the sound had come from.
"Big brother!" The children shouted, their eyes wide with excitement as they scrambled out of the water and dashed toward the pavilion.
Felix burst into hearty laughter as they flung themselves at him.
"Exactly! That little girl single-handedly took down all three Tier 7 Magical Beasts," Jarvis shrugged nonchalantly. "She also dispatched six Tier 6 beasts and twenty Tier 5 ones, though I didn't keep track of all her kills."
"Hissss!" Nixie gasped as shock filled her eyes along with those of her companions.
"Wait!,you're saying she did all that by herself?" Zephyr asked incredulously.
"Hmmm," Jarvis nodded, his expression unreadable.
Felix couldn't hide his surprise. He knew Seraphine Netherfrost was formidable, but he hadn't anticipated just how overpowered she truly was.
"Damn! This Seraphine is seriously OP! How can anyone be this powerful?" Zephyr exclaimed, frustration evident in his voice.
"Well that little girl is quite good," Jarvis replied with a calm nod.
Zephyr shot Jarvis a skeptical look before shaking his head in with a bitter smile. After all, Jarvis had faced and defeated some of the most powerful beings out there, he had the credentials to make such a claim.
"So, Jarvis," Gwendolyn chimed in, her curiosity piqued. "Why didn't you join the battle?"
Jarvis shrugged nonchalantly. "Those little ants are too weak for me to bother with; I could take them all out with just a glance."
Felix and the others fell silent, taken aback by Jarvis's confidence but shook their heads.
They might not fully grasp his power level, but they were certain he could handle any threat without breaking a sweat.
"Oh! By the way, Jarvis," Felix suddenly interjected, "do you know how to awaken a True Dragon Bloodline?"
"Big bro!" Zephyr and the others turned to Felix in shock. Trinity's eyes widened as she looked at him incredulously.
"Hmmm... awakening a True Dragon Bloodline?" Jarvis raised an eyebrow and focused on Felix before shifting his gaze to Trinity. "So you've finally figured it out?"
"Yeah," Felix confirmed with a nod.
"Wait!,hold on! You already knew?" Zephyr's eyes widened as he stared at Jarvis.
Jarvis smiled knowingly. "Indeed."
"When did you find out?" Trinity pressed eagerly.
"The moment we met that day when you challenged me to a fight," Jarvis said matter-of-factly.
"See? I told you, Jarvis sensed something was off about you!" Felix chuckled from the sidelines.
A collective gasp filled the air as they processed this revelation.
"So can you help me awaken my bloodline?" Trinity asked hopefully, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.
Jarvis shook his head gently. "I can't do that for you; it's something you'll have to achieve on your own. Awakening it is as challenging as ascending into the sky, and your bloodline is no ordinary one; it belongs to a True Dragon. Do you even know what that means? Have you ever seen one?"
Trinity shook her head slowly; aside from that Drake they encountered in Dragonskull Dungeon, she had never laid eyes on a True Dragon before.
"But have you?" Nixie whispered curiously.
Jarvis cast Nixie a sidelong glance and replied coolly, "I've seen one before and even killed one ".
Felix and the others stared at Jarvis, their eyes wide with disbelief.
"Wait, you mean you've actually seen a True Dragon? And killed one too? Wow, keep bragging!" Nixie quipped, rolling her eyes at Jarvis.
