Michael Reyes awoke to the soft morning light streaming through the curtains of his luxurious suite. He stretched, expecting to feel Bridget beside him, but the bed was empty. Frowning, he sat up, glancing around the room. Her absence was unexpected.
He quickly got out of bed, the cool floor beneath his feet jolting him awake. He reached for a robe and slipped it on before heading towards the living room. As he approached, the faint smell of cooking reached his nose, mingling with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee.
There, in the open kitchen area, stood Bridget. She wore one of his shirts, buttoned up just enough to maintain some modesty, but her long, slender legs were on full display. The sight of her cooking, so effortlessly beautiful and at ease, made Michael's heart swell with affection.
Bridget was humming softly to herself, her movements graceful as she flipped pancakes on the stove. The sunlight cast a warm glow on her, making her look even more radiant. Michael couldn't help but smile as he took in the scene, feeling an overwhelming sense of contentment.
Quietly, he made his way over to her. She didn't notice him at first, too engrossed in her task. He stepped closer and gently wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her into a tender embrace from behind.
"Good morning," he whispered into her ear.
Bridget jumped slightly, but then relaxed into his embrace, a smile spreading across her face. "Good morning," she replied, tilting her head back to look up at him. "I planned on waking you up after I cook your breakfast."
Michael's embrace tightened slightly as he pressed a kiss to Bridget's temple. "You're spoiling me," he murmured.
Bridget laughed softly, the sound like music to his ears. "You deserve it. After all the hard work and success with the Quantum X, a nice breakfast is the least I can do."
Michael loosened his grip just enough to let her move, but he didn't completely let go. He enjoyed the warmth and comfort of having her close. "What's on the menu?" he asked, peeking over her shoulder at the pancakes sizzling in the pan.
"Pancakes with a twist," Bridget said proudly. "I added some blueberries and a hint of vanilla. And there's fresh fruit and yogurt to go with it."
"I don't know, a long drive I guess?" Michael replied thoughtfully. "We could explore some places we haven't been to, just enjoy each other's company and the open road."
Bridget's eyes sparkled with excitement. "That sounds wonderful. We can take the new car out for a spin and see where the day takes us."
"Exactly," Michael agreed, finishing his coffee. "No plans, no schedules, just the two of us and whatever adventure we find."
They quickly finished their breakfast, both eager to start their spontaneous day. Michael called Juliet to cancel his meetings, explaining that he needed some personal time. Once everything was settled, they got dressed and packed a small bag with essentials.
Michael led Bridget down to the garage, where his Lamborghini Aventador SVJ awaited them. The sleek, emerald green car sparkled under the fluorescent lights, its design both elegant and aggressive. He opened the passenger door for Bridget, who slid in with a grin.
"Ready for our adventure?" Michael asked, his excitement mirrored in her eyes.
"Ready," Bridget replied, her voice full of anticipation.
Michael settled into the driver's seat and started the engine. The car roared to life, its powerful hum vibrating through them. He navigated out of the garage and onto the open road, leaving the city behind as they headed toward the countryside.
The drive was exhilarating. The wind whipped through Bridget's hair as they sped down the highway, the world rushing by in a blur of colors.
Cars that would pass them by occasionally lowered their windows and took out their smartphones to capture the sight of the gleaming Lamborghini. Bridget laughed as she waved at a few onlookers, enjoying the thrill of their impromptu escape.
This was just the beginning.
