Chapter 80: Ch-80 Edge Lord VS Aron Holger-2

[Spirit Ascension:Modal Fire and Wind]

A crown made of fire and wind donning his head, a perfect split between orange and teal colour in his hair.

His mask was gone, revealing his eyes, which were the same colour with two orange and teal-like objects on his back.

His previous tuxedo was now replaced by a royal-like robe with both orange and teal colours present in harmony.

'Ah, this feels good'

William thought as he felt rejuvenated by the rampant spirit energy flowing through his body.

"Ready for round two?" William asked playfully.

**

'Chh, this bastard got saved by an expensive-looking artifact since it defended against my aura sword. It must be at least a S rank artefact. How annoying'

Aron was annoyed by not being able to instantly end his opponent, but he let it go, realising that it must have been the masked man's Trump card, so he wouldn't have more of those artifacts that could defend against him.

With that thought, Aron prepared to attack this time for the last time; however, just before he could do it, he was confused by the sudden, hypnotising purple glow in his opponent's eyes.

And before he could recover from it, his opponent took off his mask and completely transformed.

At this point, his opponent looked no different from an angel of war who had descended into the mortal world.

'Spirit Energy'

He thought as he sensed the presence of energies other than mana and aura.

Aron had heard about spirit energy before, but this was the first time he had ever seen it.

'So this is what the natural energy of elements looks like? he thought.

But despite facing an unknown energy, he didn't feel he was going to lose.

Whether this came from confidence in his own abilities or ignorance about the might of spirit energy, only time could tell.

However, when he took a closer look at his opponent, he noticed that the boy looked younger than before, and oddly enough, he looked familiar, but he didn't have the time to ponder on this as his opponent summoned his sword, burning in orange and teal flame, and charged at him.

Aron also didn't back down and instead accepted his opponent's challenge to fight him in close quarters, which he was most proud of.

As the longsword powered by spirit energy clashed with the greatsword  powered by aura, an impact noise resounded throughout the already-destroyed warehouse.

~Skring~

Both William and Aron were completely equal in terms of power, with neither side willing to back down.

After pulling his sword back, Aron did a vertical slash prepared to slice his opponent in half, but William blocked the hit.

Such a clash continued for a few minutes as both William and Aron exchanged strikes; neither side had gotten hit yet.

However, as their clashes continued, Aron was overpowering William thanks to his better stats and experience, and before long, he managed to draw Williams blood with a vertical thrust, sliding past his sword and slicing his cheek.

Thankfully, due to [Danger Sense], William was able to quickly tilt his head, minimising the damage in the process, or else he would've lost his eye.

Using the chance that his opponent had his hand extended and wasn't in a position to defend, William brought his hand near Aron's chest and casted (Flame Burst), this time powered by spirit energy instead of mana, so his opponent couldn't cut it.

BOOOOOOOMMM!!!

A small ball of fire instantly hit Aron at point blank range and burned his chest, sending him flying in the process.

As Aron crashed on a wall, William didn't give him a chance to rest as he flew towards him, using the wings on his back, ready to end him.

But before William could reach Aron and slice him down, all eleven of the brown aura swords behind Aron flew towards him.

Seeing the swords, William didn't bother to dodge them, as he was giving his opponent the benefit of the doubt and assuming they had homing capabilities.

He didn't really have a reason for this, but he believed it would be better to overestimate his enemy than underestimate him.

He was about to break these swords with that thought in mind he casted (Elemental Javelins).

As William cast the spell, 22 javelins made of fire and wind, roughly 20 inches in size, powered by pure spirit energy, flew from behind him and prepared to intercept the swords, aiming at their masters lives.

Two javelins clashed with one sword, and in the next few seconds

~BOOM~

~BOOM~

~BOOM~

~BOOM~

~BOOM~

~BOOM~

Explosions resounded through the destroyed building as the javelins and swords clashed.

It seems two javelins were equal to the strength of one sword, so they both just cancelled each other out.

At this point, William was almost out of spirit energy; his transformation was about to run out in a few seconds, but that was enough time for him. seaʀᴄh thё novel(F~)ire.net website on Google to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Once William reached the still-lying Aron, he didn't hesitate for even a second as he went straight for the kill, decapitating him to take his life.

Once his head fell to the ground, blood sprayed out like a jet as the body lost its head.

Blood rushed towards William to dye him red, but before it could dirty him, he erected a barrier to save himself.

Once the blood stopped flying, William fell on his knees as his transformation was undone, and he returned to his normal form with a tuxedo.

But with him no longer supplying mana to his artifact, his face looked normal, with his body regressing to the way it looked before with smaller height and no defined muscle.

But that wasn't of any concern to William, as his body was in extreme pain from overexerting his muscles and using more spirit energy than his body could handle.

"Blurgh"

William made a weird noise as he vomited blood, with blood leaking out.

After a few seconds of vomiting, he finally stopped as he lay flat on his back, breathing roughly as he muttered.

"I really messed up my body."

Sadly, he wasn't done yet; he still had one crucial thing left to do, and that was saving the girl he was meant to rescue.
