Chapter 86: Ch-86 Edge Lord VS Viscount Kaust-3

"This is fun," William said as he readied his stance to continue the fight.

"Man, you're into some freaky shit," Kaust commented.

William completely ignored the ridiculous comment and instead prepared for the third test, as he had planned.

(Ice Javelins)

(Fire Storm)

(Thunder Serpant)

A white, red, and yellow magic circle manifested behind him, and from it emerged javelins made up of ice, a storm of fire, and a snake made up of lightning charged at Kaust, who smirked seeing the onslaught of spells.

"Not bad for a human, too bad; you're simply outclassed," he said, and with a wave of his hand, a dark wall of energy manifested in front of him, and just like before, Williams spells were destoyed upon contact.

'Test number 3 results: Negative, even if different spells with completely different attributes are used, they will be destroyed as long as more miasma than all the mana in all the spells combined is used'

The next test was going to be the last one; he had already spent too much time on this, but thankfully, due to [mana ascension], his mana levels were already back to normal. The only problem was the strain on his physical body, which was in a lot of pain.

It was also quite obvious that the only reason he was still alive was because the demon was just playing around; if he was actually trying, he wouldn't have even survived five whole minutes.

William hated to admit it, but he knew it was the truth, and regardless of how he felt about the situation, he had no intention of letting this chance go and instead planned to make the demon regret underestimating in the afterlife.

With the intention of making him pay, William outstretched his hand as he poured 80% of his recovered mana into a single concentrated attack.

(Grand Elemental Javelin)

Kaust couldn't see or sense mana; however, thanks to [Mana Ascension], mana particles had become visible, and even he could see all the mana converging in one spot near Williams hand, and the pressure it emitted wasn't something even he could underestimate.

'This might be bad if that hits me' with that thought in mind, he leaped towards the source, finally taking him seriously and intending to end him.

However, before he could do that, something bit down on his ankle.

~Crunch~

"Oww," he muttered, even though the bite didn't hurt that much. It was kind of similar to getting stung by a bee, where it was irritating.

When he looked down, he was surprised to find a wolf made of shadows biting at his ankle, and a disgusted expression made its way onto his face as he muttered.

"You dare?" anger was evident in his tone as a small black blade appeared out of his leg and pierced the wolf, killing it almost instantly.

However, this wasn't over just yet, and before Kaust could continue rushing towards William, hundreds of wolves leaped out of his own shadow.

Thanks to all the life force William had been able to absorb in the previous fight, he was now able to create more than a hundred shadow wolves, all of whom jumped Kaust when his guard was down, thanks to  [Shadow Step], which was their main ability.

Now, thanks to his own carelessness and being hyperfocused on the attack William was casting, he was trapped under hundreds of beasts clawing and biting at him, trying to rip him apart.

But sadly for the wolves, the demon they were trying to devour out scaled them far too much, so in the end, all they ended up achieving was momentarily restricting him and really annoying him.

After being unable to fight his way out of the horde, he resorted to finally getting serious.

~BUST~

Almost instantly, all the wolves were instantly vaporised and killed as Kaust stood triumphantly with a violent purple aura around him.

"Those disgusting bastards, how dare they touch me?"

He expressed his disgust; however, he seemed to have momentarily forgotten the main reason behind being caught off guard, and he was now about to pay for not keeping his main opponent in check properly.

As he turned towards William, he caught sight of a gigantic spear made up of fire, water, ice, lightning, and wind. Right in the heat of battle, William had surpassed his limit and created a penta elemental spells, a feat that would completely shake the magic world if revealed, but now was not the time.

The massive spear was just a few cm away from him, which was too close and big for him to dodge, so he did the second best thing and poured miasma to create a barrier in front of him.

Sadly, once the spear made contact with the barrier, it devoured the miasma inside the barrier and became even stronger than before as it finally reached its target.

~BOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!~

A massive explosion occurred, which destroyed the entire warehouse.

Now everything was in shambles, and once the smoke cleared, a bleeding figure of a previously fearsome entity could be seen.

Both of his horns were destroyed, one of his arms was gone, and black blood littered the ground. Sёarᴄh the nôvelFire.net website on Google to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

He coughed blood as he fell to the ground, and that attack ended up doing far more damage than he could have ever imagined.

His injuries were far too severe and, unless dealt with immediately, would lead to his death.

However, now wasn't the time to be concerned about that, as the only thought in his mind was taking revenge on the boy responsible for his current condition.

As his eyes scanned through the building, trying to find him, he was surprised by his absence.

He looked everywhere, yet to no avail.

'Did he run away?' he thought.

Once he realised that a human boy had really managed to injure him and managed to run away, his anger exploded as he shouted.

"FUCKER, I SWEAR, I WILL KILL YOU WHEREVER YOU ARE!!! "

However, what Kaust didn't know yet was that he didn't need to find him, as the boy responsible for his current condition was still here waiting for his chance.
