Chapter 88: Ch-88 Information Is A Weapon-2

"Blurgh," William vomitted on the ground as his appearance changed back to his usual white hair and red eyes.

"Blurgh," he vomitted again as blood came out this time.

'It hurts so much,' he thought as he felt all the bones in his body breaking.

"Ahhhh!!! " he screamed in agony.

William had gone through some pretty extreme pain even in his past life and had some pretty admirable pain endurance.

But none of those experiences could even come close to what he was experiencing now.

His muscles were tearing, his bones were cracking, and blood leaked from all his pores in his body.

"Blurgh," he once again vomited out blood.

By this point, the whole ground around was covered in blood and whatever waste came out of Williams mouth.

And the worst part was that he was still not done.

After a whole agonising 5 minutes that almost made him want to kill himself, the pain finally stopped.

He lay on the ground, breathing heavily, as his entire body was now broken, rendering him paralysed and unable to move.

It was honestly a surprise that he was still alive.

But he knew that it was still not over; everything till now was because of overusing [Mana Ascension], and more pain was about to come now.

'Here it comes'

~Crack~

"Ahhhhhhh!! " seaʀᴄh thё nôᴠel Fire.nёt website on Google to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

William screamed in agony as he felt something inside of him crack.

The pain he was going through now was far more intense than even the one from earlier.

His mana core was breaking, and the process felt like his soul was being ripped apart.

Snot and tears of blood escaped Williams face as he felt like he was about to die.

Due to his connection with mana, William was hyperaware of his own body, due to which he could feel each and every crack in his mana core.

And before long, the pain finally subsided as the core broke.

For a normal person, this would permanently hinder their ability to use mana, but William wasn't a normal person but rather a child of mana, and he had 35 other mana cores.

'Is it finally over?'

Sadly, it seems like it still wasn't over, as in just another 3 seconds, he screamed again.

"Ahhhhhh!!! "

Another core of his was breaking.

~Crack~

After the same agonising process repeated five more times, it was finally over.

Out of the 36 mana cores that he originally had, he was now left with just 30 mana cores.

"Huhuh," Willian breathed heavily as he tried to regain control of his body, sadly to no avail.

He could also not feel mana anymore; it would probably take a while before he could use mana again.

"Fuck it hurts," he cried out in pain as his whole body hurt, making him paralysed.

'Hey Zephyr, now that the demon is dead, mind telling me what a demon was even doing being alive?'

No response came from Zephyr, regardless of how much he asked, so in the end, he had no choice but to give up.

According to all the history books he had read, demons were supposed to be a dead race—a glorious race of the past now confined to mere pages in books.

So why was someone from a 'dead' race here in the mortal world?

And even more importantly, why was it at the location of his first mission?

In just his first mission, he was forced to fight two opponents above his level, both an aura master and a demon.

He didn't know why, but what he did know was that his flaw probably played a role.

After all, this was the same flaw that made a neutral race like dragons make a move and collectively decide to eliminate him, and now even a demon has come for him.

'What's next? I'm going to fight God for my next mission?'

William joked, but it was only now that it hit him how impossible a feat he had accomplished.

If someone asked whether he could beat both an aura master and a demon back-to-back, his response would've been an easy no.

But today, when faced with such a situation, he didn't even think of running away and took both of them head-on, and not only that, he even won.

Sure, in the process, his body got crippled and he temporarily lost the ability to use mana and spirit energy, but that still didn't change the fact that he was still alive while his opponent weren't.

'I'm really awesome'

William praised himself for having done the impossible against all odds.

Sadly for him, his little self-praising session was about to come to an abrupt end as black smoke appeared out of nowhere and moved towards the dead body of the demon.

'It can't be'

William thought as he watched the same ominous miasma from earlier moving towards one location in horror, and as he watched, he could do nothing due to the condition of his body.

In the end, William was forced to just watch in horror as everything he had done became useless, and before long, a dreadful but familiar black entity walked out of the smoke.

Kaust had the widest and most disgusting smile William had ever seen in both of his two lives.

"Hahahaha, this is so much fun," he laughed at the pale expression on Williams face, almost like he had seen a ghost, which wouldn't be too far from the truth.

"Ah, this is why humans are much more fun than demons could ever be."

"I can't believe you actually fell for such an obvious trap."

Right now, Kaust was completely bluffing, pretending to have been playing him from the start to completely mentally break him, and in his current condition, William was unable to see through it.

In truth, William had almost killed Kaust thanks to his strategic thinking and battle sense. In the end, the only reason he failed was due to the lack of information available on the demon race, and Kaust knew it, which was why he was so pissed at almost getting killed by a mere human.

And now, to take out his anger, William was about to experience a type of hell he had never experienced before, all because of one tiny mistake.
