Chapter 33: Beginning of the plan

Murong Lin sat in his carriage, slowly making his way back to his palace.

After Bai Lao Bo had brought his lunch, he left to rest, leaving Murong Lin alone in his room to cultivate.

While he was at the fourth layer of the Manifestation realm, a strength considered decent in the younger generation of Yan, it was still too slow. After all, the ‘Great Nanyue Wan Guo Tournament’ was only half a year away, and a cultivator of the Manifestation realm would be akin to cannon fodder there.

There were countless prodigies attending the ‘Great Nanyue Wan Guo Tournament’, it was a gathering of more than thousands of demon-like geniuses out for each other’s blood. Were there any successful people that didn’t climb higher by stepping on the corpses of other geniuses?

Moreover, Murong Lin had a feeling that he would find new protagonists in the ‘Great Nanyue Wan Guo Tournament’, and not just one!

He needed to quickly raise his strength to prepare for the future.

Black wisps of spiritual power escaped from Murong Lin’s lips as he circulated the 《Lifelessness Law》to temper his meridians, and at the same time, the ‘Evil of lifelessness, lawlessness and formlessness’ was slowly changing within his body.

The mortal form was something that was inherently formless, capable of taking on countless forms. Within his body, it was constantly altering its form, changing its appearance with every breath he took.

And as he cultivated, he lost track of time.

After more than a hundred cycles of circulation, Murong Lin could feel the bloody poisonous insect within his acupoint twitch before it flew out, its wings fluttering as it barely emitted a bloody scent. It had actually broken through to the Manifestation realm along with Murong Lin.

“En?” Murong Lin’s brows furrowed slightly.

“Come in.” He spoke, his voice hoarse before it was suppressed by his spiritual power, sent in a straight line towards the outside of his room.

Voice transmission!

This transmission travelled into the ears of a figure a hundred meters away, transforming into his voice and shocking the listener.

Instantly, the figure flipped over a few walls and houses, avoiding the patrolling guards before arriving at the front of Murong Lin’s house.

Her entire body was wrapped in a black outfit, and her face with covered with a black veil, but he could still see a hint of blood flashing in her eyes once in a while, seemingly uncontrollable.

Her jade-like hands reached out, pushing open the door to Murong Lin’s room slowly as she entered. In a flash, she closed the door without making a sound.

“Why are you here?” Murong Lin controlled his breathing as he retracted his spiritual powers, before standing up to speak to the intruder.

Nodding, Ru Meng’er buried her face into Murong Lin’s chest, closing her eyes to enjoy the feeling.

“Right, why did you send people to the remnants? Is there anything left there?” Ru Meng’er suddenly asked.

Murong Lin’s expression paused before he quickly hid the vicious look in his eyes. Grabbing onto Ru Meng’er’s shoulders, he raised her head and spoke, “I placed a trap there in preparation to kill some people. You shouldn’t worry about it, after I’ve killed them, I’ll kill Murong Tong and exact revenge for you.”

Ru Meng’er’s expression quickly became relaxed as a smile appeared, “Ah! Alright, I’ll go and prepare.”

Murong Lin nodded as he released her shoulders, watching as her silhouette flew out of the room and quickly disappeared.

Afterwards, his expression became sour.

“Fuck, I’m nice enough to help you and you actually dare to think about eating the influence under my command?” Murong Lin grumbled.

As the cult leader of the Blood Spirits, his commands were under absolute confidentiality. He hadn’t expected Ru Meng’er to have only needed a day to figure out his plans and the general movements of his underlings.

It was obvious that Ru Meng’er wasn’t just using his influence to cultivate, but she had also won over some of his people secretly to create some kind of internal organisation! If he wasn’t careful, this was the beginning of a betrayal!

Feeling a slight headache, Murong Lin muttered, “If it weren’t for our shared blood, who else would help you? I hope you won’t do anything stupid!”

And as he spoke, his expression became darker, “It seems like the Blood Spirits can’t be kept around anymore.”

Turning towards his study table, Murong Lin wrote a letter and folded it neatly. With a whistle at his bedside, a shadow appeared within the palace as a white messenger bird appeared, coming to Murong Lin’s window as it stared at him with a tilted head.

Patting its head, Murong Lin fed it a snack and placed the letter into the letterbox container tied at its feet. With another pat, he signalled for it to fly away and complete its mission.

Nodding, the messenger bird took to the skies with a speed that even a Crystalline realm expert couldn’t match.

It speedily flew out of the palace, heading towards the outside of the capital and disappearing.

At the same time, a few people in the Faith palace had noticed the messenger bird that had flown out of the third prince’s room. With a thousand-meter transmission stone, they quickly sent a message, “Quick! Stop that messenger bird and take the letter!”

“Yes.”

The transmission stone instantly shattered, it was only capable of sustaining three seconds of communication within a three thousand meter range, usually only used by the spies of influential clans that could afford it.

That figure had concealed itself from the detection of divine senses, and it stood still as it stared at Murong Lin’s palace, mockingly laughing, “Hah, third prince, you finally slipped up. Blood spirits, what a good piece of information! Hahaha!”
