When Xiaomao saw the scene in the room, he was stunned.

At the center of the room, a hundred rag-clothed people were tied to crucifixes. On the floor, a crimson pentagram circle shone and trapped everybody inside in the array.

A thousand level-200 priests of the Pangu Church and level-200 red cultists stood alongside each other, kneeling and praying to their god. They surrounded the pentagram array and lit a thousand candles on the formation with their magic.

On the altar on the opposite side of the stairs, the young boy, Meng Xin, was battling against the cultist leader, whose level was hidden. Both of them seemed to be evenly matched.

As for Bush Cox, he got stuck on one of the crucifixes. The old man wiggled his fingers as if he was in the middle of freeing himself from the restraints.

Suddenly, the candles shone as if they were handheld spotlight flashlights, blinding all cultists and the people on the crucifixes. Even Xiaomao had to avert his eyes as it was too bright.

SCREECH

The gargoyle screamed and flew back to the B4 floor. It didn’t see Xiaomao, who was blending with the stairs.

Xiaomao covered his eyes with his arms. He peeked through the gap, hoping to see what they were doing.

He couldn’t see Bush Cox and Meng Xin on the altar anymore as the light blocked his vision. Only the cultists and the priests around the pentagram circle were visible.

RUMBLE

The ground trembled as if something was coming out from the ground. Then, the cultist leader on the altar laughed.

“You’re too slow, brother Xin! The Mazinger race will descend upon our land and fight for Lord Pangu! Surrender to the church, and your karma will be renewed. You will be rebirthed as the main character of this generation!”

“ZHAO FEI!” yelled Meng Xin, “Pangu’s men killed you and our father in the previous life! Why are you working for that fake god?! Are you crazy?!”

“You know nothing, brother Xin. Because of Mao Miaomiao, my father and I died! Look at you. You and Zhao Yun survived the ordeal and enjoyed immortality. You two were the ones abandoning us!”

The conversation was strange. The cultist leader and the boy seemed to be brothers, but they didn’t look like real brothers.

Meng Xin looked like a beggar at glance, but his facial outline and determined eyes resembled protagonists in novels and comic books. On the other hand, the cult leader Zhao Fei was a middle-aged bald man with countless pimples on his face.

Xiaomao analyzed the clues from their conversation.

First, Meng Xin said that Zhao Fei was killed by Pangu. Therefore, Zhao Fei might have been resurrected or reincarnated afterward. The question was – When did the incident happen?

You have infiltrated the church and discovered a strange ritual. However, Bush Cox has been captured, and he is at risk of being sacrificed. Fortunately, a beggar boy with a mysterious background is keeping the cultist leader, Zhao Fei, at bay, delaying the threatening ritual.

It’s impossible for you to fight Zhao Fei with your current strength. However, only you can stop the ritual.

Trigger Conditions: Reach the B5 Floor of Pangu Cultist Dungeon.

Mission Objective: Damage the Pentagram Array or free the captives.

Failure Condition: The Pentagram Array is activated.

Mission Rewards: A level-100 skill book, Contribution EXP, Bush Cox will be indebted to you, public announcement of the church’s scandal and the existence of the cultist dungeon.

Failure Penalty: Zhao Fei and Pangu Church’s followers will be forever hostile to you.
