Chapter 141 – Cat Dad is Angry (1)
On the 30th-floor luxurious apartment, Pan Xian sat on a sofa, watching the scenery outside the glass walls.
The view at night was captivating that Pan Xian lost the track of time. He sipped a fine 1967 wine from a mega-pint-sized wine glass while he was staring at the street decoration lights in a daze. On his lap, a caracal with three eyes curled and slept soundly.
BZZZ
The smartphone’s vibration brought Pan Xian back to his senses. He reached out to the nearby coffee table and picked up his phone.
Upon unlocking his phone, Pan Xian saw the message alert from his subordinates, who worked for the Ministry of State Security, aka MSS or Chinese NSA.
The message was short and simple.
[Miao Xiaomao is in custody. We’ll bring him to the usual place.]
Pan Xian smirked and put the phone back on the coffee table. He downed the wine in his glass and bitterly laughed.
“How pathetic. Mao Miaomiao and Mu-Nyang are destroying my last foothold, but I’m here, ordering my men to arrest and kill the son of my bodyguards.”
With a wave of his fingers, game-like system windows appeared in front of Pan Xian. It revealed his status and name.
.
Name: Pangu
Class: Entity
Race: Primordial Mazinger
.
He stared at his status menu, reminiscing about his past. He recalled the old day when he dethroned the Chaos Seraphim and took over the universe.
Pan Xian regretted it. Because of that small mistake, Mu-Nyang returned and came back to haunt him. Furthermore, Mu-Nyang had a successor, who was currently running rampant in the second game world.
In addition, Miao Xiaomao, the son of Miao Damao, was responsible for ruining Pangu Church’s foundation and influence in the Yuan Empire. At this rate, Pangu would lose his foothold in World Three.
The whole superhuman farm project was delayed because of both Mao Miaomiao and Miao Xiaomao. Pan Xian estimated that it might take an additional year to brainwash all players to become war slaves for the decisive war against Mu-Nyang’s troops.
‘It doesn’t matter. I’ll change my strategy. Instead of keeping Miao Damao and Katerina around to hunt disobedient superhumans, I’ll dispose all of them and raise the players as my slaves. I’ve managed to get some good pawns in the second world, and they should hold off Mao Miaomiao for a while.’
Pan Xian patted Nian. However, his eyes emitted killing intent.
‘Miao Xiaomao is as good as dead. Mao Miaomiao will die during the cross-world PVP event, and I’ll personally kill Miao Damao and Katerina. Once all arms and legs of Mu-Nyang are down, I’ll proactively destroy his followers in World Two and World Three!’
While Pan Xian contemplated his schemes, his phone vibrated once again.
Annoyed, Pan Xian grabbed the phone and read the new message. Coincidentally, it was from the same sender earlier.
[Miao Xiaomao is on the loose! The escorts are all dead!]
“Huh?”
.
.
.
Xiaomao stared at the four soldiers, who had been staring back at him. They pressed the muzzles of their pistols at his chest and stomach and were ready to shoot.
“Is that a new protocol these days?” Xiaomao sneered at the soldiers.
“It’s the direct order from our superior officer. Please stay put, and nobody gets hurt.”
“I can get hurt and die, but none of you must get hurt. Is that what you mean?”
“…”
None of the men answered, but their eyes were full of killing intent.
Sensing their killing intent, Xiaomao’s pupils gleamed, and his sclera turned dark. Despite having a low sync rate, Xiaomao’s body still remembered how to transform and muster his physical strength.
He, too, was ready to defend himself even if he had to kill everybody here.
“Go ahead. Do your worst. What’s stopping you?” Xiaomao taunted the men.
The soldiers scoffed at Xiaomao. One of them choke his neck and bellowed to his face.
“Listen, brat! I can kill you any time I want. Do you know why we’re sparing you? BECAUSE OF OUR SUPERIOR’S ORDER!”
“Ha! Excuses. I can tell that y’all want me dead the moment you come with all the tanks and soldiers.”
The soldier strengthened his grip, trying to torture Xiaomao. However, as he exerted his strength, his fingers couldn’t squeeze or pressed into Xiaomao’s skin.
He felt like he was squeezing a hard steel pipe with a bare hand.
Because of the awkward expression of the soldier, the three colleagues pressed their guns on Xiaomao’s face. One of the brought out a baton and hit Xiaomao’s chest.
Xiaomao’s expression didn’t change. He felt nothing from the baton and the cold guns.
From the looks of it, these guys attempted to intimidate Xiaomao, and they did a good job. Unfortunately, they threatened the wrong guy.
As Xiaomao was enjoying the pathetic attempt of these soldiers, a radio on the captain’s shoulder relayed the voice of the other team.
‘Other than the two cats, we don’t find any suspicious items or illegal substances in the house.’
BZZ
The soldier in front of Xiaomao replied, “Kill the cats and burn the house. Leave nothing behind!”
“!!!”
As soon as Xiaomao heard that, he was enraged.
What had he ever done to the army?
Why were they attacking his house?
Why were they trying to kill his cats?
Xiaomao thought of the game company. As it was named after Pangu, he believed that the company’s employees were secretly working for that god from the very beginning.
‘Did they come here for revenge? Was it because of the cultist incident?’
He had a thousand questions that he wanted to know. However, his rage and sense of urgency overwhelmed his mind. A few strands of whiskers grew from the pores between his mouth and nose.
CLANK
Xiaomao pinched the handcuff and broke it in half. His fingers straightened as if they had become a knife, and the hands sliced through the necks of the two soldiers.
BANG
BANG
As soon as Xiaomao made his move, the other soldiers pulled the trigger.
