Chapter 151 – Cat Dad Barter Trade with Players
“State your business, munya!”
The leader of Apples bowed and extended his hand for a handshake. Xiaomao accepted the gesture and let him shake hands (tentacle) with him.
“I see that you have many spellbooks and skill books. I was wondering if you could sell some of them to us. We’re willing to pay with real money.”
Xiaomao squinted his brows. He doubted that 052 and his friends had enough money to buy one of the super-rare books.
Testing the water, Xiaomao brought out a low-level skill book from the Gnoll Dungeon.
Lock-On Mark
This was a niche skill that Xiaomao rarely used, but it was still useful when he needed to use a big spell or big attack against a nimble target.
When Xiaomao brought the item out, everybody nearby could see the item’s color. Players drooled and stared at the book in a daze.
The Apple leader gulped and took a deep breath. He tested the water, “50 grand! 50,000 USDT!”
The bystanders’ expressions were complicated. They looked at each other in doubt as the offer was far lower than the market price.
All gold farmers and players were aware of the top item’s value. Like how lottery buyers motivated themselves by learning the jackpot price, everybody had already researched and memorized the market price of super rare items.
Upon seeing a super-rare skill book, they calculated in their mind. Each player came up with their estimation, and the value of the book was definitely more than 50 grand.
“Are you kidding me, munya?”
Xiaomao was the same. He had just traded with Absolute Halal, and those rich men valued the books highly. Even if it was a useless skill, the market price of the book was still higher than a million USD.
The offer was a joke!
Apple 052 pursed his lips. Realizing that he couldn’t scam Xiaomao, he changed his approach.
“I’m so sorry. I mistook the market price of a rare skill book. The red book is super rare, not a regular rare item.”
Xiaomao snorted at the excuse. Although rare skill books were still expensive, none of them reached the price of 10,000 dollars.
Apple retried, “How about 10 million PACTs?”
Again, the offering was a joke. Xiaomao already had 55 million PACTs, and he didn’t need that many. Moreover, after converting to cash, Xiaomao would only get about five to six hundred thousand USD.
“I only accept standard stablecoins. BUSD or USDT only, munya!”
“Haha, you’re a tough customer, I see. How about 10 million PACT and a rare accessory?
Apple showed Xiaomao a set of earrings.
As Xiaomao had seen many accessories in the Gnoll Dungeon’s treasure room, he wasn’t interested in a regular rare item. However, he lacked high-level accessories at the moment.
“What’s the level, munya?”
Apple was delighted, “Level 100. We got this from a level-100 elite monster.”
“Show me, munya.”
Apple and Xiaomao used their trade menu to check the item’s description. Both sides put their items in their respective trade inventory slot.
.
Earrings of Good Health
This set of earrings was once distributed to every beast folk and visitors in the southern basin. These magical items ensure that the wearer will never contract any trivial disease.
However, due to the sour relationship between the beast tribes and the Pangu Church, the beast tribes stop distributing these earrings to people.
Item Type: Accessory
Rarity: Rare
Requirement: Level 100
Effects: By equipping the Defected Earrings of Good Health, you will gain the following effects;
– Immunity to Poison, Plague, Parasite, and Sick abnormal status.
– Healing Spells heal 50% more health.
.
The accessory was not bad, but it was not as good as other super rare items in Xiaomao’s possession. In fact, he had better accessories in his inventory, but they were unusable because of Solomon’s curses.
Reminded of curses, Xiaomao facepalmed. He recalled that he was now immune to curses, and his karma was now invisible. Therefore, he was free to use the accessory items that he had.
Because of his good mood, he accepted the trade, but he haggled a bit for a ceremony.
“15 million PACTs and the earrings.”
“DEAL!”
Apple 052 was overjoyed. He added more PACTs and completed the transaction right away.
The guild mates of Apple snickered and mocked Xiaomao for being stupid as he undersold the item. The bystanders were jealous of Apple’s guild. On the other hand, Xiaomao shrugged it off as if he could print them whenever he wanted.
“Are you done? Make way for me, munya!”
Apple laughed and gestured his men to open the path for Xiaomao’s party, “My deepest apology. Excuse me.”
Xiaomao snorted and gave the earrings to Lucky. After all, she was his team’s tanker, and extra healing effect and poison immunity might come in handy.
Unfortunately, several guilds had caught wind of Xiaomao’s items. They were waiting for him on the first floor.
When Xiaomao got to the first floor, hundreds of players swarmed him.
“Sir, do you have more red books for sale?”
“Sir, Ma’am, could I purchase the books?”
“I have many rare items on me. Could I trade them with your books?”
Xiaomao rolled his eyes. For the sake of saving time, he announced it to the public.
“I’m going to sell all my books in the game market for PACT or USDT, munya! If you want my books, wait for them at the market!”
The crowd was disappointed. They wanted to barter-trade instead of using the cryptocurrency as they were not as rich as Halal and major farming guilds.
However, Xiaomao’s next words surprised them.
“I’m also accepting barter trade, but I’m looking for specific items, such as World Tree’s branches, Cathulhu Blood Essence, Crystallized Catnip Essence, Unidentified Black Stones, or statues of Chaos Demon Gods, munya!”
The players’ ears perked when Xiaomao mentioned the item names. Some of them had heard about one or two before while the others took notes.
Not all of them would search for the items for Xiaomao. Instead, they planned to acquire and research the items to learn why Xiaomao needed them.
Fortunately, one of the solo players suddenly broke the trend. He raised his hands.
“I HAVE ONE UNIDENTIFIED BLACK STONE!
Xiaomao was overjoyed. At first, he didn’t expect much from the regular players, but one of them suddenly had one of the items.
The young man pushed through the crowd and got in front of Xiaomao. He presented the glittering black stone.
“I got this during the grinding. I don’t know what it can do, but can I really exchange this for another item?”
The man didn’t even know why these people gathered around Xiaomao. In fact, the player only overheard that Xiaomao wanted to exchange his item for a black stone, which had been rotting in his inventory slot.
Xiaomao glanced at the player’s name. Then, he was astounded.
Ran Tae, Disciple of Beast Queen, Level 350
Not only did this player have a high level, but Ran Tae’s name was gold!
Xiaomao was not the only one who noticed Ran Tae’s golden name. All players nearby stared at this player’s name in astonishment, looking at him from head to toe.
Like his fancy name, Ran Tae’s black leather armor set stood out from the crowd. His dark cloak, black gauntlets, and combat boots left trails of green aura. Every footstep created faint lights on the ground.
Looking closely, Ran Tae’s character was unique as well. The white round fluffy ears on his head and his black-and-white hair looked similar to a white tiger’s fur pattern. Adding the blue sclera and deep black iris, Ran Tae’s character race was easy to guess.
“It has been a while since I last saw a UR White Tiger Race, munya!”
Xiaomao remembered this person well. He was one of few players, who fought against the Pangu Church alongside the beast folks to the bitter end. Xiaomao didn’t remember what happened to Ran Tae, but the Southern Basin Forest was razed and burnt by the Pangu Church. No player reported about the casualty on both sides.
Still, Ran Tae was one of the top players before the alien invasion. He had a close tie to the beast queen, and he owned a lot of land in the Southern Basin.
In short, Ran Tae was a potential ally that Xiaomao needed!
Meanwhile, Ran Tae was surprised that Xiaomao figured out his character’s rarity. He scratched the back of his head.
“I never told anyone before. Was it easy to figure it out?”
Xiaomao rolled his eyes, “UR avatars are few, but their races are common, munya. High Human, High Elf, Oni, Angel, and mythical races are in the pool. It’s rare to see someone playing with a white tiger race despite the control difficulty, munya!”
“Hahahaha! You’re talking about yourself, right? Catopus are UR exclusive, too!”
“Obviously, munya!”
Xiaomao purred and laughed in a good mood. He sent a trade request to Ran Tae and put a skill book that he had already learned in the inventory – Chameleon!
Judging from the nature of Ran Tae and his golden name, he might need a stealth skill to hide from troubles. Therefore, this potential ally could survive and join his forces in the future.
