Chapter 158 – Cat Dad and Cursed Object

A female oni dropped her jaw and looked at the giant Kaiju in the middle of Siren City.

Battlefield Warlord, aka Wei Zhi, was in the middle of hunting night monsters near Siren City to complete her quests. However, the sudden emergence of a colossus entity distracted her.

The next global announcements explained everything.

DING

<Player Xiaomao has released the Calamity-Class Monster!>

<Player Xiaomao is now the nemesis of Pangu Church! Followers of Pangu Church may attack or kill Player Xiaomao without incurring a penalty. Anyone who kills Player Xiaomao may visit the local Pangu Church to claim a bounty reward!>

<Player Xiaomao is last seen in the garden of Siren City’s Pangu Church!>

<The Pangu Church has placed a bounty on Xiaomao. Current Bounty – 50 Million PACT!>

“Oh my god.”

Wei Zhi calculated the price of PACT. If she had 50 million tokens, she would have 2.5 million dollars!

That was a lot of money!

However, Wei Zhi wasn’t attracted by the bounty. She was baffled at how Xiaomao offended an in-game organization so much that they put a lot of money on the line to kill his character once.

Curious, Wei Zhi sent a private message to Xiaomao.

DING

<The message has been sent.>

<The person doesn’t turn on game messenger. Your message won’t be read until he opens the messenger.>

“Xiaomao, you idiot!”

Wei Zhi pouted. He stomped an elite orc level 80 to death while five warrior spirits annihilated the party of orclings around them.

The squad leader of warrior spirits was a female knight by the name [Joan]. Her transparent physique glowed in silver light, which was different from the other invisible ghosts with only shiny eyes and floating equipment.

Joan gazed at the monster. Then, she glanced in the direction of Siren City’s palace, where a bright blue hexagon dome protected the residents inside.

“Master, do you know that person?”

“Yeah, he’s my junior.”

“I see. So, will you join him and free the other sealed monster as well?”

Wei Zhi snorted, “Why should I?”

“I thought you were on the same side as him.”

“Being a colleague with a criminal doesn’t make me a criminal. I don’t even know what he is doing, and I won’t be helping him.”

“I see. That’s a relief.”

DING

<Joan was relieved that you were not working for a Chaos Demon God.>

Wei Zhi read the game message and wryly smiled. She facepalmed as she had a slight headache.

‘I don’t know if this is a curse. I completed a series of weird quests and got these spirits as my helpers. They are strong, and I gain levels fast because of them, but they are working for some god. I don’t want to join the Asgard.’

Despite the complaints, Wei Zhi had already formed a guild by using the donated fund of these spirits and the mysterious backers from Asgard.

In front of her name, her guild “Valkyrie” was highlighted in gold as it was a guild, sponsored by high-leveled NPCs. In addition, the sponsors had already assigned a hundred warrior spirits to join her guild, and they were going around to recruit female players.

These six warrior spirits in Wei Zhi’s party were also the cream of the crop. Their levels were the same as Wei Zhi’s, but their stats were superior to a level-100 UR avatar.

Wei Zhi checked her retainer’s remaining HP. All of them had over 500,000 HP, and none of them were injured despite the long battle.

While Wei Zhi was being sentimental, the Godzilla was shot by a mysterious beam of light from the Siren City Palace. It screamed and shrunk.

Joan’s eyes widened. She smiled and urged her master, “Master, let’s pursue. The monster is injured! Maybe we can contribute something and earn a portion of the bounty!”

As Wei Zhi needed to resupply and get rid of the trash items in her inventory, she agreed.

“We’ll rush to Siren City next. Be sure to collect everything and sort your items. Once we arrive in the city, we’ll convert the loot into cash, potions, and food supply for the next grinding session!”

“YES, MA’AM!”

Joan and the spirits saluted and transformed into spirit fireballs. They followed after Wei Zhi like haunting ghosts.

On the B4 floor, Xiaomao began exploring the rooms along the long hallway.

Every room was a storage room of a high-ranked priest, a cultist, or a paladin. Each door had a name tag and a portrait of the storage owner.

Xiaomao destroyed the wooden door with a shaman fireball. Upon getting inside, he saw crates, shelves, and boxes of items.

The first room was filled with containers of gold bars, gold coins, and regular jewelry. Xiaomao clicked his tongue and threw all the gold into his inventory window.

The next room belonged to a fat high priest, Mario. In this room, there were only books, life-sized woman dolls, and gold bars.

Xiaomao was delighted when he saw a shelf of books. He thought about skill books and spellbooks when he picked them up.

As soon as Xiaomao opened the books, he was disgusted. The first thing he saw was a picture of a naked young pre-teen girl taking a bath.

He tossed the child-porn material away and checked the other books. However, all of them were not suitable for kids.

Not even checking the remaining books, Xiaomao created a shaman fireball and burnt everything, except for gold.

The next room belonged to a paladin. But when Xiaomao saw the content inside, he created another fireball and purged whatever was in there without checking the crates or boxes.

In that room, a hundred bloody torturing devices were inside. Remains of the victims were still around!

Disgusted by the collections of the owners, Xiaomao yelled.

“Y’all going to Hell, munya!”

Xiaomao proceeded to the fourth room and drop-kicked the door open with his small tentacles.

When the door was open, a strong scent of something sweet and delicious kicked Xiaomao’s nose. He drooled and followed the smell in there.

Unfortunately, a certain lion cub’s silhouette appeared behind Xiaomao. Its paw grabbed the cat and tossed him to the side.

“SEAFOOD!!”

Taotie had already recovered his HP to 100%, but his level was still red. He dashed into the room and stuck out his tongue like a rabid dog.

This room was a refrigerator. Frozen food, fish, pork, and packages of food were kept here.

Taotie shape-shifted and his head became bigger. He opened his mouth and swallowed everything in there, then chewing gleefully.

Xiaomao came back to his senses when Taotie flung him against a wall. He looked at what Taotie was eating.

Then, he noticed that there were humans among the frozen food.

Xiaomao’s face turned green. He vomited out yellow fluid and his latest meal.

By the time Xiaomao felt better, Taotie suddenly stopped chewing. His face turned green as well.

“UWEEEE!!”

The lion threw up what he had eaten earlier. The green liquid flooded the storage room, and his HP dropped by a third.

Surprised, Xiaomao patted Taotie’s back and asked him, “What’s wrong? Did you eat something rotten, munya?”

“Damn straight, there was rotten meat! I actually ate a freaking Mazinger meat! YUCK!!”

“Hmm?”

Mazinger meat?

Xiaomao embraced his fear and looked at the militated mushy things that Taotie had vomited. Most of them were not recognizable as they were too grotesque and disgusting, but a portion of a hand and two fingers of a giant attracted his attention.

Each finger was at least 2 meters long, which was unusual. In addition, they were still moving!

Xiaomao thought of Two-Finger from a certain soul-series game. He wondered if they had the same origins.

Before Xiaomao could do anything, Taotie opened his mouth and spat a black fireball at the moving fingers. They let out a shrill scream and disintegrated into dust.

But when the dust scattered and flowed along with the vomit of Taotie, a red orb came out.

Xiaomao and Taotie frowned at the orb. They looked at each other and turned to the orb in confusion.

“Do you know what that is, munya?”

“What the hell is that?”

Both spoke in unison. However, no one was able to answer each other questions.

Taotie waved his paw and used his telekinesis to bring the orb closer for inspection. Xiaomao also stared at it, wondering if he could see its description.

However, the orb suddenly spun and revealed to be an eyeball with a silver iris and black pupil.

“NIHIL!” Taotie threw the eyeball away and cast a spell. A void gate appeared and sucked the eyeball away.

Taotie panted, and his eyes were bloodshot. His lion tail and mane stood up straight like a panicking cat’s fur.

“Err, senior. What’s that?”

Taotie sweated profusely, “An ominous object! A terrible one!”

“???”

WHOOM

Suddenly, a black portal appeared in front of Xiaomao, and the eyeball flew out. It landed on his arm.

DING

When Xiaomao managed to touch the eyeball, he could finally see its description.
