Chapter 241 – Cat Dad's Subordinates Are Awesome

"Oh god. What do I do?!"

The game character "Cardachion" was a run-of-the-mill gamer dude who played a female character. As he was a 3D artist in real-life, he spent a week perfecting his in-game character's appearance.

The beauty of this character rivaled that of famous NPCs in World Two, such as Devil, Xu Chu, and Diaochan. Cardachion was proud of his creation, and he lived in the game as "her" ever since.

Because of the ultra-rare race "Angel" and the unique class "Demon Hunter", Cardachion did well even though "she" started out in Midgard's beginner village. Scouts from Asgard soon noticed her, and Joan recruited Cardachion to join the Valkyrie Guild.

Cardachion happily agreed to join the guild since this female avatar might fit the Valkyrie theme. For a long time, she enjoyed this gaming life, roleplaying as a girl in-game and ogling the side boobs of skimpy-dressed female members of the guild.

Because of her ultra-rare race and class, she quickly became the top fighter in the guild alongside Battlefield Warlord. And when the cross-world event came out, Battlefield Warlord promoted her to the vice-leader while Joan took over the leader position to participate in this Guild War Tournament.

At first, Cardachion had fun riding the coattail of Joan and the mighty army of Einherjars. She didn't get summoned to the battlefield even once as Joan did everything perfectly on her own.

But in this fight, Cardachion ended up on a battlefield. While everybody charged toward the mermen and the frozen river, she got distracted and was isolated at the spawn location.

The blond long-haired beauty with two white feather wings looked around while her see-through white robe fluttered in the wind. The robe's design and pattern were similar to what Mai Shiranui usually wore, but it was thinner and looser, barely covering anything even though the character had no undergarments. Thin golden layers of light scales covered her private parts and her side abdomen, highlighting his character's sexual appeal and white-jade skin. Gold trinkets and artifacts around her shins and forearms clinked, singing a song of ringing small bells whenever Cardachion moved.

Had any horny wolf or male player seen Cardachion alone in the woods, they would have assaulted her without fail!

Cardachion kept scanning the battlefield. She also looked up and saw the fight between Xiaomao and Joan.

The battle was so fast that her eyes couldn't follow their movements. While Joan kept getting struck by lightning bolts, she seemed to have an upper hand as Xiaomao didn't stop fleeing.

Then, Joan transformed into an eyeball hulk monster, but Xiaomao also acted like a monster, eating half of Joan's guts. The cat spat some of the content and fled to the frozen river.

Then, a mysterious phenomenon occurred. Everything stopped moving, and the world was no longer colorful. After that, Joan blinked to the other side of the river, confronting the enemies there.

Cardachion couldn't move, but she saw everything. The weak-looking guy in heavy armor summoned a purple spear and stabbed Joan. Then, a crack occurred, and the grey-scale domain collapsed like a broken layer of glass. Followed by the event, the cat charged toward Joan and beheaded her.

DING

<Your guild leader, Saintess Joan, has been defeated.>

<You have the option to continue fighting or continue fighting. Will you continue fighting or will you continue fighting?>

<[Continue Fighting]/[Continue Fighting]>

"What the hell?!"

Instead of asking Cardachion to surrender, the game forced her to make a silly choice. Either way, it led to the same result.

"What's the point?! I don't have a choice at all! FINE! KEEP FIGHTING, THEN!"

<You have chosen to continue fighting. Good job!>

<The Valkyrie Guild's members have voted to continue fighting. All your guild members obtain a 100% strength-increase blessing from Odin.>

Cardachion wanted to retort that the choices and the buff were stupidly one-sided and insane.

"This game is nuts. Nothing makes sense here anymore."

She pulled out a golden spear from her inventory and looked ahead, assessing the situation. Most of her colleagues already jumped into the water and fought the mermen. Meanwhile, the mysterious obelisk tower already obliterated the Pegasus squadron, and it started firing at the people in the river.

The number of casualties drastically increased. So far, 600 Einherjars were killed, but they managed to defeat only 40 mermen from the other side.

DING

The number changed. Suddenly, the total casualty of the MUNYA Guild decreased to 38.

Cardachion frowned and scanned the battlefield once again. She instantly spotted two beacons of light at the shore on the opposite river bank.

The suspect was a priest and the spearman that stabbed Joan earlier. They pointed starves at the river, and mermen appeared inside the beacons of light.

'To hell with it. I need to kill those healers. They must be resurrecting their friends. But how the hell did my guild's NPCs never learned that spell? It's a staple spell for priests, for god's sake!'

While complaining in her mind, Cardachion charged forward, heading toward Shepherd and John. However, a certain spearman, who already crossed the river to this side and was in the middle of fighting an injured Einherjar, blocked her path.

James Greatman, the Templar Knight, Level 800

'Damn!'

Cardachion's expression turned dark. Her level was only 200, and she couldn't possibly be this guy's match.

Still, believing in her unique race and class, Cardachion winded up her spear and threw it like a javelin, aiming at James. In addition, she used her super rare skill, which she had learned from Joan.

Divine Assault: Soul Purifying Spear

The golden spear grew four white wings and jetted toward James at the speed of sound.

"!!!"

BOOM!

The javelin destroyed James' steel spear and pierced his chest.

CRITICAL DAMAGE!

11,153!

"Eh?"

This skill was the bread and butter of her class, and it always inflicted over 20,000 damage whenever a critical hit appeared. However, it only caused 11,000ish damage in this case.

Moreover, 11,000 damage should have been enough to kill DPS-class players in one hit. However, James' HP only decreased by 10%.

Cardachion was shocked, but she knew why it happened.

'Right, level 800. Tsk!'

Cardachion believed that it was the level difference. She clapped her hands, and two more golden spears appeared in her hands. She threw it at James again.

James' eyes suddenly shifted and stared at Cardachion. He shoved the injured Einherjars in front of him away and grabbed both spears using both hands. He flipped it around and threw one of them toward Cardachion.

"Whoops!"

Cardachion leaped to the side, and the golden spear hit the ground, a meter behind the place where she had stood earlier.

Expressionless and emotionless, James killed the three Einherjars that he fought earlier and dashed toward the angel. Then, he pulled out the golden spear from his chest. Now, he wielded the two spears that Cardachion had summoned earlier.

"Naïve!"

Cardachion snapped her fingers, and the two spears in James' hands vanished. They reemerged in her hands, and she thrust one of them toward James' face.

James sneered and opened his mouth. Mimicking Xiaomao, he bit the spear.

CRACK

The tip of the golden spear was broken, and so did James' teeth. Blood seeped out from his gums, but he didn't flinch.

The guy nonchalantly chewed the metal and his teeth. Then, he swallowed them all in one second.

"Sick bastard!"

Cardachion swung another spear at James, aiming for his head. However, he caught it with his bare hand and yanked the spear toward him.

Because of the momentum, Cardachion was pulled along with the spear. She ended up colliding with his chest.

WHOOSH

A beacon of light fell upon James and healed his HP to the max. It was unknown if the healing spell came from a merman templar knight or John, but nobody cared about the detail at the moment.

James' teeth were restored and gold scales appeared on his cheek. He smiled at the angel and wrapped one of his arms around her waist while his other arm seized her spear.

"Wait a minute-OOF!"

Without hesitation, James' free hand slid down and groped her buttocks. He leaned over and sealed their lips together.

"!!!"

.

.

The incident didn't escape Xiaomao and John's eyes. They stared at the copy of a certain saint with the are-you-serious expression on their faces.

Meanwhile, Shepherd pouted as he was still sad about the death of Joan. A few seconds later, he banged his head against the ground and let out weird noise as if his mind was battling against his dark side or something similar. A breath later, he reverted to normal and stood alongside his comrades, pretending that nothing had happened even though his forehead was bleeding.

Xiaomao and John didn't mind this side of Shepherd. They understood that everybody had one or two dark pasts, and they were always frustrated whenever they recalled the experience.

"John, can you use more resurrect spells, munya?"

John nodded and gave Xiaomao a thumbs up. He also pointed at his cane.

Xiaomao raised his brows and looked at the item.

.

Cane of Resurrection (84 Remaining Charge)

The World Tree, OHUHUHOHOHU, has given this withered branch to the Mermaid Kingdom as a contribution to their growth and protection. Later on, the Water Spirit Queen nurtured it and refined the withered branch. Now, it can be used to resurrect allies for a limited amount of time.

Item Type: Weapon, Rechargeable

Rarity: Legendary

Requirement: Level 200, Mermaid Kingdom's citizen only

Effects: By equipping this cane, you gain the following perks and effects;

- INT + 2,000

- WIS + 4,000

- M.ATK + 4,000

- M.DEF + 2,000

- Able to cast [Lesser Resurrection] spell. Consume one charge upon usage. No cooldown time.

.

It was one of the weapons that Nymph had brought from the Mermaid Kingdom to help his guild. Although Xiaomao didn't need it, John really loved it.

"Bring back our guys, munya. By the way, can you res them over here? If you res them over there, they will get res-killed. We also might need to heal them to full health before we can send them back again."

Res-kill, aka Resurrection-kill, was the term that players used when someone killed a player, who was just recently resurrected. It was a notorious trick that player killers and guilds used to reduce their rivals' levels or negate the resurrection spells.

John nodded. He turned around and wrote a magic circle on the ground with his feet. Then, he started casting the spell by consuming the cane's charge once more.

Seeing that the boys were doing fine, Xiaomao looked around to see where he could help. Then, he noticed something odd.

He didn't see Lucky anywhere.

"Where is Lucky, munya?"

Shepherd and John looked at each other. Then, they pointed at the river bank on the other side, where there was a crowded area with a hundred Einherjars surrounding a squad of a dozen mermen.

BOOM

A commotion broke out over there. A dozen female warriors were knocked to the sky, and the tip of a large hammer could be seen from afar.

GROWL!

A wolf's bark and growl were so loud that Xiaomao could hear it from the other side of the river. He jumped on the flying sword and rushed over there to help.

Then, Xiaomao saw something unbelievable. Lucky stood on the forefront while mermen covered her back. Her tower shield stood tall while her large hammer smashed every woman warrior that charged toward her.

With one hammer swing, a dozen warriors were sent flying. They didn't die in one hit, but the encirclement was broken. The mermen rushed through the gap and rushed into the water.

Lucky turned around and acted as the rearguard. She barked again.

"WHO ELSE SEEKS DEATH?!"

BOOM

Again, five Einherjars were blown away by her hammer. Her valiant figure and her action looked like a scene in a movie, where a protagonist stood against many foes to protect their allies.

Although everything looked impressive, Xiaomao was confused.

"What is she doing over there? Why is she leading the squad?"
