Chapter 43 - 43. ..answer to it....

Inside the VIP guest room of the QMX building...

The young lady who had just come to visit the CEO, was sitting with a graceful posture as she went through some business magazines which were placed on the shelves for studying at leisure or maybe for fashion?

Anyway, don't get her wrong ba!

She was not interested in the contents itself, as it was a 'business' magazine and she couldn't make heads or tails out of it but she was interested towards a certain man, it was towards the man who was on the front cover in each one of them.

The man looked the same, the same cold face, the same stern and piercing eyes, that same aloofness and of course he was still the same charming and handsome man she fell in love with at first sight and still is in love with after 5 years.

She longingly glided her fingers over his face in the cover pic of a magazine which had a closeup on him, she was mesmerized by the feeling, well, it was something she was not allowed to do in real life,

her eyes dimmed a bit.

It was a well-known fact that the man was someone who hated physical contact, even with his family members.

So, in reality, the only people who were 'closest' to him in sense of skinship(?) were actually the most reputed businessmen of the country as they, at least have shaken hands with him once over work or over business deals, even his relatives didn't have that privilege ba.

The chairman was also not someone who liked physical contacts so, all they have seen the both do in the family parties held over the years were superficial hugs over there coats.

Who can complain about that and her, his 'girlfriend' has only been allowed to hold his hands once till date, that too over his coat back when they were in college.

So, a partner was mandatory for attending the graduation banquet so, he had taken her because she had asked him out, well, even though he was the top scorer, he thought it was beyond him to attend the party but she had asked him for a favor and he had obliged though, with reluctance.

She has been in the entertainment industry since she was a teen so, it was not a secret that she had far too many suitors back then but considering her status she couldn't just choose any Tom, Dick or Harry, right?

So, she had asked her parents to ask his grandparents and he was forced to do it, he was, of course, dissatisfied with the 'orders' he received, but being the gentlemen he was, he didn't stood her up and also didn't show it on his face when he took her as a partner.

She was the goddess of many in college and the country and he was the male god, the Adonis of the whole world(?) so, even though they didn't belong to the same departments still them coming together was expected by many.

Considering something and 'it' actually happening are two very different things so, considering their family backgrounds and the charm and so-called 'chemistry' they shared in those few moments led to the 'rumors' to start, which by the way, are still flying around.

Aaah~!

You ask, how she knew that he was dissatisfied?

Well, throughout the night he just showed his face only when accompanying her through the doors and after that he vanished into thin air; any news on him that anyone got after that incident was when they saw him in the magazines after he was lauded as the CEO of the whole Qin Empire so, if that was not him, showing his dissatisfaction and disinterest, then what was??

Many had thought that he won't attend the banquet at most, or else, if he does, he will just be there for appearance sake.

Still, they were shocked that it was the latter considering he came with the goddess herself and accompanying her but leaving her alone was not the 'usual route' ba!

But still, they didn't get angry by his actions, as our dear goddess, explained that he was not feeling well and had forced himself to come here to accompany her, she white washed everything or was it sugar-coating, hm?

Then again, no matter how rational and level headed she was, she can't just say it outright that he left after he completed his orders, which by the way, was to 'take her' to the banquet, right?

It was too humiliating for her and she had an image to keep, after all, given her looks and family even though, she didn't flaunt it, it was hard for her not to be self-conscious at all.

Of course, she also added that it was a family order for him to take her but she just put some hints here and there and didn't say it out outright, let's just say that she didn't want her pride as a woman to take too much of a hit. One reason she like the man was because he didn't treat her differently because of her looks but she was also upset that he left her alone in that place, is it too much irony or, was it the 7th mystery of the world, you know, 'a woman's line of thought'!!

Living it aside for the moment, she knew he was not okay with how things went but she was too much in love to think in a rational manner back then, all she wanted was for him to accompany him to the banquet.

She had kept a low profile and intricately used her words, saying that they were just 'friends' and that he took her as a partner only because they didn't have any other partner but deep down she knew, she knew that she was just trying to show everyone back then that it was only her who could be by his side, she wanted to say that he would only allow her by his side and no one else, it was her way of monopolizing him in front of every woman who coveted him.

She was childish and not only back then, even now, though she has grown up to suppress some of her desires but when it came to him she felt like she lost all her clear-headedness, she still acted on impulse, a perfect example was her, who was here in the office right now.

Her eyes darkened a bit thinking about it.

That incident led him to alienate her, she was closer to him than his other peers considering that her family were closer to the older generation of Qin, or so she believed in[..more like disillusioned herself to believe in]

She didn't grow up in the country but they have been 'together', that is, they went to the same university since she came back to the country and he has been 'looking' out for her since then.

'So, was it because she used her family's weight to make things run in her favor?'

Considering the self-made Qin ZiXuan himself, who worked his way up and with a perfect 'her' by his side, we all know the answer to it right?
