Chapter 86 - Boss Wife

After her long speech, Li Xun said. "Yang Mi... It's your name isn't it?"

"Yes, Mr. Li." Her smile froze. That was not the response she anticipated.

"Report to the rules and regulation department."

"S-Sir?"

But Li Xun paid her no need and faced Jing Lihua with a smile. "Sister Jing, I have personally come down to receive you! I am so sorry for the inconvenience caused by my being late. Please forgive me." Li Xun bowed in apology. His lips curled up into a mischievous smile.

"There is no need." Jing Lihua laughed.

"Follow me, Sister Jing. President Li has been waiting for you since morning. I'll guide you to his office."

As Li Xun guided Jing Lihua up, the female receptionist was aghast. To be called 'Sister' by the second master, to be apologized by him and to have the 'Devil' waiting for her since morning... Just what kind of person that woman was. She broke into a cold sweat. What kind of demon she had offended. She was finished.

When Jing Lihua walked to the Li Zhiqiang office, she was the object of countless stares. Only once she disappeared from sight, the people broke into ferocious gossiping. They all knew that their President had been waiting for someone since the morning. That had never happened before.

And it was a woman! It was right if their imagination went wild!

"No way I thought President Li was gay!" On said.

"Are you stupid? Do you want to die? If you are so tired of living then die but don't drag us with you."

"But truly who is that mysterious lady who stole our President's heart!" A more gossipy looking one exclaimed. "We must know who is she and butter her up if we got a chance. After all, she is going to be our future Ms. Boss!"

"Why are you all getting so excited about? This is the first time we see her. That's not enough proof for us to believe that she might be the future Ms. Boss. After all, Wu Xiuqin had made quite a number of visits here."

"But President had never waite for her. Instead, he would have her wait her long to meet him. And he would drive her out soon. That's not what you do with someone you have a close relationship."

"Why don't we flatter Second young master and ask him who this mysterious lady is?"

When Li Xun walked out from the floor, he was surrounded by eager employees. Their tails wagging in anticipation. Surrounded by flattery and praises, he looked smug and happy.

"Second master, tell us who is this lady?"

"Should we expect some good news."

"Tell us something. We won't tell anyone. We swear."

"Humph! If you guys are that eager. I'll tell you something." Li Xun said. His head high. "But make sure not to wisp a thing to others. You don't want to create trouble in the company, do you?"

"We wouldn't!" They said in unison.

He leaned in and whispered in a very low voice as if telling a huge secret. "This lady is going to be your future Boss."

"What!"

"Shh! Things are not to that point yet. But they will move forward. With me looking over the things, they will for sure. So don't create any trouble and make sure to treat her with respect. You guys wouldn't want the thing being ruined before they even started?"

"We wouldn't!"

"Then keep your quiet" Li Xun smiled wickedly.

In just ten minutes, the rumors had spread to the entire building. Li Xun who was observing all that laughed gleefully. "Now it would take no time for this to reach Wu Xiuqin ears. God, I so eagerly want to see her reaction." Li Xun knew when he had said those words to the few people that they wouldn't stay secret. And he had done that on purpose.

...

After a soft knock Jing Lihua entered the spacious office. Inside the room, a man was sitting cross-legged behind a huge work desk. He was dressed in a formal dress. His aura, while sitting on that big leather chair, was something very heavy.

Something that couldn't be overlooked. Now that Jing Lihua had seen her there sitting all in his majesty, she truly understood the mightiness of the 'Devil'. No wonder he had terrorized the business world. His mere presence was too much.

"Please take a seat, President Jing." His voice was soft but had an undesirable sense of strength. It broke Jing Lihua out of her trance.

She walked to his desk but suddenly stopped. S]Looking at his deep eyes, she was reminded of what happened last night. How they had kissed deeply and... and...

Jing Lihua's reactions must have been obvious because Li Ziqiang's lips curled up. "Something in your mind, President Jing? Something you would want to share with me?"

Hearing the tease in his tune and quickly grasping what he was implying, Jing Lihua lips pressed into a thin line and got control over herself. "Don't overthink. President Li. There has been nothing much interesting going on that would stay in my mind." Her words simply implied that she would pay no mind to what happened last night. That is, it didn't have as much of an impact on her as he anticipated.

"Oh?" Li Zhiqiang raised his eyebrow. The curl of his lips never straightened. "Why I don't believe you?" He slowly rose from his chair, placed his hands over the table and looked at Jing Lihua with apparent mischief in his eyes. Jing Lihua's heart raced with the way he looked at her. He looked very handsome. In his office and formal dress, there was an entirely different air about him. Something that could unnerve the heart of a calm and collected woman like Jing Lihua. "From the looks of you, President Jing, there has been something very interesting going on your life. Something that kept you up all night."

Damn! Did he observe her eye bags? Of course, Jing Lihua didn't have a nice sleep last night thinking about the stuff they... they did.

But she wouldn't admit. Over her dead body, she would admit.

"You are very mistaken President Li." She smiled composedly. "Then again. You have never been wrong before. So it must be your overconfidence that is leading to your wrong conclusions."

"Am I?" Suddenly the distance between them reduced as Li Zhiqiang made his way to Jing Lihua. Jing Lihua was determined not to step back. But as he approached her heart wavered.
