Chapter 121 - Growing smart
"Li Zhiqiang we need to do something about that!" Jing Lihua was stirred.
"Of course we need to do something. I mean my mother said she wanted grandchildren as soon as possible so we might as well start making babies right now if we want to have them by... Ouch!"
Jing Lihua pinched him hard. "Can you be serious for once?" She couldn't believe it. But again, with Li Zhiqiang, you must be ready to get shocked anytime.
Li Zhiqiang laughed. "People usually complain 'Can you not be serious for once?'"
Jing Lihua glowered at him but he didn't stop laughing. She pinched him again but he grabbed her hand. "Do you want to pay it rough." He tugged her to him and murmured into her ear. "You know we still haven't finished what we started last night."
The driver in the front seemed to have sensed something and turned on the partition to give the couple some privacy. Jing Lihua noticed that and gaped back at Li Zhiqiang. He merely grinned. "See? Now that we are alone we can do whatever we want."
Jing Lihua punched him in the chest to get away from him. "Forget it. You are impossible. Why did I even hope for getting some help from you?" She humphed and shouted at the driver. "Head the car to Tang complex." Why would he help her? Didn't he want the same thing? To get married to her as soon as possible. She could bet these two Mother and son were collaborating secretly.
When Jing Lihua opened the door of the car and was about to step out of it, Li Zhiqiang suddenly moved forward and hugged her from behind. Jing Lihua froze, but not from shock, but another feeling that came when his warmth surrounded her. Unlike her, she didn't curse him to move away instead she leaned into his hug and let herself melt into his warmth.
"I'll work out something." Li Zhiqiang whispered into her ear. This close to her, he could easily smell her and so addicting her scent was. Li Zhiqiang feared if he didn't et g soon he wouldn't be able to let go ever. Everything about her as so perfect. "You don't have to feel pressured. Nothing will happen if you don't want to." As he said that, the trace of hurt was visible in his voice.
Dammit!
If he was again trying to make her feel guilty, then it was working. He slowly let go of her. Jing Lihua didn't like the feeling of being left by him. She sighed. Before stepping out, she quickly turned around and gave him a small peck. This time, she kissed him right on the lips. Before he could register anything, she quickly moved away from his approach and walked out.
"Growing smart aren't you?" Li Zhiqiang smirked looking at her walking away; more like running away. If she had stayed a bit longer after kissing him, he would have pulled her in for sure.
The tingling on his lips was still fresh. It seemed like he needed to learn to be faster next time to stop her from escaping.
...
Heng Bingwen had just come back. All the events that happened in Hong Kong replayed in his head. "Fuck! Such a waste." He angrily kicked a trash can on the road. He had greeted his maternal uncle in there but he was gravely disappointed. He walked into a desolated park and sat on a lone bench and sighed helplessly.
Not only was he rejected by them, but he was also humiliated by them.
"All they needed to do was to provide me with a mean to attend the will's hearing. I offered them the best I could for their help." It was strange how greedy people could be. Heng Binwen unce had some connections. In front of the Heng family, Heng Bingwen was hopeless without anyone on his side. He could always ask Jing Lihua but he didn't want to. "She has already done a lot for me. I don't want to drag her into this." She would help him for sure knowing her nature. But for that, she would have to suffer.
Right at the moment, he received a call. It was his uncle. "Coul it be they have changed their mind?" He quickly picked it up.
"Uncle Wei" He politely greeted.
"Don't try to be overly flattering. You know that your auntie still doesn't approve of this. But I have reconsidered whatever you said."
"Reconsider? Does that mean you'll help me?" Heng Bingwen's eyes lightened with hope.
"Don't be happy yet. I just said I'll consider." Uncle Wei's voice was haughty. He wanted to keep Heng Bingwen on a tight rope. "You know that your auntie wouldn't agree especially because this thing is going to be very dangerous. You understand that, right?"
"Yes, uncle. I understand."
"If you want to make her agree, you better provide us with a good preposition for helping you."
"But I already offered everything I had."
"If you end up getting your shares, you will get a lot more, right?"
Heng Bingwen could feel anger bubbling inside him but he kept himself quiet. He was not in a position to fight back. Not just yet. For his mother, he thought.
"Yes, uncle."
"Good. I will help you." He was silent for a while. "Your father would be keeping an eye on you to stop you from getting there in time. We must be as discreet as possible. I've sent you an address to an abandoned fort. I want you to get to this address tomorrow. Make sure to be alone because we can't trust anyone. I'll have some men sent. You will impersonate a guard to get into there and my men will transport you there safely. Once inside, you can shed the disguise and claim your right." He pressed on. "But before all that, I want you to sign a document to be clear how much of all you get will belong to me. Do you understand?"
"Yes, uncle." Heng Bingwen said in a low voice with resignation and hung up the call.
A woman's laughter resounded in the manor.
"Dear, do you think he bought it?"
