Chapter 170: The 100th Floor!

Draco already knew of the situation the Portalian celestials were going through, but he didn't care; if something happened, he would deal with it accordingly.

For now, he was more intrigued by the wide landscape he was in.

The bubble like structure separating the endless expanse of void from the inside of this realm was a wonder for Draco.

The calm feeling this place gave him made him feel an inner desire to protect it. Was it a trick? Or was it just his own emotions?

Draco smiled; it was obviously the former. Why would he care about the life or death of a planet that wasn't even his home? If it served a purpose, then sure, he would protect it; however, if it didn't, then why would he care?

Floating upwards, Draco looked at the greenery below him; flowers and all kinds of beautiful plants were planted across the ground. The celestial of forests has been doing a good job, and Draco was amazed by the effort and results.

Though he thinks time must have had a hand in this, seeing as the realm was huge.

It did have a limit; Draco could feel it stopping somewhere with his senses, but it was more than enough for a group of 13 celestials to wonder around for years and never get bored by a single scene.

The area around here was like a small garden, the starry sky and the plants below only further accentuated its beauty, but he could still sense wider grounds aside from here—lakes, rivers, seas, and mountains—nothing was missing.

A single teleportation was enough for Draco to travel light years and arrive at the border of the realm.

Here, he could see what looked like a fortress, or more like the ceiling of some kind of tower.

Looking down, his eyes easily pierced through the clouds and looked down at the empire he teleported into right after finishing his condition of killing Fate.

"What were Fate's last words?" out of nowhere, a voice was heard close to where Draco was.

A single tear fell into Truth's eye, yet its significance was immeasurable.

"And here I thought I would never see you cry." Fate was still with his smile, he said. He couldn't control himself yet at the same time, he was eager to get closer to his friend.

Truth was even more so; he got up from his seat, stumbling; he didn't even know how he found himself in front of Face.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry, my friend. I- I was too weak; I couldn't do anything. I'm sorry, I'm-" Truth apologized again and again, his knees weak and his hands on Fate's robe, clutching them strongly as if they were scared that once again he would disappear.

"It's fine now; everything has ended; I already died. But it seems we were fated to meet once again. For the last time ever." Fate tapped Truth's shoulder. The haggard man looked up, his gaze looking deep at the endless warmth transmitted by the kindest soul to walk on this earth. Being reminded of this only contributed to further making him aware of his weakness.

Truth had a hard time controlling himself as his teeth were clenched together. What was the point of all this power if he couldn't protect what was dear to him or, at least... at least make the perpetrators pay the price?

Why? Why did they have to suffer from this when it wasn't even their fault in the first place? Was the mistake of one, completely unrelated to them, really a reason for them to lose all freedom and be beneath the feet of those stronger?

It was... unfair.

"Truth." Fate called on his friend for the last time.

"You're a good friend." were the final words to ever be heard by fate in this world... ever again.

*Thud*

When Draco returned, all he saw was the figure of Truth, who was on his knees. He was holding his arms as if they were the last hope he had and his head was down, looking at the ground.
