"Are you sure about this, honey?" Palkus' mother asked her husband while she looked at her slumbering son. She didn't know what prompted her husband to do what he did.
"I am; it was a direct command from the Lord." He replied, looking at his son worriedly.
"The lord?" The mother looked at her husband with her eyes wide open. What did the Lord want from their child?
"Yes, it seems our child has the highest potential amongst this new generation and that's why our lord chose to bless him." He replied, pride and a smile visible on his face.
"Really?" Hearing this, the mother was no longer worried, she was beyond happy.
"Yes."
"What a day! Now I can brag all I want that not only my husband but even my child is someone close to the Lord." The mother, thinking about the faces her friends will make when they learn of this, had a smug face.
"Altria, don't go around telling everybody; let our son grow in peace, we don't need anything unexpected to happen that could hinder our son's growth, not to mention jealousy." The father, hearing the plans of the mother, berated her. Here he was thinking about the best way to train his son and guarantee a smooth pathway towards achieving greatness and she was thinking of bragging.
"Is he ready?" Suddenly, a voice echoed behind them. The large room their child was sleeping in shouldn't be easy to enter, even for an Origin Emperor, just who...
"Lord!" The father, seeing Draco behind him, rose up from his position and kneeled on one knee. The mother followed suit, embarrassed by the way she looked in front of their benefactor.
"We're pleased by the Lord's visit!" The couple shouted in unison.
"No worries. Oh, it seems everything's going quite well. This young one shall be the ruler of Portalia." Draco took one look at the child sleeping and nodded. He had great plans for him; after all, how could the one he blessed be anything mediocre? He needed to benefit the most from him.

The next two months were a blur for Palkus' family. The young man woke up a few days later and asked his father all kinds of questions, seeing as he wasn't as intimidating as before.
What was a potential awakening? Why did they do that? Why does he have horns now? Why could he grow a tail and wings whenever he wanted? Why were his ears pointy, his hair white like his father and his eyes golden? Why...
did he feel so much stronger?
Slowly but surely, the father took his time to explain everything the child wanted to know.
Potential awakening was nothing but the removal of the limiter a goman is gifted right after birth
After Draco created the first ultimate form of the gomen that they fought Fate with and the first couples birthed children, there was a problem where the baby's body could not hold all of the powers his race had, so they most of the time died right after they were born.
Draco, the researcher, easily found a solution to this problem. After teaching this to every gomen, they managed to create a seal that didn't allow the young gomen to reach their full potential until their parents found them capable, which was usually after the age of 10 when a goman is already an E to B-Rank individual, depending on their progress.
This, in a way, was the reason the gomen didn't have the features of their parents until they awakened.
As for the other questions, the father just recounted how the gomen traversed the world and went from a small tribe in the mountains of the cursed forest to the strongest race in Portalia and potentially one of the most perfect races in the galaxy. Of course, the father knew nothing about the wider world above, but it still remained a fact.
They fought against dwarves, elves, vampires, and the phoenixes, then, right after that, the witches. They didn't stop there, as they moved to completely destroy the demons and lastly, they came back for the humans. Once they were considered on par with the beastmen, they fought against Fate, and now not even the mighty dragons were spared.
