Chapter 183: Palkus’ Journey!

[Important Note Before You Start Reading: I wouldn't recommend it, but if you're annoyed by Palkus' journey, you can just skip and read the chapters where this title doesn't appear. I personally would tell you to read it, since his journey actually introduces the world of Portalia, something that Draco skipped through.

His chapters will be many, as he has a large part to play in the story, Not only that, many of the important characters who will be long lasting will be introduced here. Though his story will be slow-paced, it will be like a POV that will be separated from Draco's actual story since time passes differently for both characters.

In conclusion, after every major event Palkus passes through, I will switch POVs. Draco's POV can happen many years after the last events described in Palkus' POV. And when there is a pause for Draco, like a few days or so, I will switch to Palkus.

All in all, Portalia and Palkus are too plot heavy to not be written about. it's fun, just read.]

-------------------------

Palkus entered the guild and the first thing he saw was the huge table right in front of him with quests for all professions; to his left was the counter and to his right was the pub.

The guild building here was much smaller than the one Draco went to when he was in the prison realm; in fact, there wasn't even a comparison. Aside from this hall, the guild only had a second floor and the underground arena. Compared to the city-sized guild of the station-That was long destroyed-this was but a simple building.

Looking around him, Palkus didn't find anyone that could help him, so he followed the instructions he knew of and went for the counter.

"Hello, I would like to join the guild." He politely asked.

A few minutes later, Palkus found himself within the underground arena of the guild.

The ground was filled with dirt to give the fighters the experience they more often than not have to deal with during a real fight.

It was but a small enclosed room—nothing too special; however, it was large enough for one to fight comfortably.

A group of adventurers was there, waiting in anticipation to watch the fight between Palkus and the trainer.

The trainer was a bulky, bald man, wearing nothing but black pants, his wide back muscles flexing for the world to see as he was looking for the right weapons they could use.

'Man, I forgot you had to take a test before you became an adventurer.' Pal thought in his mind, nervousness almost swallowing him. He applied to become an adventurer, an alchemist, and a blacksmith. At the moment, he was in the process of taking the test that would decide what adventurer rank he would be starting with.

'Calm down. let's use what master taught me and get this done with.' He breathed in and out as he quickly regained his calm, his aura concentrating around him.

"Guhaha, what fine eyes you have there, young lad. You'd make a fine warrior. Here, take this sword." The bulky man, who had just grabbed a sword for himself and one for Pal, turned to find the young goman's gaze focused on him.

"GURAAAH!" While the adventurers on the side were traumatized by the extreme actions Pal took to get out of his constraints, the trainer was pumped beyond belief.

*BOOOM*

A large dirt cloud appeared where Pal was located a moment ago. When it cleared, only the trainer was standing there, with Pal a few meters away, sword in hand.

"Valenstein Celestial Swordsmanship: Chaos Death." Pal muttered under his breath as the trainer got an ominous feeling.

"Tsk."

*Booom*

The bulky man got out of the way as he zigzagged all around the place, keeping his gaze focused on the young man.

'H- how?' Shock filled the adventurer, as what he was seeing shouldn't be possible.

He was an EX-Rank, his speed should be far faster than anything the young S-Rank could follow, so how? How was he staring right into his soul while he moved as fast as he could?

"Good, stop. You've done more than enough." The trainer stopped in his tracks, raised his hands, and gave up.

"You'll be starting out as an SSS-Rank, not because that's what you deserve but because to become an EX-Rank adventurer, you need an understanding rate." he explained.

Palkus, hearing this, dropped his sword, and his childish demeanor came back.

"Really? I passed? Cool!" He celebrated with his fist, the smile on his face warming the hearts of a few young girls who were just too shocked that someone younger than them managed to start up as an SSS-rank.

"Damn, is that who I think it is?"

"Yeah, it's him." Murmurs were heard around the room as the adventurers who were watching the fight were looking in the direction of the entrance to the arena.

"Ohla, isn't this our 'Lightening Prince'?" The trainer headed towards the weapon he first dropped and got it before he gazed at the entrance.
