"So, how did the mission go yesterday?" Emily, sitting on a table with Palkus on the other side, asked while the both of them looked out at the crashing waves.
"Nothing too hard, there were six of us so we easily took care of the rogue dragon." Palkus replied.
"Well, if it's you, then that much is obvious." Emily said while laughing.
"Haha, maybe." Palkus, not liking to boast too much as always, replied.
"..."
"How long is your break?" Palkus asked.
"1 week." Emily replied.
"I see..."
"I won't be having any missions this month either." Palkus added.
"Oh? Well I guess you don't have to." Emily said, knowing that for Palkus to evolve, he needed to fulfill two conditions that missions had nothing to do with.
"What are you planning to do next, then?" She asked.
"I will go check the blacksmiths guild to see when I can take the blacksmith king's test." Palkus replied, turning to look at Emily.
Many things were revolving around his mind, the information he had gained from her, the things he himself noticed, and just general knowledge from how she currently was.
Yes, Palkus was having a hard time making an important decision. He and everybody that went on to shape who he was today, including his master, his parents, and his race, all thought him should not take relationships as a game and only ever speak with a girl if you're planning on something serious.
"Emily..." Palkus called.
"Hmm?" Emily, not expecting the mood to turn this serious and for her name to be called, turned to face Palkus and the sharp eyes she got absorbed more times than she could count gazed at her once again.
"What is it...?" She tried to hold the gaze and not look down but that proved to be hard even for such a strong-willed woman like herself.
Silence drowned the couple for a few seconds as Palkus took his time to finally come to a conclusion.
"I want you." This was what came out of the young man's mouth.
"Huh?" Emily couldn't understand.
"Why's that?" Palkus, confused, asked.
"You should know that there's something going on on the central continent. Well, our king is there too." The elder answered.
"But don't worry too much, unlike that alchemist bastard, our's will be back in a few." He added.
"I see." Palkus nodded.
"When should I be back?" Palkus asked.
"Just be here in 2 weeks, we'll prepare everything you'll need by then." The elder replied with a smile.
"Alright, thank you very much." And the young man left the building.
Seeing as he had nothing to do, the first thing he thought of was the trip.
Thus, Palkus headed towards Emily's house.
Emily was living in a secluded area where fairly well-off families lived.
From house to house, there was quite a distance, as greenery surrounded the place.
There was a long dirt road that the cobalt paths of the houses connected with.
Palkus walked alongside the dirt road while taking in the beautiful scenery of this place, Behind him was the large city and bustling medieval streets.
Taking a turn, the first thing the young man saw was a young girl that was almost a carbon copy of his now girlfriend coming out with a pout.
"Amy, come back!" Right after, Emily came running after the young child and opened the door to her house, which was closed by the girl.
"Huh? Palkus?" Emily, seeing her boyfriend in front of her house, was surprised, but her sister, however, had other plans when she heard her calling the young man.
"Uwaaa! Brother, sister is bullying me!" Surprising both Palkus and Emily, Amy ran towards the young man and hugged him.
Palkus, not knowing what to do, just looked at Emily and started questioning her with his eyes.
"This little..."
