Chapter 211 211: Master Teacher Val! (1)

The barred gateway adjacent to where the previous beast was held opened up. Then, with a series of clanking sounds and a heavy thud that resonated throughout the coliseum, a monstrous creature stepped out.

The monster stood at nearly 7 feet tall, had moss-green skin and carried a thick, putrid stench thqt caused many people to scrunch up their noses in revulsion.

"Oh, how disgusting this monster smells. It's unbearable!"

The spectators, abuzz with both anxiety and fascination, began to chatter among themselves.

"What kind of monster is this?"

"It's a Mountain Troll, a level 50 beast. When they sprint, they cause tremors, and no cursed weapon below rank-3 can pierce through their hard, tough skin. On top of their formidable defenses, their regeneration ability rival's the healing skill of low-level priests and priestess of the Holy Church of Light. Taking one on is like battling both a warrior and a healer simultaneously."

"This sounds like an unfair matchup for any warrior!"

"Be careful about what you say. Mindlessly accusing the Coliseum's manager of unjustly troubling others is a serious crime."

"But what are the chances that a warrior would be paired up with a monster that is like their bane? Doesn't it sound fishy like someone is out to get him!"

"Take it as just his bad luck, and stop complaining."

Heavy cuffs, with chains trailing from them, were clasped around the monster's massive wrists, which were nearly the size of a cow's calf. Protruding from its lower jaw were two intimidating tusks, and its yellow eyes, filled with malevolence, scanned its surroundings.

As its gaze swept past the kids and the weak-hearted sitting in the spectator area, they felt terrified and looked away.

"What are you looking at them for? Your opponent is me."

The one speaking was Val. His voice was the embodient of peace. Each words he uttered were spoken so calmly it sounded like a soothing melody.

A question poppes up in everybody's mind.

Facing the nemesis of warrior, was he still unfraid?

He spoke to get its attention and it worked like magic.

The troll stopped looking around and turned to him, just like he had intended.

Finally, its gaze rested on Val, and it grinned hideously, exposing its rotten but sharp teeth.

Outwardly, Val glared back, looking extremely heroic. It seemed like even in the face of death, he would laugh. Even if he died, he would die laughing, ascending to the afterlife but not before establishing himself as a legend in everyone's heart. Truly, fearless people like him were rare.

Internally, he was wondering how he could use this situation to the best of his advantage.

'Should I make quick work of the troll to establish myself as Clea's equal. Or should I take a different route. Let's see what benefits are there,' His mind raced, coming up with different colorful ideas.

At the same time, in the spectator area, another conversation was going on between Lucious and Marshall.

"These Mountain Trolls aren't native to Eldrich. They stormed our world during a dungeon breach and claimed a part of the Wysmire Mountain range as their own through sheer force alone, living among the beasts and devils there. The fact that the Coliseum has enslaved one to use as attraction speaks volumes about their reach."

Lucious had a lot of good things to say about the Coliseum.

After all, they never cease to amaze him.

'Every time I visits, they've a new surprise waiting for me. This time, they have domesticated a Mountain Troll and send it out to battle the new member of the Destiny Walker, my family!'

"Lord, is a Troll mightier than a Red-Maned Ape?" a voice raised from beside Lucious. A man without a single of hair on his head was sitting beside Lucious, and he was the one who spoke.

It was none other than Marshall.

Although his strong presence was still there, it was greatly expressed. It showed he feared and respected Lucious, willing to humbly lower the intensity of his aura in his presence without being asked.

"Without a doubt! If Val can defeat this troll relying on physical strength and swordmanship alone, it would undoubtedly place him above Clea," Without a moment wasted, Lucious provided a comprehensive answer. In his eyes, this battle would last longer than an instant only if Val held back the majority of his power.

"You mean he has something else up his sleeves and if he were to use it, the troll won't stand a chance?" Marshall asked in bewilderment.

With the graceful smile eternally plastered on his face, Lucious, who looked unearthly with his golden hair that shone like the brightest sun and emerald eyes holding the beauty of a thousand forest, nodded his head.

Then, after extending a finger, an action that seemed unimaginably attractive because his fingers were long and narrow, so well-defined that they looked better than an famous art piece, he said softly, "If he were to go all out, one move would be enough to put down the troll."

Hearing his words, Marshall's jaw-dropped. What did he just hear? According to Lord Lucious, the young man, who was only a level 2 bloodline user when they first met, had already grown strong enough to one hit kill a level 50 monster.

'What a shocking news!' Marshall let himself breath.

Smack!

Meanwhile, the troll leered at Val and licked its lips. The impact of its tongue falling heavily on its lips produced the sound of flesh slapping against flesh.

For a moment, Val's eyes flashed with revulsion. The sight of the troll's thick, saliva-coated tongue sliding across its grey, cracked lips was truly disgusting.

His face showed a mix of disdain and amusement as he opened his mouth to taunt.

"A prey mistaking a predator for another prey. How laughable," Val quipped, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

The very next moment, he raised his hand and stretched out his his middle finger, displaying it confidently under the bright yellow sun.

Seeimg this, the onlooker felt so shocked it was unexplainable. Their eyebrows rose to meet their hairline. "Is he seriously taunting a level 50 beast that can shatter a hill with the force of its sprint?!"

Despite shocking everyone, Val continued taunting the mountain troll. Waving his outstretched middle finger back and forth in a provocative gesture, he beckoned the mountain troll to make its move.

"Come and get slayed," he spot out.

Though the troll was unfamiliar with the taunting gesture Val was making, it felt the blatant mockery behind his anger. Instantly, it was enraged.

How dare a human make fun of the great mountain troll?!

"I'm going to rip you apart!" After spitting words that sounded like gibberish to Val, it openes its mouth wide and flexed its stomach.

A glint of recognization flashed in Val's eyes. Instantly, he recognized what the Mountain Troll was up to. And then, he immediately took proper countermeasure to protect himself from the upcoming sonar attack.

GWOOOOO!

With a roar that echoed in the vast coliseum, the level 50 Mountain Troll released a torrent of shockwaves. These waves, visible to the naked eye, sped toward Val, intending to crush him.
