Chapter 264 261: The Lesser Dimension

Chapter 264 261: The Lesser Dimension

"Lastly, you should know that devils often make dimensions their hunting grounds. If you sense that you're being pursued by one, do not, I repeat, do not confront it unless you're certain of its abilities and have the utmost confidence in your ability to defeat it."

Marshall's voice carried an authoritative weight, making it clear that this was not advice to be taken lightly. Everyone absorbed his words with serious faces, fully aware that their very survival might depend on heeding his wisdom that he have selflessly shared with them as they prepared to take the next perilous steps into the lesser dimension.

Val, after listening intently to Marshall's thorough advice on navigating the dangers of the lesser dimension, felt compelled to explore a lingering question in his mind.

"Sir Marshall, you've told us a lot about what to expect and how to protect ourselves against the dangers of the lesser dimensions. But there's one thing that's been bothering me. Say someone in our group is really unlucky enough to encounter a devil in the lesser dimension, and they do not know whether they are strong enough to take it on. What would be their best course of action to avoid losing their life?" he asked.

Marshall looked Val squarely in the eye, seemingly pleased by the thoughtful question.

"If you find yourself in such an unfortunate situation, the first thing you should do is seek shelter. Find a cave, an alcove, or any kind of enclosure. Then hang the protective talisman I gave you at the entrance. This should create an invisible barrier strong enough to keep a devil from entering, saving your life in the process." Marshall replied curtly.

Marshall then took a deep breath and scanned the faces of everyone in the group.

"Well, I believe that covers everything I wanted to share. It's time for you to take action and invade the lesser dimension. I wish you all the best of luck."

After that, the group charged into the massive, dome-like structure that served as the gateway to the lesser dimension and vanished from sight.

Oliver and Val also followed suit.

Just as they were about to cross the threshold, Val suddenly raised his voice to call out to Oliver, who was a few steps ahead. "Oliver, wait up a second!"

At that very moment, Val also tossed an object through the air toward him.

Oliver stopped in his tracks and turned sharply at the sound of his name, his eyes meeting Val's just in time to see something being tossed toward him.

Reacting quickly, Oliver caught the object out of the air and looked down at his palm to see a finely crafted white ring.

Curious but also a bit puzzled, Oliver looked back at Val and inquired, "What's the meaning of this? Why are you giving me a ring now?" n--o)-v-)e-/l-)B).I/)n

Val gave Oliver a serious but comforting look.

"Put it on. It's a lucky charm that will help me get to you if we get separated in the lesser dimension," Val responded to him.

Oliver slid it onto his forefinger. The ring seemed to fit perfectly, almost as if it were custom-made for him.

Actually, Lucious didn't have children of his own, but he considered Oliver as his own son. He was overprotective of him. He had hand-made the Tracker using the materials he had collected over the years with the intention of wearing the black ring himself and making Oliver wear the white ring so that he would be there for him when he needed him the most.

However, as he couldn't accompany Oliver in the lesser dimension, he let Val have it.

Just as Oliver wore the ring, a notification materialized in Val's field of vision.

[The condition to activate the effect of the Cursed Item 'Tracker' has been met.]

[You, the owner of the black ring, have gained the active ability to track the wearer of the white ring at any time. The ability can be activated by infusing soul power into the black ring.]

Curious to see how it worked, Val poured his soul power into the ring.

The ring only devoured a few units of it before it worked its magic.

A semi-transparent screen appeared before him, displaying a terrain with a white dot on it.

The terrain closely resembled the area they were currently in, and he intuitively understood that the white dot symbolized Oliver's location. Moreover, noticing that no one else reacted to the screen, he surmised that only he could see it.

"Well, that's certainly good to know," Val thought, feeling a sense of relief that the Tracker would not draw unwanted attention.

"Thank you."

A heartfelt gratitude was evident in Oliver's expression as he spoke to Val. It honestly meant a lot to him that Val would go to such lengths to be of help to him. He was the second person besides his master who cared so much about him.

The people he was connected to by blood couldn't wait to get rid of me, but this person who was once just a stranger to him was doing so much to help him

Oliver sighed in heart. His own father never batted an eye when he was bullied and injured and his second brother was aiming for his life. Val, on the other hand, was dead set on helping him survive the assassination and live through difficult times. He was like the elder brother he always wished he had.

'Now that I think about it, he has fulfilled a wish of mine.'

Val didn't know but he have gave Oliver another reason to feel indebted to him.

"Like you said the previous time you helped me, who would I help if not a fellow Destiny walker?" Val said, earning a chuckle from Olver.

Oliver then took a deep, steadying his breath and then he stepped into the lesser dimension through its massive entrance.

Immediately, Val too passed through the dome to enter the lesser dimension.

As a result, the world around him blurred and shifted in an instant, leaving him momentarily bewildered as he found himself transported to an entirely different location within the lesser dimension.
