1372 Open During the Day, Close at Night! (3)
The shadow blocked all sunlight, rousing chaos below.
Many round creatures covered in white fur ran out of their houses and looked up at the sky. They pointed at the object and discussed fervently amongst themselves.
In the middle of the valley, inside a slightly bigger house—an old furry creature walked out in an unstable manner. His eyebrows were so long it was sweeping the ground.
Ren Gulan and the others walked out of the spacecraft and stared at the creatures below with a frown.
“What are those?” Ren Gulan frowned.
“They’re probably just locals.” Varian was surprised too. He sized up the furry creatures with interest. “Honestly, they do look exquisite.”
“Powerful martial warriors from the universe,” said an old voice somewhere below.
Ren Gulan looked down and fixed her gaze on the furry creature in the lead.
“He speaks the common universal language!” Varian was stunned.
“Since the planet’s location was leaked, it means that someone came here before. It’s normal for them to know the language,” Ren Gulan said.
“I don’t understand why anyone would come to this land of treasure and not take anything.” The young man with glasses shook his head.
Ren Gulan blinked, but didn’t comment on it.
To her, kindness was just an excuse for the weak. It was tantamount to stupidity.
“Powerful warriors, quick, come down,” said the old fellow, sounding a little nervous.
The martial warriors: ??
Ren Gulan and Varian were just as confused.
It didn’t sound like an invitation, nor was it an order.
“Leader, shall we head down?” Varian asked Ren Gulan.
“Let’s… huh?” Ren Gulan was about to nod when her expression changed. She looked at the peak of the mountain some distance away.
Their spacecraft was hovering halfway to the peak. The mountain went straight up into the clouds, making the top impossible to see. Naturally, they land their spacecraft up there.
However, three figures were dashing down the mountain right then.
The furry beings rushed back into their houses when they saw the three, disappearing in an instant. It was as if noticing some frightening presence.
“What is happening?” Varian was astounded.
Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh.
The three figures reached them in the blink of an eye.
They shared some similarities with the furry creatures, but they weren’t round. They were slender and muscular; they also had golden patterns on their white fur. The lines ended at their forehead, forming an occult symbol.
Their eyes were also golden, which gave off a cold and noble gaze as they stared at the mercenaries.
“Didn’t you say that their highest battle ability was the planetary stage?” Ren Gulan gritted her teeth as she spoke to Varian.
“Leader, I don’t know how this could happen.” Varian was frightened and overwhelmed by disbelief.
The incoming trio had a cosmos stage cultivation!
The scan never showed their presence.
Only Ren Gulan was at the cosmos stage; the rest of the group were at the celestial stage.
Did we dig our own grave?
“Idiot, we’ll talk about this when we get back,” Ren Gulan cursed angrily. There was no time to think; she turned, wanting to rush back to her spacecraft.
However, one of the figures cut her off, blocking her path.
“Move!”
Ren Gulan took a deep breath. She knew that a fight was inevitable, so she gave the creature a disdainful stare and took out her battle sword. She then slashed at the other party.
Boom!
Sword light cut through the air.
The being was unscathed. He stretched a hand and a golden ray of light was shot, shattering the sword glow, right before rushing towards the cold mercenary leader.
Ren Gulan’s expression changed. She chose to dodge, not daring to receive the attack.
Just then, the other two beings made a move, quickly flanking her and raising their hands. Golden rays flashed.
The adventuress felt the threat of death. She quickly retreated, but was still hit by some of the rays. Blood spurted out of her body.
She gasped and her pupils shrank. She knew she couldn’t beat them, so she quickly evaded.
However, she was injured; escaping wasn’t possible.
The three beings surrounded her, leaving her seriously injured soon after. There was no chance for her to resist.
The mighty trio captured her and her team, and then returned to the mountain peak, disappearing into the clouds.
Some time after the dust settled, the round creatures below finally walked out of their houses, looking scared and worried.
A few of the settlers spoke to the furry elder. The latter waved a hand and everyone returned to continue their activities, acting as if everything were normal.
Peace and harmony was resumed in the valley.
…
Inside the Flaming River spacecraft—Wang Teng stood in front of the Solar Dragon creature and circled it, wondering how to start his plan.
In the end, he had no choice but to take out his Lightning Slap and used it to smack the corpse’s head with it.
Swoop! Boom!
The power of the calamity lightning was released and the dragon corpse’s head was burned, as if struck by lightning.
