Wang Teng ignored all the comments floating outside and entered the giant battle fortress. Someone showed up to greet him.

It was Major Maxwell!

“Colonel Wang Teng, it’s been a long time!” The official saluted the young hero respectfully.

One could see there was genuine excitement to see Wang Teng in person.

“Major Maxwell, nice to see you.” Wang Teng saluted and said, “The welcoming party is huge!”

“Haha, everyone is willing to do it because it’s you. Besides, it’s an order given by the higher ups.” The major smiled and led the way. “Follow me.”

Wang Teng nodded and complied.

The pair walked through the gigantic ship. Wang Teng observed the place with curious eyes, finding that the place was practically a military base on its own. Security was tight; there were soldiers in various posts.

Fortunately, Maxwell was there to lead him and no one stopped them. If not, they would have wasted a lot of time just going over identity checks.

Wang Teng didn’t know that most of those martial experts recognized him. They would stop and salute if they met him along the way.

Even without the major’s help, he would have gone smoothly through the inspections by just using his name.

“We’re here!”

The two of them finally reached the fortress’ control center. The major stopped in front of a large metal door.

He knocked twice with light raps and a screen appeared to authenticate their identities. Then, the door was gradually opened.

“Colonel Wang Teng, please go in. General Fu Xinglan is already there waiting for you,” Maxwell said.

“General Fu Xinglan!” Wang Teng was startled, not expecting the general to be there.

He nodded at Maxwell and entered the room.

The place was a massive control room with many people bustling about. A familiar figure stood in front of a light screen.

That was the eternal stage martial warrior, General Fu Xinglan; the person who awarded him with the National Military Medal back on Defense Planet No. 29!

“General Fu Xinglan!” Wang Teng saluted while the latter’s back was toward him.

“You’re here!” General Fu Xinglan turned around and sized him up. He was surprised. “You’ve gotten stronger since I last saw you.”

Wang Teng’s heart skipped a beat. As expected of an eternal stage warrior. The general was able to notice his progress with a single look.

He was shocked, but his face didn’t show it. He said humbly, “I was lucky.”

“There’s no luck on the martial arts path!” Fu Xinglan shook his head. “Your talent is good,” he praised.

“You’re too kind,” said the young hero.

“Hahaha, Fu Xinglan is full of praise for you.” Peals of laughter were heard next to them.

Wang Teng quickly turned, clearly astonished. He didn’t realize who the two figures standing close to the general were.

The pair of experts were perfectly merged into their surroundings, as if they didn’t exist. Wang Teng wouldn’t have noticed them if they hadn’t spoken.

Two eternal stage warriors! Wang Teng squinted. He could not believe it.

Eternal stage!

There were two more eternal stage experts!

There were a total of three eternal stage experts, including Fu Xinglan!

It seemed that the empire was placing considerable emphasis on the League of Talents, to send three experts of such caliber.

That was the visible potential. Who knew if there were other formidable warriors hiding somewhere in the back.

Wang Teng took a deep breath. He had a new level of understanding for warriors of eternal rank.

They were terrifying existences. He would be incapable of discovering their presence if they wanted to stay concealed.

He had to wait for them to appear on their own.

“This is General Habakkuk,” General Fu Xinglan introduced.

The one presented was an elder with blond, fluffy hair, just like a lion’s mane. Bearded, with thick eyebrows, large eyes, and a rough look. He was the general who had spoken out of nowhere.

“General Habakkuk!” Wang Teng sized up the other in secret, suddenly recalling the golden haired Lion King. He saluted respectfully.

“All right, at ease.” Senior Habakkuk waved a hand while looking at the promising junior. “Not bad. I hope you’ll perform well in this League of Talents, bringing glory to the military.”

“I’ll do my best,” Wang Teng said with a stern attitude.

“This is General Tang Wuwei!” Fu Xinglan introduced the other eternal stage expert who had yet to speak.

The latter was expressionless, also appearing to be a little cold. His gaze was indifferent and aloof.

This is a cold fellow! Wang Teng wondered as he saluted.

“Yes.” General Tang Wuwei nodded in return.

“Wow, this is rare. You never nod when others greet you.” General Habakkuk laughed.

General Fu Xinglan looked at the cold peer, also surprised.

Wang Teng was confused. Am I already receiving special treatment?

A few young people standing at the side exchanged glances, clearly bewildered to see how amiably three eternal stage experts were talking to Wang Teng.

“They are the military talents who will also take part in the League of Talents.” General Fu Xinglan pointed to those youngsters. “You can take this chance to get to know one another.”
