1743 Return! Freshmen Leaderboard! (4)
“That’s all I have to say. Your future depends on yourself.”
The man in white closed his eyes. He didn’t plan to say anything else.
However, his words impacted everyone greatly, leaving them in turmoil and uncertainty.
It was obvious that the Freshmen Leaderboard was a must-contend spot for these new students unless someone could ignore all the benefits it could bring.
But, just the opportunity to become a disciple of an instructor from the academy was already irresistible to them!
One of the main reasons why these talented martial warriors came to the Stellar Academies was because of the academy’s instructors.
If these eternal-stage martial warriors could become their masters, their growth would be faster.
Rumors even suggest that there were existences beyond the eternal stage within the academies, and they represented the true depth and strength of the academies.
All the top talents from the various territorial domains secretly hoped to gain the favor of eternal-stage and above martial warriors. This would be a true step towards reaching the pinnacle!
Of course, none of the talented martial warriors dared to voice out their thoughts. It would be audacious and unrealistic for them to speak of such matters.
At this moment, everyone was determined to shine on the Freshmen Leaderboard.
Wang Teng’s eyes shimmered too. He viewed this matter with high importance.
If he was going to do it, he wanted to be the best. His goal was those above the eternal stage.
If he could gain the favor of those formidable warriors and become their disciple, the Parkers Family wouldn’t be a threat.
“Wang Teng, this is a good opportunity.” Yue Qiqiao’s eyes shone brightly. She said via voice transmission, “If we can find a strong backing, we won’t have to worry about our business being suppressed.”
“Acknowledging a master isn’t that simple. Those powerful martial warriors will want to observe us for some time first.” Wang Teng wasn’t that optimistic. He hesitated for a moment before continuing, “Now that we’re back, we can start our business and accumulate more points. They will be useful later.”
“Agree.” Yue Qiqiao nodded in agreement with Wang Teng. Then, she asked curiously, “Have you advanced to the cosmos stage? I can’t tell your stage at all!”
When she asked this question, Yu Yunxian and Boret looked over. They were curious too.
“Guess!” Wang Teng gave a mysterious smile.
“Hmph.” Yue Qiqiao snorted. “I don’t even need to guess. You must have achieved a breakthrough.”
Wang Teng smiled. He didn’t say much and used his Real Eye to look at Yue Qiqiao. “I can tell that you have advanced too.”
“Seriously, I can’t hide anything from you.” Yue Qiqiao knew that Wang Teng had a way to see through her ability so she felt exasperated.
“Boret, you advanced too.” Wang Teng looked at the Treant beside him.
“I was lucky.” Boret gave a somewhat “unpleasant and sinister” smile.
“There’s no such thing as luck in a breakthrough.” Wang Teng gave him a meaningful look.
This Treant wasn’t simple. Anyone would be stupid if they got fooled by his humble appearance.
“Wang Teng, you must have achieved a breakthrough too but I can’t tell,” Boret said earnestly, with a hint of helplessness in his voice.
This was a test!
He was sure that Wang Teng had a breakthrough but he couldn’t see it.
If he couldn’t see it, it meant that there was a certain degree of uncertainty.
Wang Teng smiled. He looked at Yu Yunxian and frowned. “Brother Yunxian, did you meet any trouble?”
He didn’t ask directly. He could see that Yu Yunxian hadn’t broken through the celestial stage.
He felt a certain camaraderie with this crown prince, which prompted him to ask.
Yu Yunxian was not one to speak much, but he sensed the concern in Wang Teng’s words and explained, “My situation is somewhat special.”
That was it!
However, one sentence was rare enough.
Wang Teng nodded in deep thought. He knew Yu Yunxian’s condition so he didn’t probe further.
Yue Qiqiao glanced at Yu Yunxian and thought of something.
This Crown Prince was once contaminated by the dark Force.
However, she didn’t say much either. Some things were better left unsaid. It was enough as long as she knew it herself.
“Oh right, why were you struck by lightning?” Yue Qiqiao turned and asked Wang Teng curiously.
Wang Teng was speechless. “we can still be good friends if we don’t talk about this.”
“Tsk!” Yue Qiqiao pouted. “The more you say this, the more curious I am.”
Even Boret and Yu Yunxian looked at Wang Teng curiously.
No one would get struck by lightning for no reason!
There must be something fishy going on.
However, Wang Teng remained tight-lipped. They were itching with curiosity but they couldn’t do anything.
The spacecraft returned to the cosmos-stage residential area and dropped off Wang Teng and his friends. Then, it flew away without turning back.
After a month, Wang Teng felt a little nostalgic when he returned to his lodging.
“When do you plan to fight for the ranking on the Freshmen Leaderboard?” Yue Qiqiao asked.
“There’s no hurry. Let’s go back and have a comfortable bath, a meal, and a rest.” Wang Teng stretched his back and said calmly, “If they love to fight. Let them fight.”
“You have a big heart,” Yue Qiqiao said.
“Do you know how to fight for the Freshmen Leaderboard?” Wang Teng asked.
“We can go and check. The academy’s intranet surely has some information about it,” Yue Qiqiao suggested, admitting that she also didn’t know the details.
“Why are you so impatient when you don’t know?” Wang Teng was frustrated.
“I’m not impatient. I just want you to go first.” Yue Qiqiao smiled slyly.
“F**k!” Wang Teng rolled his eyes. “I almost got fooled by you.”
“Haha, I’m just a weak woman with limited strength. I’ll let powerful people like you go first,” Yue Qiqiao said shamelessly.
“Do you even believe what you just said?” Wang Teng glared at her and walked towards his estate. “I’m leaving. We’ll talk later.”
“Seriously, everyone is eager to compete for the ranking but you’re so calm and composed,” Yue Qiqiao shook her head and turned to walk back to her manor. She waved at Boret and Yu Yunxian. “See you later.”
Boret and Yu Yunxian exchanged glances with each other and nodded. Then, they went back to their manor.
They didn’t seem to be in a hurry to fight for the ranking either.
Wang Teng entered his manor and opened the door with his account on his wristwatch. He sighed. “I wonder when Round Ball will be able to complete its life transition. It’s so troublesome without it.”
In the past, he didn’t need to open the door himself when entering.
After returning to the manor, Wang Teng went to wash up. He felt refreshed as if all the bad luck he brought out from the Chaotic Uncharted had been swept away.
Then, he took out the Force dishes he kept in his space ring and ate them to his heart’s content.
“Burp!”
He burped and lay on the soft five meters bed. Wang Teng didn’t want to do anything now.
He thought for a moment and took Cao Jiaojiao out of his Space Fragment. She was his subordinate so he had to make good use of her.
“Come, give me a massage.” Wang Teng turned over and said to Cao Jiaojiao.
Cao Jiaojiao finally managed to catch her breath after coming out, only to realize that it was for a massage. She couldn’t help but curse in her heart. Bastard!
“Why are you standing there? Hurry up,” Wang Teng urged.
Cao Jiaojiao bit her lips and walked forward with a humiliated expression. She kneeled on Wang Teng’s back…
