Chapter 25: Chapter 25 Why sit so far away?
Editor: Atlas Studios
Looking at the limited edition Rolls-Royce, Gu Qiangwei couldn’t imagine just how rich Qin Sijue really was.
“Was that Qin’s grandmother’s car just now?”
As soon as Li Yuan walked into the living room, he saw Qin Sijue sitting on the couch with a headache, knowing all too well why the old lady had come here.
Upon hearing the sound, Qin Sijue turned his head and saw two figures walking through the door.
His dark gaze lingered on Gu Qiangwei’s face for two seconds before withdrawing.
“My luggage!”
The moment Gu Qiangwei entered the room, she saw a white suitcase placed in the living room.
Qin Sijue lifted the curtain and glanced at her, then glanced at Li Yuan.
How come the two of them had arrived together?
Feeling his deep gaze, Gu Qiangwei paused, her hand reaching for her luggage froze and withdrew for some reason.
“That, this is mine…”
Qin Sijue watched her but didn’t speak.
“Are you here just to get your luggage?” Seeing the situation, Li Yuan couldn’t help but speak up.
Gu Qiangwei nodded at him and revealed a faint smile, “Mhm.”
Yet that smile made Qin Sijue, who was already in a bad mood, feel even more depressed!
Unintentionally, Gu Qiangwei noticed that the man was not in a good mood, and thought it would be wise not to provoke him and better to leave as soon as possible.
She turned to Li Yuan, “Could you take me away again?”
Having been here once, she knew it was impossible to hail a cab here; the only way to leave was for him to take her away.
It seemed that Li Yuan was quite willing to oblige!
“Of course, no problem!”
Gu Qiangwei smiled, dragging her suitcase and preparing to leave.
“Don’t you want your phone?”
As she turned around, she heard Qin Sijue’s voice from behind her.
Gu Qiangwei stopped for three seconds, then reached into her bag to feel around, indeed finding no phone.
She turned back, her eyes landing on the distinguished man sitting on the couch.
“Where’s my phone?”
“Don’t know.”
“…”
How could he not know!
But as the words reached her lips, Gu Qiangwei didn’t know how to refute him.
Immediately after, Qin Sijue’s sharp gaze swept toward Li Yuan.
Making eye contact with him, Li Yuan seemed to understand something all at once, and suddenly spoke up, “Well, I have something else to do, I should leave.”
As his voice faded, he turned and left.
Gu Qiangwei wanted to say something, but Li Yuan’s figure had already disappeared at the entrance.
Now that he was gone, how was she supposed to leave the place?
In the silent living room, only Qin Sijue and Gu Qiangwei remained.
Standing there, Gu Qiangwei didn’t know how to start speaking, seeing that the man seemed to be in a very bad mood?
Should she perhaps try to comfort him first and then ask for her phone back?
“Are you in a bad mood?”
For the first time in twenty-six years, Qin Sijue heard someone ask if he was in a bad mood because usually when he looked gloomy, nobody dared to approach and ask, and his family had never used such a common tone to inquire about his well-being either.
A subtle emotion flickered and surged through his beating heart.
He looked up, his deep black eyes landing on Gu Qiangwei’s face.
“Sit down.”
Faced with this unexpected command, Gu Qiangwei hesitated for two seconds before moving to sit not far from his side.
“Why so distant?”
“…”
Gu Qiangwei was bewildered.
What did he mean by so distant? Wasn’t this a perfectly normal distance to sit? After all, they had just met, hadn’t they? Who would sit so close for no reason?
But since he had mentioned it, and to get her phone back, Gu Qiangwei scooted a bit closer to him.
