"Will I be clothing this exquisite man beside you?" he asked, inspecting the model in front of him.
"Yes!" Qian Meng agreed. "Daniel, meet Mo Qingchen."
Daniel froze for a second before resuming composure. "Qian Meng, you are buying clothes for your arch-nemesis? I have heard how you gritted your teeth about him and your jaws still hurt!" he teased.
"Shut up," Qian Meng hissed. "Get me to the changing and trial rooms and do the meeting with him there. He will bail if I am not beside him." She rolled her eyes.
Mo Qingchen glanced at her but didn't contradict it.
Qian Meng was trying on clothes and going through the fitting process while Daniel walked Mo Qingchen through material and styles.
"Why is there so much to go through? I thought you could only have so many things to wear," Mo Qingchen groaned.
"And that's why you spent your life wearing t-shirts and jeans," Qian Meng countered. She hissed when a pin pricked her skin and the girl apologized.
Mo Qingchen looked up immediately and after appraising the damage, started to rub the fabrics between his finger to understand what would be comfortable.
Her phone buzzed. And it kept buzzing.
Mo Qingchen glanced at it and sighed. "Qian Meng, it has been released," he informed.
Qian Meng sucked in a deep breath. "Well, it is about time. No use getting excited yet," she admitted. "Keep my phone in your hand and only pick up calls from Li Min and Li Jun, okay?"
"Okay." He didn't pick up the calls but he stopped talking to Daniel and scrolled through his phone. He put his earphones on and listened to the video uploaded to Qian Meng's social media.
The blue tick beside her name was jarring. Mo Qingchen was sure he had an account that his secretary ran, but he had no clue what went on it. Neither did he care.
Mo Qingchen saw her sitting in her office, on the same couch he had sat and played chess with Bai Yu. Behind her was the wide work desk and the logo of Venus watermarked on the wall.
Qian Meng opened with an introduction, who she was, what she had done so far in her career, her degrees, and recommendation. She also made an introduction to Bai Ye Qing, his career so far, his degree, and his recommendation. And after the introduction, Qian Meng explained that she did wreck Bai Ye Qing's car because allegedly he was cheating multiple women financially and emotionally. Furthermore, she thought that his advances were uncomfortable and aggressive. She went on to say that they would have no connection with one another due to personal and professional disagreements and any other comments made by her or any other person involved in this case claiming Bai Ye Qing's personal behavior was deplorable was false and that Qian Meng was sorry if Bai Ye Qing or anybody else was hurt by this.
In essence, anyone who saw the video understood exactly who Bai Ye Qing was, and even if Yun Qian Meng didn't say it in words, it was clear she thought very bad things about Bai Ye Qing.
Right after being uploaded to her social media, the video was shared by all Venus social media accounts, and a subsite under the company website was created showing the video and all the related documents, including the threatening letter the lawyer sent in his firm paper.
Mo Qingchen looked up at Yun Qian Meng with awe.
"You saw it?" she chuckled when she saw his expression. "What do you think?" she asked.
"Beautifully played. Isn't this going to come back to you, though?" he asked, just in case.
"Nope. I followed the agreement down to the last letter," she prompted. "Ah! I need to text the link to Bai Ye Qing and apologize to Mr. Bai for the raucous." She pulled the phone out of Mo Qingchen's hand and smiled.
She copied the links, pasted them in the message, and added a short line. [That settles the matter. Don't contact me ever again.]
Sent.
She then typed out a message to Mr. Bai.
[Uncle, as promised, I did not reveal any of his criminal activity. I have dropped all charges against him and only published the material regarding the case which will clear my name.]
She closed the cellphone and turned to Mo Qingchen with a smile.
"Li Min has already tipped off the media houses as per the agreement. They will be covering it in detail. Now, we need to wait for public opinion to come in. What do you think?" she asked. Her eyes gleamed with excitement.
"Beautifully done," Mo Qingchen praised without a thought. "I'll be convinced it was perfectly done if the news covers favorably. How are sales?" he prompted.
Qian Meng smacked her lips together. "More things added to the cart. I haven't received information about more sales. Let a few hours pass and we will have some definite numbers on how the news was taken."
Mo Qingchen nodded. "Numbers and sales speak true, don't they?"
And then he smirked. "I'll be right back," he prompted. He got up before Qian Meng could ask what he was up to and walked out of the room.
Once outside, he called the one number he had never thought he would call.
Su Jin. She picked the phone up after two rings.
"Mr. Mo, how can I help you?" she asked hesitantly.
"I have a proposal for you," he began. It was the weird superiority that stunned Su Jin. She stopped and sat up straight. "I assume you have seen Yun Qian Meng's video…"
She grew silent. "I have. Do you want me to do an expose?" she asked. She would flat out deny if that was the case.
"Absolutely not. Get the primetime slot and debate it," he said calmly. "Pick apart issues of financial and emotional violence and how this has affected the company. Get a team of specialists in. You know what to do," he prompted.
