After my short encounter with Kin, it was time for us to gather and finish our second exam.

We’re currently still in the second of 5 days, with around 90 hours remaining but there is no reason for us to spend all our time in the forest when our primary objectives are done.

There is one failure though, which is Anko's role.

She was unable to convince Yugao to let her inside the forest to search for Orochimaru and sensing no further disturbances it was decided to not let Anko or any Anbu search the training ground before the exam was finished.

This was not completely unexpected, it just means plan A-1 is a failure and we move on to plan A-2, following Anko's wishes.

We might as well head for the tower and get some proper rest while waiting for the rest of the teams to finish.

For now, let’s rendezvous where Sakura is camped.

I have no doubt we could just meet up in the tower in less than a couple of hours but Hinata has company slowing her down which we need to take sort out first.

A couple of hours later, after taking a couple of detours to avoid other teams I cover my tracks before approaching the hollow tree Sakura is hiding within.

The tree is hollow and the only entrance in a tunnel with its entrance disguised underneath seemingly solid ground making it one of the most secretive safe zones in this Forest of Death.

Anko frequently breeds snakes in this forest and built this place by herself so we can be certain no other team knows about it.

I make my way inside, hiding the entrance behind me.

“Yami, welcome.”

“Sakura.”

I walk in and kiss Sakura’s lips hungrily.

“Yes Karin, you can make it your home, or if you find you don’t like us we will help you find your own home, we’re you'll be safe.”

Tears well up in Karin’s face as they make their way to Sakura and Yami’s location.

A few hours later just as the last rays of sunlight start disappearing and the sky goes from red to dark they reach their destination after almost an entire day of slowly trudging.

“Sorry for their appearances but these are my teammates Sakura and Yami.”
