"The flames of despair which consume till the object is out of existence! They embody the despair of those with great power!
"Wow, classic!" Rex grinned as he looked at the sword
Behold thou art bested one of the heads of the Hydra but dost thou have the power to wield it longer?!" Cronus commented as he noticed Rex's excited tone after seeing the sword's power
"Way to go, spoiling the mood!" Rex retorted as if on cue, the system notification he hated the most popped up in his view
{System alert: 0/65 Aether}
The sword in his hand started disintegrating bit by bit until it was gone. "Talk about a limited time offer" Rex facepalmed.
Jefferson was in awe at Rex's actions. He had so many questions in his mind. Just where had Rex gotten such a powerful sword from and just where did the sword suddenly go now? He looked at the Hydra which was throwing a tantrum, furiously roaring in pain and thrashing around its long serpentine tail.
"Hmm...whatever that kiddo just pulled off... might be our only chance of winning this," Jeff clenched his fists and Aether gathered around his right hand. He raised his left hand in the air to signal to the soldiers who had kept on firing at the now-dazed Hydra.
The Hydra at this time, realizing that one of its heads was gone due to Rex's black flames, bit off the head with its middle head and spat it away. Surprisingly, nothing grew out of it anymore. It was now left with eight heads. Its middle head which had touched the flame was surprisingly unhurt.
"Guess even Hydra's have their off days," Rex said, giving a shrug. "Maybe it just needs a snack or something."
"Enough firing everyone!" Jefferson commanded
Immediately, all of the soldiers ceased fire as they turned to Jefferson awaiting the new order.
"We will now strike with our abilities! Act as a team and use your abilities to it's best! We need to take down this beast while it is dazed! This is our only chance" Jefferson dropped his left hand after talking. The Aether in his right hand, at this time, had formed into a large sword. The sword overflowed with Aether.
"What's that? A remake of my sword?" Rex grunted as he saw Jefferson's new move.
"Nay! It is just a mere sword with advanced slicing and piercing capabilities as a result of him using Aether!" Cronus remarked
"Heck! I know that already!" Rex quickly entered and ran away from the ongoing chaos. He hated to admit it but right now, he was just weak before this monster without his Aether. After arriving at a secluded spot, he entered a meditative state, drawing in AEther to fill his reserves.

As Rex settled into his meditative stance, he tried to block out the sounds of chaos from the battlefield, the roars of the Hydra, and the cries of his fellow soldiers. He focused inward, visualizing the flow of Aether, feeling it begin to seep back into his veins.
Meanwhile, the battle continued in full force. Jefferson, his Aether-forged sword glimmering, pressed his attack, delivering powerful, precise strikes at the Hydra's thick hide. The remaining heads lashed out in a frenzy, snapping and spewing elemental attacks at the soldiers who dodged and countered with their unique abilities.
"Don't falter! Stay together!" Jefferson bellowed, parrying a strike from the Hydra's head that came dangerously close to taking him out. He then lunged forward and slashed another wound into the creature's neck, but the Hydra refused to be weakened, thrashing about more viciously.
High above, a winged soldier dove into the fray, conjuring a swirling vortex of wind that struck one of the heads, sending it reeling back. The wind-wielder yelled to his teammates, "I need a follow-up, now!"
The fire-wielder from earlier stepped in, her hands igniting into fierce flames. "Let's cook this bish!" She hurled a blazing fireball into the stunned Hydra's head, causing it to flinch. The combination attacks were buying the soldiers precious moments, but every move required immense coordination.
Jefferson glanced around, searching for Rex, who was conspicuously absent. Where did that kid go? He wondered, desperately hoping Rex had some plan that would turn the tide of this battle. We can't keep this up forever.
The Hydra's middle head reared back, its serpentine eyes narrowing. With a guttural roar, it summoned a surge of dark energy that erupted from its mouth. The soldiers scattered, narrowly avoiding the devastation that ripped apart the ground, leaving a smoldering crater in its wake.
"Fall back and regroup!" Jefferson ordered, sweat streaming down his face. His grip on his Aether sword tightened. If this keeps up, we'll be overwhelmed.
Suddenly, a loud voice came from behind, cutting through the chaos like a trumpet call. "For the love of Zeus's missing sandals, how does anyone operate these tiny little devices?!" The battlefield paused, if only for a split second, as a man stomped onto the scene, waving a rather abused-looking smartphone in one hand.
He was enormous, even for a demigod. With muscles that looked like they could bench press a mountain, he carried a massive club over one shoulder. His beard was wild, and his lion-skin cloak billowed dramatically. However, all that godly presence was ruined by the absolute look of confusion on his face as he glared at the phone.
"Jefferson!" He bellowed, his voice a mix of annoyance and booming authority. "I'm telling you, this thing is cursed! I tried calling you, but it kept telling me I was 'out of data.' What in Tartarus is data anyway?!"
Jefferson groaned, though a small grin tugged at the corners of his lips. "Master, glad you could make it... even if your struggles with technology are as legendary as your strength."
The man huffed, shoving the phone into his lion-skin cloak. "Bah! It's all nonsense. Back in my day, we just used smoke signals or shouted really loudly." He then surveyed the chaos, eyes narrowing at the Hydra. "Well, well, you've got yourselves a lovely bit of trouble here."
