Since Zou Yue was grounded, he could not even step out of the house without his mother's supervision. He had to bite his lips and order the things he wanted online. The prices were doubles of course with the delivery charge and such. But he had no other way.
The new house was not completely secure yet, so he was reluctant to keep the stock in it. As per his previous plan, he booked a small warehouse nearby the house. It was just a few kilometres away.
"Now all I have to do is order stuff." he plopped onto his bed with a piece of orange in his mouth. Even Trexa gran was enjoying her mandarin orange with relish. He gently caressed her head and continued shopping.
The stuff he wanted to buy this time was non perishables like legumes, chilli powder and other spices they would use day to day.
Each of these he ordered in bulk amount like two hundred packages or something. Thankfully, this was a bulk order buying website so his payment was slightly lower than regular shopping app.
As for ginger and garlic, he made the decision to buy them in powdered form.
"We can grow some at the house. Maybe I should plant some when I go there next time." He mumbled to himself as he rolled around onto his chest.
Soya sauce and other kind of sauces he did not want to buy before he could arrange a refrigerated space for them....
"wait why don't I ask uncle to make the whole attic into a freezer. Can it be done?"
The temperature in that village was not that hot, so it was completely possible. He just needed to do some more construction work on it.
He made a swift call.
Uncle informed him that it was possible. The room he had prepared was already insulated with iron sheets all over so only the temperature regulator had to be installed there and that attic will be converted into a walk-in refrigerator.
Just listening to this, Zou Yue got exited. "That's good news. Please make sure to start that construction. About the previous construction, I will make the payment today. How much is it?"
"Ten thousand dollars, but you only have to give me eight."
"Ei, I won't do that. Send me your account number. I'll send it right away,"
After paying the uncle ten thousand he was left with sixty-seven thousand dollars but the recent online orders came up to the amount, two thousand leaving him with just sixty-five thousand dollars.
"I have to buy rice..." he silently walked out the door to his mother who was sitting with a cup of tea in hand. "mum..."
"Yue come sit. Have some tea." she handed him a small cup.
"Mum, I have a question,"
"if it's about you being grounded, it's no use asking about anything,"
"No, no, I want to know where we buy our rice..."
"From the supermarket, Yue is everything alright." She gently touched his forehead.
"Everything is good mum, it's just that.. You know manger Mu right, his wife aunty Ling wants to start a convenient store. For that she needs to source raw materials and other products... if you can ask old uncle Wen he might be able to tell us right?"
"Yeah, your uncle Wen definitely has connections. I will ask him for you."
Old uncle Wen was their family friend to be precise he was his father's best friend from childhood. They always go fishing or even go on single trips together. But as time went on, they became distant.
"Last time your father contacted him when you were sick. I heard his son is a doctor or a scientist or something..... Much better idea, why don't we go meet uncle Wen and talk to him in detail,"
"yes~~"
The next day they three got ready, his father through reluctantly came along with them.
"Honey, don't have that sour expression. He is your only friend. It's high time you talk with him,"
"Who said he my only friend," his father mumbled with a pout.
"Okay, you are his only friend, okay. Talk your problems out okay," his mother patted his father's shoulders.
Watching their exchange, Zou Yue slightly regretted his decision to stay single. 'Maybe if I find someone I really love I might have a family too.... but what am I thinking!'
'It's going to rain zombies and I can't afford to take care of another person. My powers...... It's nonexistent. I can only take care of my parents,'
