"It's finally happening..." Liwei glanced out the windows. A strange sense of fear and exhilaration filled his being as he watched the small ashes flutter down.
He did a quick job of arranging all of his stock and check if all the entrances in his house were secure.
He was present in a stylish mansion he bought with his own money. It was quite close to the military barrack and was also very close to Qian Wen's father's place.
The place was the most strategic location. Not only was he near safe military officers, but he was also close to the natural farm in Wen's property.
In his previous life, the G city military had the least number of zombies only because they were stationed in underground quarters.
The initial contact with the ash was the first way the virus spread. The few minutes later the virus became airborne.
After which, the zombies did a great job at spreading it to other surviving population.
Bai Liwei hummed softly. He had nothing else to do but to watch it all happen. In his last life he was with Fan Xui and Qian Wen enjoying their evening in a restaurant but this time he was all alone.
He sighed softy. "it's better to be alone. Humans can't be trusted." He glanced at his wrist with a small smile. "When I become powerful, everyone will follow me. I don't have to chase after those two. They treat me worse than trash,"
Every time he went running to Fan Xui or Qian Wen, they both acted as if they were super busy. It was blatantly obvious that they both were ignoring him.
"Those losers. That brainless scientist and that blind idiot can just go and die. I can be the apocalyptic king in this life. I have the food supply after all." he proudly glanced at his stock.
Liwei chuckled as he filed his nails down. With a clean hand, he opened the door and placed it outside, letting the ash land on his skin.
It was a form of assurance.
His space ability was very special. The food doesn't rot in there. It was how he was able to secure a place next to Fan Xui and Qian, but in fact his powers were the most important during missions.
Without his space powers, those idiots would not have survived that long.
Few humans started to faint on the road.
He hurriedly ran back to his bed and laid down comfortably. He touched the ask in-between his fingers. "When I wake up I'm going to have my powers back."
His eyes focused on his empty wrist.
'This life I am going to be the powerful. They have to kneel under my foot,'

Peng Qui casually glanced out the door. The serene paddy fields and small houses were seen in the distance.
Village life really suited him. After moving here, he initially stayed in Yue's house but after a while he got in contact with Bohai. They both started in search for a house.
Sadly, most of the houses were filled up. Bohai kindly offered his house for rent. The middle-aged man willingly moved to his mother's place.
Suddenly, he heard a small clattering sound. Small rocks were flying down from the sky.
He hurriedly closed the windows and the door, hugging himself tight.
Just a few minutes ago, he got a call from Uncle Zou Wei that a huge zombie apocalypse was going to happen today. To be honest he still did not believe it at all.
Yue's mum only said that there was going to be a political unrest, but now he just heard an absurd story that there were going to be zombies roaming all around.
'Can it be true... would it really happen?' he glanced at the bookshelf where he had carefully stored Yue's book. He was not a book person, so he did not read it as of now.
"Agh, I'm thinking too much. It won't possible. It can't... happen...."
He switched on his computer ready to edit his photos but the PC sparkled and switched off, letting out a small cloud of smoke.
"You've got to be kidding me..." he tiredly leaned on the chair, rolling it side to side. "Agh, it's all because of that Qian Wen! Why did he ditch me like that!!"
Just after arranging a date on Friday, that stupid guy decided to bail on him saying that he had an important project in his office.
He tried to prod but Qian Wen was surprisingly good at keeping secrets. He only sat that it was a national secret, and it wasn't meant to be shared with civilians.
'Whatever kind of secret would that be? That bastard! How could he just ditch me right after we started dating. Ugh...' he grumbled, rotating his chair around. He felt the worlds twirl around.
'Maybe I should not have committed myself to that guy so soon' he thought, biting into his nails.
The feeling he felt was real. It was definitely that 'doki doki' heart beat when One was in love.
But they just moved so fast. It was the reason that he was in a situation like this.
'I should break up. Sadly, he was such an innocent cabbage. I just wanted to pick him up before anyone could eat him. emmmm..." he moaned, hugging his bent knees.
'Shit, I can't change my mind. I can't stay with a guy who keeps secrets from me and barely spends time with me. It's not what I want,'
He furiously started to type his message, but his phone also stopped working.
Only a black screen faced his way.
"Ugh, not this too. Why is all my technology going on a strike against me? Is this terminator war? Are the computers going against me now?" he shouted, tapping the phone in his hand.
Suddenly, the light went out.
"What the hell is going on? Is it really the end of the world?"
His mind went woozy for a while.. he leaned back as much as he can in his chair but after one point he lost balance and toppled down unconscious.
