Chapter 414: Chapter 22 - An alien

Chen blankly gazed at the door, and then at the young man who looked at him anxiously. "S-sorry, I can fix that," he picked it up and tried to fit it back into the door frame. But the door slipped off and fell to the ground once again.

It was to be noted, this was no ordinary door. His father had specially made the doors and walls of the isolation chamber with tungsten carbon steel that could not be broken or melted easily. But this man simply pulled it off the hinges.

"He must be a physically able type," Chen thought.

He took the door out of the man's awkward hands. "Do you wish to speak to your friends?"

"Yes! Yes, please," the man smiled happily but still stood in the room.

"Well..." Chen gestured for him to come out.

"But you said I'm infected."

"Yeah, it won't spread by air, and I can deal with your puny body if you do change. Come," he pulled the man out to the radio room.

This person might be infected, and talking to his loved ones might be the last kindness he could offer.

"How did you find them so soon?" the young man whispered as he gazed at the radio device. "You can talk through this... it looks so antique."

"It's new tech, man," Chen switched it to their frequency. "Calling from base, Chen speaking, can you hear me over."

A second later, a static voice followed by, "Base B answering, Harris here."

Sky's eyes widened. "This is good technology," he whispered.

Chen asked him to keep quiet. "Can you help me find the resistant Kyle and Kaden?"

"Kyle and Kaden?" the man Harris seemed doubtful.

"The new rescue."

"Oh, the whiteys."

"Huh?" Chen frowned slightly.

"No, we nicknamed them whiteys because they were wearing white, you know."

Chen cast a glance at Sky, who was unconsciously touching his shirt. "Can I talk to them? I have one of their friends."

"I'll explain it when we meet up. And, Sky, you must not come out! Don't ever go out of that base! There are monsters outside that will literally eat your flesh."

Sky trembled at this. "I saw one."

"WHAT!!! Did it hurt you?" Kyle sounded panicked at this.

"No, I ran. And Chen rescued me," he mumbled, scratching his foot.

"Oh, thank God. Sky, you cannot go out at any cost! One bite or scratch from those monsters will turn you into a monster! You stay safe, okay. I'll come find you, and we... we will find a way to go back."

"Okay," Sky whispered softly. "How's Kaden?" He started to talk about random things.

Outside, Chen stood with a deep frown. He had heard everything they both were talking about. Most of the conversation did not make sense. Those two made it seem like they were from another world completely.

He quickly went to find his Aunt Tian. "Can I ask you something?"

"Yeah." She gazed up at him while reading some report.

"Do you believe there are lives in other worlds?"

"I believe so."

"And... do you think they can come here?"

Tian frowned. "Why would they come here? This place is ruined."

"But accidentally. What if they crashed?"

Tian gazed up at him doubtfully. "What are you getting at, kid?"

Chen took a deep breath. "I believe... Sky is from another world. He is an alien that crashed into our world with his friend," he sat down exasperated. "That really explains a lot. He... he doesn't have a clue what was going on in this world. He had never met a zombie in his life, and his clothes... they looked clean and white.

It's the only possible explanation. He is an alien!"

Tian closed her document. "Then don't ever tell your uncle Pe about this. Then that young man would end up on an operating table in pieces."

"That's all you have to say. He is an alien. A live alien!"

"So? He won't eat us. But keep him completely isolated. He might be carrying some strange viruses. Oh, shit, we had contact with him too. We should also isolate."

Chen paled. "I'll make preparations. Anyone who got close to him will be isolated in gas chamber rooms."
