38 Chapter 38: Tang Yusheng (2)

"We can't accept this!"

"Accept it, please," I assured them, my resolve unwavering. However, they continued to express both denial and gratitude, feeling unable to repay such generosity.

"There is no need for repayment," I insisted. "Allow me to grant you the opportunity to bid farewell to your son. Rest assured, as an Elder in the sect, I possess the power and authority to protect and guide him."

With that, I respectfully exited their home, providing them the space to have a private conversation. I understood the weight and significance of parents allowing their child to embark on the path of cultivation. It was a perilous journey, but they held onto the hope that their son would achieve greatness, breaking free from the confines of their remote village and its meager existence.

The discussion lasted approximately ten minutes, and Tang Yusheng emerged from the house, his face marked by the traces of tears.

"Are you alright?" I inquired, concerned for his emotional well-being.

"Yes, it's just that goodbyes are never easy. Nevertheless, I am eager to embark on this journey to the sect!" he replied, his voice tinged with anticipation.

Before doing anything else, I made my way toward the hidden cave underneath by well, taking all the things inside and placing them in my Spatial Pouch. The spiritual spring included! I filled a lot of buckets with it because why not!

Also, Big. F, my fish, went inside a bucket as well, as I wouldn't let him behind.

Only then did we depart from the village, and Dai Guiren assured me that he would personally deliver the key to my farm to Tang Yusheng's parents. While my flight spell could transport both of us simultaneously, the reduced speed resulted in a significantly longer journey to the sect.

"Whoa! This is incredible!" Tang Yusheng exclaimed, his eyes wide with awe as he gazed upon the breathtaking scenery unfolding below us. "I never thought I would have the chance to fly. It feels like something out of legends!"

As we soared through the skies, the journey to the sect seemed to pass quickly amidst Tang Yusheng's excitement and wonder. He marveled at the vast landscapes, the winding rivers, and the majestic mountains that stretched out beneath us. I took the opportunity to share with him some insights about the sect and the cultivation path that awaited him.

"Tang Yusheng, the sect life is both challenging and rewarding," I explained. "You'll undergo rigorous training, face formidable opponents, and encounter countless opportunities for growth. But with determination and perseverance, you can achieve great things."

His eyes gleamed with anticipation as he nodded in agreement. "I'm ready for it, Elder Tian Li! I want to cultivate and become strong, not just for myself but also to protect and bring honor to my family and village."

I smiled, admiring his resolve. "Remember, true strength comes from within. It is not just about cultivation levels but also about character, wisdom, and the ability to make the right choices. As your mentor, I will guide you on this path."

Eventually, we approached the sect's towering gates, guarded by formidable disciples. They recognized me as an Elder and welcomed us with respect, their gazes lingering curiously on Tang Yusheng, the new addition to our ranks.

Entering the familiar grounds, we made our way towards the main hall where the sect's Patriarch, Sun Liang, awaited our return. The bustling energy of the sect filled the air, with disciples engrossed in their training and various activities.

Sun Liang's eyes brightened as he saw us approaching. "Ah, Elder Tian Li and Tang Yusheng, you've returned! I trust your journey was fruitful?"

I bowed respectfully. "Indeed, Patriarch. Tang Yusheng is ready to embark on his cultivation path." n./o/(v./ε-(l(.b(/1-(n

Sun Liang nodded approvingly, then turned his attention to Tang Yusheng. "Welcome, young disciple. May your journey in our sect be filled with growth and enlightenment."

Tang Yusheng bowed deeply, expressing his gratitude. "Thank you, Patriarch. I am honored to be a part of this esteemed sect."

With our return officially acknowledged, Sun Liang addressed the gathered disciples. "Attention, everyone! We have a new disciple joining our ranks. Let us welcome Tang Yusheng and offer our support as he begins his cultivation journey!"

A wave of applause and cheers erupted throughout the hall, echoing the enthusiasm and camaraderie that characterized our sect. Tang Yusheng's eyes widened in awe at the warm reception he received, feeling a sense of belonging in this community of cultivators.

As the excitement settled, Sun Liang turned to me. "Elder Tian Li, it's good to have you back as well. We shall discuss matters in detail later. For now, settle back into your role and continue to inspire our disciples."

With that, I nodded, feeling a renewed sense of purpose and dedication. Tang Yusheng and I found ourselves surrounded by fellow cultivators, eager to offer guidance and share their experiences.

But I was well aware that the friendly and cheerful demeanor of the disciples was largely influenced by the presence of both me and the Patriarch. In reality, the sect was a treacherous and competitive place, where alliances shifted and ambitions clashed.

"Alright, everyone, get back to your tasks. Let me handle the new addition," I asserted, pushing aside the curious cultivators who had gathered around.

I approached the Patriarch, and together we made our way to a secluded chamber within the main building. It was a sacred space where the Patriarch kept the crystal used to test one's innate talent and Qi element.

"Tang Yusheng, step forward and touch the crystal, please," I instructed.

Tang Yusheng moved towards the crystal, the very same one that had been used during the Elder competition. As his hand made contact with its surface, the crystal shimmered with a vibrant red-orange light, indicating that Tang Yusheng possessed the fire element in his Qi.

It was a remarkable discovery. The sect had a wealth of fire-based cultivation techniques and resources that would be a perfect fit for him. Additionally, his talent surpassed that of an average cultivator within the sect, even if he didn't possess the extraordinary genius often sought after.

"Tang Yusheng, you are a rare gem," Sun Liang exclaimed. "I am certain that under Elder Tian Li's guidance, you will flourish. Do you wish to become his disciple?" he inquired, turning to Tang Yusheng.

Initially, the idea of taking on a disciple had felt like a burden to me. However, as I considered the prospect, I realized the value of having a companion, a friend, and a potential partner on the battlefield.

Furthermore, Riverside had grown dear to my heart, and I made the decision to accept Tang Yusheng as my disciple.

"Yes, that's correct," Tang Yusheng replied eagerly.

"Very well," Sun Liang nodded approvingly. He handed Tang Yusheng the uniform worn by new disciples, along with a Fire cultivation art.

"As for your living quarters, you will reside in Elder Tian Li's cave. It is one of the many privileges you will enjoy as his disciple and friend," Sun Liang announced.

With newfound purpose and excitement, Tang Yusheng donned his new uniform and embraced the responsibility that lay before him. Meanwhile, I felt a sense of fulfillment and commitment to guide and nurture him on his cultivation path.

Master got a disciple it seems...

I cannot wait to ask him to bring me crickets, and do everything I want!

Also, in case anyone is reading our story, a special thanks to all of you.
