Volume 2 - CH 3

Volume 2: Red Girl

After Master was stripped of his title as a Sage, I trained even harder in magic.

I still can’t use the ~Light Heal~, but I have about ten more spells that I can use. According to Master, I seem to be learning faster than other people.

It’s all thanks to my two great teachers.

Master Gory teaches me magic from a human’s point of view, and Serena teaches me magic from a spirit’s point of view. They teach me with great kindness, so I can learn magic fast.

I am also grateful for my mysterious… magic power.

If I hadn’t been cursed in the first place, I wouldn’t have this special magic power.

Oh, yes. Of course, I’m also working hard on my special training on other aspects.

“Callus! Ten more to go, go for it!”

“Hi…. hi….”

Sweating all over, I desperately wielded a mock sword. Although its blade is dull and cannot cut, its weight is no different from that of an ordinary sword. It’s too heavy for me, who didn’t lift anything heavier than a spoon in my bedridden life.

“Eugh… Heugh…. 10!”

Soon after reaching my quota, I fall to the ground.

Hii……Hi…… Isn’t this a little too spartan, don’t you think?

“You did great, Callus! Okay, let’s take a little break.”

“Hai…….”

Now that Brother Damien gave his permission, I laid down on the spot and regulated my breathing.

Shizuku immediately came and gave me a glass of water.

“Thank you……, it’s a big help.”

“Of course, no problem.”

I then poured the cold water into my mouth with great gusto.

Did she prepare this by calculating the break timing? If so, she is a super maid.

“Haaaahhh, I’m back to life.”

“You look tired, are you all right? You shouldn’t push yourself too hard…”

Shizuku asked with a worried look on her face.

She may have a pensive face but she’s actually really kind.

“Thank you for the concern, Shizuku but I’m fine. I may be tired, but it feels good.”

“I see. But if you feel any pain, please let me know right away.”

“Yes.”

I thanked Shizuku and then approached my Brother.

My brother should be swinging a 100 times as hard as I am, but he doesn’t look tired. I can’t go that far, and I’d really like to have more strength and stamina.

“… Mu. You’re here.”

My Brother suddenly muttered as he looks out of the mansion.

Who in the world is coming?

I looked in that direction and saw a carriage slowly approaching from the distance.

I wonder how he could notice it from so far away. Is there some kind of trick to it? Or is it wild intuition?

“The sound of those wheels…… heh, you’ve got a new carriage. You vain bastard.”

“You can tell by the sound!?”

I can only hear the sound of the wind, but Brother seems to be able to even compare the sound of the wheels. He’s more than a wild animal, isn’t he?

“Callus can do it too, if you train your muscles enough, because the eardrums are muscles too.”

“I don’t think you’ll find that fact in any book…”

Brother Sirius often calls Brother Damian a “muscle head,” and I think I now understand why a little.

But no, I respect him.

“Well, joking aside. There’s a guy I know riding in that carriage. He’s a business associate of mine, and I was lucky enough to have a vacation with him, so I invited him over here. He’s a nice guy, and I hope you’ll be friends with him.”

“I’m looking forward to meeting him.”

The mansion is seldom visited by people other than servants and family.

It is one of my few pleasures to hear what the occasional visitor has to say about the outside world.

“Oh, right. The one I work with knows that Callus is a Prince situation…, but the other one doesn’t know that, so be careful.”

“The other one?”

Apparently, there are two guests.

That’s fine, but why haven’t you told me about the other one?

“Well, that’s the thing…., they’re already here. So, I’ll leave that for you to see. Follow me.”

After confirming that the carriage has arrived at the entrance of the mansion, Brother headed in that direction. I wiped the sweat off my face and followed him.

“I don’t like the narrowness of the carriage. It’s faster to just walk.”

A man with flaming red hair, who got off the coach, said those words. He was probably a swordsman given that he carried a sword on his waist.

He looks normal at a glance, but the fighting aura exuding from his body is amazing. Maybe he is a great swordsman.

“Callus, let me introduce you. He is my business partner, Sieg, the ‘Sword Saint’.”

“E, Sword Saint!?”

I was surprised to hear my brother say the words “Sword Saint.”

It’s a title given to only a handful of swordsman. It’s basically a swordsman’s version of “Sage”.

“Hello, it’s nice to meet you.”

“It’s a pleasure to meet you, too. I’ve heard a lot about you from His Highness Damian. I’ve always wanted to meet you.”

……I wonder what my Brother is saying about me.

I’m worried considering how careless my Brother usually is with his words.

“Oh, right. I have to introduce someone to you too. Come on out.”

As Mr. Sieg says this into the carriage, another person gets out.

“Is this our stop, Daddy? Hmmm…… it looks like a rather spacious mansion.”

The one who got out was a girl with the same red hair as Mr. Sieg.

She is about the same age as me. She has a very pretty face, but she looks… strong-willed. I’m not sure if I’d be good in dealing with her type of person.

Mr. Sieg then brought her up to me and introduced.

“This is my daughter, Kris. She’s a bit of a tomboy, but I’d be happy if you could get along with her.”

“Y, yes… I’m Callus, nice to meet you.”

When I greeted her, she looked at me as if she was pricing me out. And then…

“…… you look weak. Maybe you should work out more?”

She was very rude to me. Her father, Mr. Sieg, scolds her for this attitude, but it doesn’t seem to be making much of an effect on her.

This is a bad sign for the future… haha.
