38 End of Five hundred years
A pair of emerald eyes shone in a wormhole and the thumping of his heart got to his ears, revealing his disoriented state.
'Lia,' he uttered softly, but there was no reply.
'Lia!' He hollered internally, but the result remained the same. Forced to accept his situation, Cristian finally realized he floated in a wormhole and a strange force drew him toward an unknown destination. novE(lB.1n
Negative emotions flashed through his eyes. For the first time, he wanted to kill someone from his world.
It was Deliliah's boyfriend who purposely did it, and he could see Deliliah's lips spread into a smile as he got sucked into the void.
His only wish was Sheila left them for him. This was the payment he got from searching for a friend.
His resolve to find Alessia slowly crumbled, for Delilah's actions struck deep into his heart. Shattering his thoughts about others he knew.
While it had just been days for him, others had gone through two entire months, and with the world turned upside down, it was like a year.
'Has she also changed?' he asked inwardly, while her face flashed in his head. He had strong doubts that Alessia forgot him. She might be searching for him at this moment.
Even when his death was certain, she stayed close. why would she leave now? Not everyone was like Delilah.
Unknown to Cristian, Delilah was a complex woman who liked him but saw too many cons, which made her stay behind the line of making them a thing. But now he was back, a reborn man with two women beside him, and her heart boiled with anger.
If Cristian couldn't be hers, then it was best he died.
Lia said he was going to appear in a dimension outside the reach of Eternity and he should complete the quest quickly.
'I just hope the quest is not to slay a celestial creature or something along that path.'
Deep in his thoughts, he caught a shadow from the corner of his eye and turned. Curiosity became fear as he realized it was the shadow of a gigantic beast swimming alongside the wormhole.
The shadow looked like that of a whale, but the size seemed endless. His eyes widened and unknowingly, he had stopped breathing.
'What tier is this behemoth?' he screamed inwardly. Cristian almost had a heart attack when its eyes were bigger than a ten-story building opened.
The irises glowed like a rainbow and the fast-moving wormhole suddenly vanished, leaving Cristian stuck in a dark endless space, but luckily he could still breathe or it was this behemoth gazing at him that kept him alive.
"I'm pretty sure you could find a bigger meal." he instantly bargained for his life, but the whale-like monster with a similar color to this dark space stared at him silently.
'Vladimir Ithuriel Athelstone. The time has come for you to accept the call of origin. As per the contract, the five hundred years have ended.' a lovely female voice echoed in his head.
Cristian was pretty sure that it was this behemoth speaking to him and its voice didn't match its intimidating looks.
There was no need to clarify anything when he knew he was Vladimir, but he couldn't remember signing any contract and something told him his past self had no memory of this.
'Since you have-...'
Cristian didn't care if interrupting this monster would make it angry. His life just took another dive. Right now, he preferred going to whatever dimension that wormhole took him to.
"Wait! Give me another hundred years." he bargained and the reply he got boomed.
'NO!' his head almost exploded in the next second as a sonorous voice echoed.
Without a need to turn, Cristian knew another behemoth floated behind him and that conclusion made him gulp.
'Ithuriel, you have no choice and we are just messengers, but I hope you survive.' The female before him spoke softly, and Cristian reluctantly accepted his cruel fate.
"And what if I don't survive?" he stared at the enormous eyes of the unknown beast and queried, but she wasn't the one who responded.
'Then we have to find another in about a few million years,' the male behind him replied, and a wormhole appeared beside Cristian.
But unlike the other, which did not have any color, a sinister red smoke drifted out of this one, and the aura alone made his spine tingle.
As his body got closer to the wormhole, the male behemoth spoke in a soft tone for the first time since their conversation.
"Please survive.... I'm tired of being a messenger."
The last words shattered any warm feelings Cristian had for the monster that almost blew his head.
'I hate this.'
Cristian grimaced, got sucked into the wormhole and it vanished.
"I think it was a good choice not to tell him that the mark never leaves," the male said to the female behemoth.
"He would figure that out if he dies. I can't believe Origin is soft with him. It was never the same with that woman," the female replied, and her eyes flashed with the image of a woman in white.
