Chapter 63 - Do A Test

They finally arrived at the motel to stay for the night, the boat will be starting to operate on 9:30 am from the jetty to the island. After Jamal gives the motel's keys to Raymond, Brian and Luna they then parted to their room.

Luna staying with the kids and the guy staying in their own motel's room. After showered, Luna put the kids to bed. It is a routine for her to either sing a lullaby or read a story for them before going to sleep.

After Luna's done reading them a story, Alex then turns to his side and says, "Mama..do you know who is the uncle who joining us today?" asked Alex while playing the edge of Luna's long hair with his small finger. He wants to know but he also knew that his mama probably won't tell him the truth.

Lily at Luna'sleft side grunts a bit. She's a little bit jealous of Alex. At least Alex's father is still alive and he can have a perfect family if mama chooses to be with that man, but she...

She long knows about her real mom who died after she gives birth to her. The reason why her mother died is that she was hit by one of her father's competitive or so they told her, since then, the only mother she had is Luna. If Luna decides to have her own family, she probably will be left alone without a mother.

Of course, her father's love had no boundaries and he will do anything for her, but..ever since she was a baby, Luna was the one who nursed her and she would hate the fact that one day she would have to forget about her. What if Luna has another baby girl and Alex gonna have a new little sister aside from her, will they forget about her later?

Luna dumbfounded a little, she caresses Alex's cheek and pinches his nose a little. "Why'd you ask? Are you interested to know about him?"

Alex nodded. "Umm.. don't you think we have a quite similar face?" He just wants to give his mother a little hint, that he knows about that man's identity.

Luna squinting her eyes, "Really?" She acts like she was surprised to hear that, even though she knew they both have a similar face.

"Yeah..we have the same eyes color and if that uncle shrinking a bit, I bet he would've have looked just like me," Alex said, convincing his mother.

Luna laughs softly. "If you think that way then, I guess, when you grew up, you'll be a very handsome young man. Now, let's sleep, dear. We have a long day tomorrow."

"But-"

"Mama.." Lily links her little hand on Luna's arm, blinking her eyes a few times hoping that Luna will give attention to her.

"Yes, dear?" Luna smile while turning her head to the girl.

"Can you sing us a song?" She smiles cheekily.

"Oh..you want me to sing you a song?"

Lily nodded her head, while Alex rolled his eyes. He knew Lily just wanted to distract his mother from talking about his father. Well, he just let her do what she wants as he is also a bit tired. Maybe he could get the answer if he asked directly to the man in the question itself. With Luna singing the lullaby song to them, they fall asleep not long after.

Luna kisses them on the cheek after they were asleep and turns off the lamp as she also wants to rest her eyes and mind.

The next morning,

Before they went to the Jetty, Jamal brings them to have breakfast first at the nearest food court. It is quite close to the Jetty, actually. They decide to fill their stomachs first before going for the ferry ride. The crowded in the food court make them have to share the table and 'reserve' 1  it first before they went to buy their breakfast at the stall.

Alex sits near Raymond and Lily sits at the opposite of both of them while Luna, Brian, and Jamal go buy some breakfast for them and Raymond looks after the children. Brian won't let Raymond get close to Luna, but Brian forgot that Raymond at least got close to his son, or so that he thought.

Alex looks around and sighs before he took one piece of his hair strand and shows it to the man sitting beside him, immerse with his phone since after they check out from the motel. Probably regarding his work matter.

Alex inhales and says, "Here." Alex waves his finger which holding his fine hair.

"Huh? What's that?" Raymond looked at the boy with a questioning face before he looks at the thing between the boy's finger.

"Take this and do a test. I won't be offering you more than this." Alex grabs his hand and puts the hair on his palm.

Looked at the hair, Raymond scrunched a bit. "Are you sure? What if your mom found out?" he tests his guts. But, inside his heart, he was a bit amazed by the boy's way of thinking.

"Hey, I just want to help you to ease your curiosity. That's all. And my mama shouldn't know about this. You have to promise me." He said without looking at him, but, looking at his mother's direction. More like guarding up to make sure his mother doesn't see what he's doing right now.

Chuckle, Raymond takes out a small plastic zip bag and puts Alex's hair in the bag. "Alex.." He calls her name,

Alex averts his eyes to the man for a second. "What?"

"Don't you think you're a bit odd for a child in your age?" Now he feels worried about his son.

"So what?" He lifted his eyebrows to him.

Lily laughed hearing Alex's respond and then she continues to play with her doll, like usual. That makes Raymond taken aback with his reply. 'Yup, these kids sure is odd.'

"Hm, back to business, what's your deal? You must need something from me too, am I right?" Raymond took a guess while squinting his eyes a bit to the boy.

Alex shrugged his shoulder, "Nothing much. I just want to know the truth."

Hearing that, Raymond sighing and ruffles his hair gently. "That's what I wanna know too buddy."

Alex frowned and turn his head to the man, looking up to him with a bit surprised "You mean, you don't know what happened too? What are you? A block of wood?"

"Hey, that's harsh. But, really...I don't know what happened, that's why I'm here." He smiled a faintly to him.

In Malaysia, (not sure about other countries) you have to find a table first before you went looking for the food.

If you come with a group, you have to let one of your friends stay at the table or place something that indicating the table is reserved, if not, you'll have to wait for an empty table which is quite hard to find especially in the peak time.
