"All participants, please hold your bucket carefully and do not release the sea turtle baby yet. Wait until I start counting to three. Okay…ready everyone!" The event crew cheerfully said to all the kids with their parents who hold the bucket at the beach, ready to release the sea turtle baby into the sea.
It makes it look like a race between the baby sea turtle to watch which sea turtle first goes into the water. Because Lily and Alex volunteering to be the participant, Brian and Luna had to split into two teams and Raymond also got squeeze into Luna's team when the announcer asked Alex where's his father. He casually pointing at Raymond at the side of the line for bystanders to stands there.
That makes Brian and Luna looked at each other. When Raymond standing next beside Luna with Alex at the front, Jamal takes the opportunity to secretly take the picture using Raymond's camera.
"You ready Alex?" Raymond squatted down and peek inside of the bucket. There's a sea turtle baby inside, looking scared.
"Yeah." Alex focuses on the waves that hit the shores. He feels a bit worried about the little creature inside the bucket. He read about the sea turtle life fact which only one from thousands of babies will survive in the vast ocean until they are fully adult.
Will the little creature inside his bucket will live long enough? Can it survive at the sea out there?
Raymond can read his son's expression, he then put his hand on his shoulder and look at him. "What name should we give him?" He smiles at the boy, tries to ease his uneasiness.
"Um…why do we have to name him?" He squinted his eyes to his father.
Luna could hear their conversation as she also wants to know why he wants to name it?
Raymond then averts his eyes to the little sea turtle inside the bucket, touch its soft scale using his index finger gently. "If we meet him again one day, we know how to call his name. He also can introduce himself to other sea creatures so that they would get along and help him on his journey."
Luna smiles when hear his explanation and she also bends her body down, looking at the little creature inside the bucket, "So, what kind of name you have in your mind?" She asked Alex with a soft voice.
Alex thinks for a moment and comes up with a name he thought he'll like it. "How about Moss?"
Both Luna and Raymond chuckle to hear his suggested name. "Is it because it's green?" Raymond asked out of curiosity.
Nodded, Alex said "Yeah. It's good for him so that he can hide from danger."
Luna kiss on top of Alex's head. She then looks at Raymond before both of them nod their heads. "Alright, so this little sea turtle officially named as 'Moss'."
Just after she said it, the announcer then starts to count from one to three.
"Alright Moss, it is your time to go now. Be careful out there." Alex whispers to the little guy and when the count stops at three he releases the little sea turtle on the sand. Let it crawls from the beach sand into the seawater.
"Off you go, Moss.." Raymond also tries to cheer for the little sea turtle to start moving.
At the end of the race, Alex looks a little sad. He then hugs Luna's waist and hides his face from crying.
"It's okay, baby..he'll be safe out there." Luna softly stroke his hair and rub his back.
Raymond looks at him before he averts his eyes to Luna. She could only shake her head to the man.
Lily also feels a bit sad and Brian carries her into his embrace to which she easily hides her face into his father's firm chest.
"Baby..don't cry..let's hope they will have a wonderful journey to adulthood, okay?" Brian rubs behind Lily's back with gently.
It seems like other kids are all cheery, but only these two kids who feel upset. That is because they know the reality of life that sea turtle has to go through, unlike the other kids who don't aware of that fact.
Raymond then squatted down and tap on Alex's shoulder. "Come with me, I carry you and we get some fresh air before we return to the hotel, shall we?"
Alex then wipes his cheek with his palm and turns to the man, hangs his head on Raymond's shoulder as Raymond then carries him into his embrace.
"You know, Alex...I used to had a pet long ago, a dog. I named him Danny. He's a Great Dean breed." Raymond starts talking as he starts walking to the side of the shores, Luna at beside him also follow him walk with Alex on the beach.
"Is it big?" Alex asked.
"He is a super big dog. Bigger than you. And he kinda spoiled too."
Luna smile a little. 'Spoiled? Which part of him that make him spoiled? Everyone in the mansion afraid of Danny in that time and he only obedient toward us.'
"Is he..still with you?"
Both Luna and Raymond silent for a moment.
"No…he's…went to heaven when I'm sick. But, you know…I feel lonely when he's not around anymore. So, I know how you felt right now buddy."
Luna glance over to the man and she pressed her lips together. Holding her sadness, 'I miss Danny too. How I wish you will not remember how did he die Raymond..please, don't remember it.'
….
After dinner Jamal takes them to the beach bench area to enjoy the last night together on the island as tomorrow morning they will return back to the mainland and to the next destination.
Lily and Alex take one bench and lazily lying down while facing the night sky, meanwhile Luna, Raymond, Brian, and Jamal sit at two benches while Jamal ready with the guitar on his hand.
"Okay..we start with the one who got the marked block. He had to sing a song based on someone's expression or do anything that the next person instructs you to do." Brian started as he took out a Jenga box before he put it on the table in front of them.
"Ah~ Jenga. I never played this before. But I heard it's quite famous in eastern." Jamal's eyes look glittering with excitement.
"Wait…you never played Jenga?" All of them quite shocked with that statement and when Jamal shakes his head, the three of them already grinning at him.
"Good. We're gonna have fun tonight.." Brian said as he starts to build the tower after marking one block with a marker pen.
"Good luck, Jay." Raymond pat on Jamal's shoulder while grinning at him. Luna also holding her smile behind her innocent look.
