Chapter 171 - We Don't Need You

2019, August.

Sniffles, Luna wipe her tears with the back of her palm. "There, I've told you everything, do you believe me now?"

Raymond was totally in shock and still silent. He did not reply to her question, instead, he grabs her forearm. "I'm sorry." He pulls her into his embrace and whispers to her. "It took me so long to realize it and I've..hurt you so many times. I'm sorry."

Luna pushes his body and looked at his eyes, "You promise to let us go, so, I beg of you..let us go. I'll sign the divorce paper but Alex mine. I raise him alone all this time and we…" She stops her sentence before she averts her eyes and hoarsely said, "We don't need you in our life."

It's hurt Raymond deeply when Luna says that. He releases her from the hug and he looks so dispirited. His eyes formed a pool of tears that only wait for time to roll down. "Will you be happy without me?" He asked, trying to not sound so broken right now.

Luna nod her head. Not daring to look at the man's eyes.

"Alex.." Lily looked at the boy who suddenly stands up and wipes his wet cheek with his back of the palm.

"Lily, I've heard enough. I don't want to hear it anymore." His voice clearly shaking up and his body trembling a bit.

Nodded, Lily instructs Kiera to release the 'cage' they use to trap Alex's parent before she shutting down everything and runs back to the door, where Alex already waiting for her.

They went back to the lift where they were supposedly waited. "Are you okay, Alex?" Lily still worried about him.

Alex shakes his head. "No, Lily..I'm not okay. I'm so.."

"Oh, hey kids..what are you doing here?" Jamal who just returns from the mall looking at both of the children who wait for the lift. 'But wait, where's their parent? Where's Luna and Raymond?'

Ding!

The elevator door open at Luna's room floor, and Luna want to step out from the elevator but was grabbed once again by Raymond. "I have a request." He said.

Luna still not looking at him and she only nods her head. "What is it?"

"On this remaining day before I went back to New York, let me..once, being a father. I want to spend all of my time here with my son..and you.."

Luna bit her bottom lips while squeezing her eyes shut. "Will you let us go after that?"

"Will that make you happy? If yes, then... I will give what you want." Raymond said with firm and Luna nod her head. "You have your remaining day with us."

Only after that Raymond releases her arm and lets the elevator door close. They went to separate ways as Raymond returned to his room and Luna wait for the next elevator to open.

Raymond went to his hotel room and close the door before he slowly slumps down on the floor, against his body to the door. Feeling so hurt and useless. All of his emotions are now mixed and he broke into tears. He still not regaining any memory of the two years he losing it.

But he knew, Luna not making up all those stories either. Everything fell perfectly to their timeline and how did they all end up here. He doesn't know what to do, his regretful is beyond saving and Luna was hurt so much because of him.

Luna keeps wiping her tears and tries to not look like she was crying. 'It's okay Luna..it's the best for us. He'll let us go and we don't have to deal with those crazy family again. '

She keeps telling herself that it is okay to let him go. He doesn't love her anymore and she was happy with how her life now. When the door is open, Alex, Lily, and Jamal were in there and the kids look somehow sad too.

"Baby…" Luna tries to touch Alex's shoulder but he stops her hand, "I'm sorry mama..I need space." He hurriedly takes the key card from Luna's hand and runs to the hotel room while Luna averts her eyes back to Lily.

Lily had to pretend like they were fighting before just so that Alex will have his own time for now. "Uh, it was Alex who makes my doll roll out from the elevator and I kinda yelled at him."

Jamal was totally clueless and look at them confused. "Where's Mr. Ray?" He looks around, thought that maybe Luna was with him waiting for the elevator.

Luna tries to pull a smile on her face. "He went back to his room. He's a bit tired." She said and with that, Jamal nods his head and went back to the inside of the elevator.

"Well, then I'll see you guys tomorrow." He smiles at Luna and Lily before the door is closed and Luna walks back to the room with Lily holding her hands.

"Mama…are you okay?" Lily asked. Worried when she saw that Luna's eyes were a bit swollen and red.

Luna smile at her. "I'm okay honey... I just tired a bit and worry about you and Alex. That's all."

"Mama…" Lily stop and open her arm widely. Offering her a warm hug. Chuckles, Luna takes her offer and bend down before she hugs her dearly.

"Don't be sad mama…I will always protect you if you ever need me and Alex. We're smart and we're tough. We both love you, mama." Lily rub at Luna's back to which she tears a bit.

"Thank you, baby.." Luna replies and quickly wipe her tears again. He carries her on her arm and went to the room.

"But Lily baby..I'm okay..I'm an adult woman, I can take care of my problem.." She softly landed a kiss on Lily's cheek.

"I know..but sometimes…even adult make a mistake. We all human, mama.. we tend to make a mistake. It's okay to admit our own mistake and love yourself more."

Luna scrunching her eyebrow. "Sometimes, you talk like an adult.."

Lily giggles and hug her neck after that. 'Because I have a 'special' brain, mama..'

Luna opens the door and found that Alex already covering up his body with the blanket just like when she was sulking or protesting or sad.

She then slowly put Lily down and help her into the bed. Giving her a goodnight kissed and straighten up looking at Alex's bed. She slowly caressed the blanket bump which she believes was Alex's head.

"I love you, baby.." She whispers and kissed him before she went to the bathroom.

Open up her purse and took out a picture that she hides inside her purse for a long time.

It was a picture of when they took at the Cabin house. Where Raymond was kissing her cheek and she looks so happy at that time. It's really is her golden time with him.

November 2014,

Luna drives alone to Luray, Virginia state and up to the mountains where she goes with Raymond last year.

When she arrived, she was a bit surprised to see there's another truck on the driveway and the lawn look tidy like someone is taking care of this place.

Turn off the car engine, she slowly gets down from the car and went to the side of the house. There's a man figure at the backyard which now were cutting the grass and she thought it must be Raymond.

"Raymond?" She said and when the person turns around, she scrunching her eyebrow a bit. "Uh, who are you?" Luna asked.

The man also looks a bit shocked and he turns off the engine of the grass cutter. "I'm Wilson, and you are?"

Luna averts her eyes while showing the house with her finger which holds the keys. She opens her mouth want to say something but was interrupted by the man. "Are you Mr. Raymond's wife?"

Luna turns to the man and slightly nods her head. "Uh…yeah."

"Oh! Thank goodness. I was wondering why Mr. Raymond never comes here again after the last year. So," He stops and looks at Luna's belly. "Again, I'm Wilson and I'm currently the one who taking care of this property. Like cutting the grass and cut the wood and take care of the little garden back at the kitchen yard."

"Um..did Raymond pay you to do this?" She asked. As she remembered, Raymond never said that he hires people to comb around this house.

"No, no, no...I do this voluntarily. He saves my daughter's life once, so I figure this is the only way I could thank him. He's a nice guy."
