Chapter 282 - Something Is Wrong!

Raymond stares at the doc.u.ment on his hand. Thinking of the reason why someone put a lot of effort to make Ramona stay in prison. After a few days he trying to pull the case, Raymond finds out it was from CIA agent who gives the intel to Mexico's police department. And that agent gets the evidence from the real cartel boss in Las Vegas.

After a lot of thinking, Raymond finally decides to contact the person who put Ramona in prison. It rings a few times before the call finally connected with someone's voice.

"Caitlin speaking, who is this?" 

Raymond turned his body around and found that Luna was just walking into his office with Owen escorting her in. He smiles at his wife, beautifully wearing an ocean blue dress with a yellow beret on her head.

"Hi, it's Raymond." He replies back at the phone after a few seconds, and he lifts his finger to Luna. Asking her to wait for a moment, and Luna nod before she went sit on the sofa.

"Raymond? Oh! Mr. Wayne. What can I help you?" Caitlin asked. She was a bit nervous as to suspecting that Raymond probably knows about his child, Alex?

"Do you have time today? I would like to meet you. If you don't mind, how about dinner? My fiance and I will see you at eight tonight. Is that okay?"

Luna lifts up her head when she heard the word of dinner. She thought of cooking a new menu today, but since Raymond said they might have dinner with someone, maybe she can postpone it to another time.

Caitlin seems a little reluctant about his invitation. However, she still wants to know the reason why Raymond suddenly asks for dinner. He might have something he wanna say, isn't he? Or is it about Sarah?

"Mmm...Sure. Let's meet later." Caitlin finally agrees to meet him since Raymond also will bring his wife tonight.

After ending the call, Raymond walks to Luna and sit on the same sofa as hers. "You don't mind if we have dinner with someone tonight, do you?"

Shakes her head, Luna smile at him. "Who is that person?" she asked and saw that Owen already left the office after he put down some file on Raymond's desk. He might be busy since Liam took a leave for a week.

Sabrina said that they went back to her parents' house in another city. They have a family gathering and every work that need to be sign need to pass to Raymond for the final check for approval. Now, Raymond is twice is busier than before, including to investigate about Ramona's case.

"It's Caitlin. Sarah's step-sister." Raymond hopes that Luna will not misunderstand him. It's not like he invites her to dinner because of what happened to Sarah. But it's actually just wanting to know her purpose of setting up his sister. That's all.

"Caitlin? She's the one…who supposed to be engaged with Brian, isn't she?" nodded, Raymond sigh before he rubs the bridge of his nose.

"Yeah..but, that's not the reason why I want to meet her tonight. It has something to do with Ramona, and I just want to hear her explanation. I hope you're not misunderstanding this, darling."

Giggles, Luna nod her head. "No, I won't. I didn't even say anything, and you jump into the conclusion that I will misunderstand? Darling, I'm not that kind of wife who easily gets jealous."

Chuckles, Raymond, touch her cheek softly and caress it dearly. "Let say that I've learned my mistake from the past...I don't want to lose you again, so I will tell everything to you. Everything."

Held his hands which caressing her cheek, Luna kiss it softly. "I've also learned from my past that I should trust you more. I don't want us to be separated again. After all of this done, let's start a new life. I want us to be free again..like just when we both still…"

"Mmm.." a sudden kiss from Raymond make Luna startled a bit. It's last for a few minutes before he let her off to breathe. Huffing, Raymond whisper to ear, "It'll end shortly. I promise you."

James Mansion, Nevada.

Pang!

"Ack!!" Barbara shouts in pain. Her vision is starting to fade out, and her head feels heavy with a warm thick liquid dripping from her forehead. No one dares to save her from that man. 

'He wouldn't act like this. Something is wrong! What is it??!!'

"You….I gave you time to solve the problem, what did you do?? Idling and let those reporters make fun of my name? My reputation??!!" James grasps Barbara's hair with his bare hand and pulls it with force. Making Barbara squirm in pain and fear.

"I…I am still working on it. James…what happen to you? You…you never hurt me like this. What..what did I do??" She tremblingly said while crying and holding the pain she felt right now.

James scoffed before he's laughing hysterically. "Heh...What you do, huh? Do you think I don't know what you did to me for years, Barb?? I also know what you did to Daisy so that she'll leave me. Hey, tell me…who's crueler? Is it you? Or me?"

Barbara gasp before she shakingly turns her head to the man who is still pulling her hair from behind. "You…you…knew?" her eyes feels like its gonna pop out from its socket because of the shocked.

She was a woman who had a big desire regardless of being born from a commoners class. She ready to do anything just to climb a higher place in her younger life. Including being a mistress and wreck someone's marriages.

To make sure James forgets about Daisy, she even uses a drug to make him forget, and after years of using it..the humanity in him has been gone. He's born into an evil person. He starts to feel so much joy by killing another person. Doing so many bad things. That's what she does to James. Turning him into a total devil.

Laughing, James smiles widely before he releases his hand from pulling her hair. "Of course I knew, Barb. Do you want to feel how it taste? Fine! I let you taste your own medicine, Barb! You're my favorite wife, after all. You've done so much for me so that we can stand here now. I may let you live longer if you obedient."

"No! James! Please…don't do this to me!" She's crawling and holding James' legs. Begging him to not give her the drug. It was a bad idea for her to comes to James's secret place today.

Ever since the hotel's incident that day, James never returned to the main mansion, so she decided to find him, and who knows that he will treat her like this? He even dares to hurt her, and now, he decides to kill her??

What? What is it that drives him this crazy? He must have something precious he hides that he even doesn't care to discard her and her daughter!! But, what about Raymond? He loves Raymond because Raymond is his biological son, right? 'I can use Raymond to escape.'

'Yes…I should call Raymond!'

"Bring her to that room. Put her with a strong dose." James didn't even care to look at Barbara. For him, as long as he had Alex…everything will return back to him.

That brat, Sky, is out of the list right now! There's no other suitable heir except Alex, and he also a genius from the Gen-X creation. He must be worth a lot! Haa! About Mike, it's easy to erase that baby from his sight. Just like what he did to Doctor Fang's family years ago.

'Soon! Yeah, soon…everything will be mine.' he laughed while seeing Barbara being dragged by his men. The floor is stained with her blood, and it makes him laugh even louder.

From the slits of the door behind the hall where James was standing, Alex saw everything that happens.

Starting from a simple argument between them until how James smack Barbara's head with his golf stick. He heard everything, and it somehow makes him shiver a bit.

"I have to find a way to get out of here," he mutters it slowly and looks at the outside of the window. It's nothing out there except the house at the center of nowhere. He could only saw the desert and small bush. This house is guarded with many guards, so it's not easy for him to get out of this place.

Alex put his hand inside his pocket and check on the card that Sky gives it to him. He believes that the card is the only way out and a way to reach Lily. For right now, he prays that either his father pops up somehow like a magician in here or Lily sends someone to rescue him.

Either one of the options is okay with him as long as he's not staying with that old maniac. Seeing how brutal he hit his wife, Alex couldn't think of how bad he might do to his mother later.
