CH 127

Name:Debuff Master Author:
Siegfried and the Nordic Marines plowed through the Immortal King’s forces like bulldozers, and the main driving force behind this fearsome charge was none other than Siegfried.

“I’m placing a circle,” he said before activating his debuff fields.

“Let’s gooo!”

“Chaaarge!”

“I’ll kill you guys over and over again!”

The Nordic Marines swept through the debuffed undead monsters, and the result of the charge was simply astonishing.

Siegfried earned an absurd amount of Experience Points by simply placing his debuff fields.

This was only reasonable since the Nordic Marines found it extremely easy to slaughter the undead monsters that snapped like rotten twigs after getting debuffed by the Debuff Master.

Siegfried could finally learn new skills after reaching Level 150, and the names of his new skills were called ‘Elemental Shower’ and ‘Seal Damage’.

[Elemental Shower]

[Cast to summon a debuff field that significantly decreases the elemental resistance of the enemies standing on the field. The reduction increases the higher the skill’s level.]

[Seal Damage]

[Cast to summon a debuff field that significantly reduces the Attack Power and Magic Power of the enemies standing on the field. The reduction increases the higher the skill’s level.]

Elemental Shower and Seal Damage truly deserved to be Level 150 skills.

‘Let’s try them out.’ Siegfried immediately placed the two new debuff fields, and the results were jaw-dropping.

Siegfried mustered his lightning attribute and unleashed them at the undead monsters, and the monsters on top of the Elemental Shower debuff field were instantly ‘deleted’ from the game. Moreover, the number of Nordic Marines who fell in battle was significantly reduced after he placed the Seal Damage debuff field and greatly weakened the undead monsters.

The Immortal King had no blood nor veins, but his blood pressure shot up after seeing his legion getting slaughtered by the humans.

- T-Those insolent…! How dare they do that to my beloved soldiers!

The Immortal King felt like he was going crazy when he saw the number of his troops getting shaved off by the thousands every minute.

However, that wasn’t the end of it.

His undead forces were getting crushed like sand castles, but those damned Nordic Marines seemed to be getting more resilient as the battle progressed. On top of that, the huge swing in the tides of the battle explosively increased the morale of the Nordic Marines.

The Immortal King instinctively knew that he was in a bad spot.

‘I can’t just sit around and let this continue,’ he thought as he gripped the magic sword in his hand and made a decision, ‘I should get rid of that greenhorn first.’

He could no longer sit around and watch when even his advanced undead soldiers were falling down one by one.

Whooooosh!

The Immortal King activated his flight magic and flew toward the front lines where the undead monsters and Nordic Marines were fighting.

***

‘Something’s incoming!’ Siegfried sensed something powerful flying toward them.

Whoooosh!

The Immortal King was flying toward them at high speeds, and his robe fluttered as he zoomed through the air.

[Immortal King]

[Level: 299]

The Immortal King was only one level short of Level 300, while Siegfried was only Level 150. This meant that their level gap was almost two times. In addition, every Level 300 creature would acquire great powers enough for them to be considered on the brink of becoming Masters.

The single level between Level 299 and Level 300 was the boundary between a Master and a Non-Master, but the Immortal King was just one level shy of becoming a ‘Great Wizard’.

‘Should I have come sooner…?’ Siegfried wondered.

- Hey, greenhorn.

The Immortal King called out as he aimed his magic sword engulfed in ‘ghost flame’ at Siegfried.

‘Hmm?’

Siegfried did not hear what the Immortal King had to say because the magic sword in the latter’s hand caught his attention.

[Magic Sword of Vengeance: Avenger]

[Soul Extract: Extract the souls trapped within the magic sword to explosively amplify the user’s abilities with rapidly decaying HP and Stamina while the ability is active.]

Surprisingly, the magic sword the Immortal King was wielding was a gift from a demon lord, and it was probably the reason why the magic sword’s options were extravagant enough to distract Siegfried.

Of course, the HP and Stamina decay every thirty seconds whenever it was equipped was a huge penalty, but if he somehow found a way around it, then…

‘I want it!’ Siegfried exclaimed inwardly with sparkling eyes.

The magic sword Avenger was an item any gamer would want if their class had darkness-type skills. In fact, they would probably be willing to even change their entire class into a darkness-type swordsman if they could get their hands on Avenger.

Unfortunately, greed completely blinded Siegfried.

“Die, kid!” the Immortal King swung his magic sword at Siegfried.

No, he tried to swing it, but he couldn’t do it.

Flinch!

The Immortal King suddenly flinched and shuddered as he muttered, “M-My life vessels…!”

He shuddered as felt the destruction of one of his life vessels.

***

Three hundred years ago, the Immortal King lost one of his life vessels after losing to the Nordic Sword Master, Vlotron. However, his life vessel didn’t get completely destroyed. It split into several pieces and scattered throughout Fadlan Island.

Three hundred years later, someone helped the Immortal King resurrect, and upon resurrecting, he immediately split his life vessel into four pieces. He hid three of them across Fadlan Island, and he used the last one as his current physical body. This was a type of insurance just in case something happened to him in battle.

However, the cunning Siegfried and smart Michele weren’t the types of people who would simply pass on such a golden opportunity.

“If someone who died three hundred years ago suddenly returned to life, then that could only mean that his life vessel was somehow reconstructed, right?” Siegfried asked.

“That seems to be the case, Your Majesty. I am certain that someone helped the Immortal King come back to life,” Michele replied.

“I think so, too, but where do you think the Immortal King’s life vessels are located?”

“It is possible that he split them into multiple pieces and kept them somewhere safe, do you not agree, Your Majesty?”

“Should we form a search party? I don’t think it will be that easy to find them…”

All of a sudden, Hamchi shouted. “Hey! Owner punk!”

Hamchi was currently in a cage designed for pets. It was his punishment after giving the Nordic Beauties those perverted dreams. It was the price he had to pay for dragging his master’s public image through the mud.

“Let Hamchi go! Then, perhaps I will think about helping you find that numbskull’s life vessels!”

“Really?”

“Hamchi is really good at finding those kinds of things! Sniff…! Sniff…!”

“Hmm… You don’t sound so convincing…”

“Have you been scammed your entire life? Kyuuu!”

“Alright, why don’t you give it a shot? I will give you a whole packet of sunflower seeds for every life vessel you find.”

“Deal.”

Hamchi was able to negotiate for his release in exchange for helping Siegfried find the Immortal King’s life vessels.

He used ‘Meerkat~!’ around Fadlan Island and searched every nook and cranny of it diligently.

Siegfried gave the task of destroying the Immortal King’s life vessels to Oscar and Seung-Gu, Lionbreath and his royal knights, and Sword Emperor Betelgeuse.

Then, the three teams fought their own battles through the undead monsters that were placed by the Immortal King to safeguard his life vessels. All of this happened before Siegfried clashed against the Immortal King.

Obviously, the first one who managed to destroy one of the Immortal King’s life vessels was Sword Emperor Betelgeuse.

“Hoho, look at this lump of evil energy,” Betelgeuse said with a leisurely smile.

He instantly broke through the hordes of undead guarding the dungeon, where the Immortal King hid his life vessel, and made it all the way in front of the altar where it was being kept.

However, someone stood between him and the life vessel.

It was none other than the Fifth Disciple of the Church of Osric, the Purple Cardinal, ‘Linverse’.

[Linverse]

[A sorcerer of the Church of Osric in charge of resurrecting the evils of old. He specializes in resurrecting powerful evil beings that were vanquished in the past, and he is using his abilities to help the Church of Osric wreak havoc and chaos throughout the world.]

[Type: NPC]

[Race: Human]

[Level: 260]

[Rating: Boss]

[Class: Resurrector]

[Affiliation: Church of Osric]

[Position: Fifth Disciple, Purple Cardinal]

“Who are you to interrupt the church’s—” Linverse asked.

Flash!

However, a ray of light interrupted him.

Then…

Shwaaaa!

Thud… Roll…

Linverse head rolled on the ground as his headless body wobbled around while spewing blood from the headless stump.

Sword Emperor Betelgeuse’s Quick Draw took Linverse’s life.

“How dare you act all tough in front of me, the Sword Emperor? Keke!” Betelgeuse scoffed at the insolent cardinal lying dead in front of him.

The Purple Cardinal, who was a Level 260 character, was nothing but a fly in front of the Sword Emperor, who was already a Master.

Betelgeuse was a manservant in front of Siegfried’s master, Deus, but no one would dare to look down on him throughout the continent.

After all, he was the Sword Emperor, Betelgeuse.

***

The moment Sword Emperor Betelgeuse crushed one of the Immortal King’s life vessels...

[Immortal King]

[Level: 269]

The Immortal King instantly lost thirty levels, and his level dropped from Level 299 to Level 269.

- …!

The Immortal King immediately attempted to cast a magic spell. He couldn’t waste his time fighting this kid in front of him because he had to prioritize the safety of his remaining life vessels.

‘Why isn’t my magic working…? I’m sure I cast it just now…?’ he wondered.

For some reason, the Immortal King couldn’t take flight despite casting his flight magic.

‘Again!’ the Immortal King tried once again, but the result was the same. He flew around fifty centimeters off the ground before instantly dropping back to the ground.

‘What’s going on? Why is my flight magic not working? Wait a minute… What is this intrusive wave? Something is interrupting my magic and disrupting my flow of mana. Wait, don’t tell me…? Is it coming from that kid?!’ the Immortal King immediately turned toward the ‘kid’.

His keen sense and sensitivity toward mana as a magician allowed him to instantly discover the culprit who was interrupting his magic.

Wooooong…!

The kid’s body was emitting numerous waves that interrupted his spells. It was none other than the Wave of Oppression.

“Where do you think you’re going?” Siegfried asked with a smirk before saying, “Why don’t you play with me? Come on, let’s play~”

He then dashed toward the Immortal King at breakneck speeds.
