Chapter 636

The sound of cannons from the coalition forces signaled the start of the battle.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Hundreds of cannons fired one after the other, and the sight of it could only be described as awe-striking. The fire spat out by the cannons illuminated the battlefield, and the shells flew like meteors as they made a beeline for their targets.

“Stop firing!”

The cannons were ordered to cease firing after the first volley.

Sseuuu...!

The smoke rising out from the hundreds of cannons formed a thick black cloud of smoke, effectively hindering the coalition forces’ visibility.

The battlefield blanketed by the thick black cloud of smoke was awfully quiet.

“Did we get them all...?” one of the soldiers muttered.

Thud! Thud! Thuud!

However, the sound of boots reverberated in the air, and the cloud of smoke eventually receded.

“...!”

The coalition forces soldiers were shocked after looking in the direction of the Capucines Territory. The reason they were so shocked was that the rebels were rushing at them without showing any signs of slowing down.

“Waaaaah!”

“To God be the glory!”

“Glory to God!”

“We will not die!”

“We are immortals!”

“God will bring us back to life if we die, so just fight!”

The rebels rushing at the coalition forces were a mixture of men, women, elderly, and children. They were in no way an army and were just a bunch of civilians charging to their deaths.

Unfortunately, they were deceived by Count Arial and ended up becoming his zealots.

However, what surprised everyone was the speed at which they charged at the coalition forces. They were so fast that nobody would believe they were just ordinary people two weeks ago.

“Three! Two! One! Fire!”

“Fire!”

The coalition forces unloaded their cannons once again at the oncoming rebels, but that was not the only preventative measure they prepared. The Guardians provided air support by dropping bombs on the rebels.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Boom! Boom! Boom! Kaboom!

Thousands of mortar shells rained down on the ground in front of the city walls, just like a meteor shower.

This was the main reason both Siegfried and Count Arial were in a standoff for the past two weeks, as the first one to attack would be on the receiving end of this meteor shower-like artillery barrage.

“I-Impossible!”

“Oh my god!”

“What in the world is this?!”

The coalition soldiers were shocked after seeing the rebels once again.

Why?

It was all because the rebels had Super Armor, allowing them to charge through the barrage of shells.

“My soldiers.” Count Arial floated from the center of the rebel army, brightly shining with all of his glory. There were dozens of mirrors circling him, seemingly his shields. “Believe that you will be victorious! Fear not your enemies, for I am with you! Go forth and fight! Death has no hold over you!”

The rebels’ morale skyrocketed at Count Arial’s speech. They braved through the cannon barrage and rain of arrows. They rushed through the dangers and eventually reached the defensive lines of the coalition forces.

Baaam!

The rebels crashed into the defensive lines of the Temple of Holy Myrmidon Knight Templars.

Bam! Bam! Bam!

The knight templars from the Temple of Holy Myrmidon raised their bucklers, which were their trademark gear, and swatted the rebels away. Then, they raised their long one-handed spears and skewered the rebels through their chests.

“Aresta! Awoo!”

“Awoo! Awoo! Awoo!”

“Aresta! Awoo!”

“Awoo! Awoo! Awoo!”

He snapped his fingers and vanished into thin air. The next moment, he appeared right in front of Count Arial’s face—no, he did not appear out of thin air. He was just there as if he had been standing there the entire time.

“...!”

Count Arial was both shocked and baffled by the strange phenomenon, but he didn't have the luxury to stew in his own shock.

Whoosh!

Cheon Woo-Jin swung his fist, which was glowing bright red like molten steel. His fist unleashed a tremendous amount of energy as it made a beeline for Count Arial.

Boooooom!

A thunderous noise similar to the sound of a mini-nuclear bomb going off echoed throughout the battlefield. The sound was loud enough to shake the entire battlefield, and it almost tore apart everyone's eardrums.

***

“W-What?!” Siegfried was shocked by the massive explosion that Cheon Woo-Jin had triggered. The amount of energy unleashed by the explosion could only be described as massive, and he could even feel his skin tingling from the aftermath of the explosion.

“He can dish out that much damage...?” Siegfried muttered in complete disbelief. He had a feeling Cheon Woo-Jin was strong, but he did not expect him to be this strong.

Well, if only damage was taken into consideration then Touch of Death, which was arguably one of Siegfried’s most powerful offensive skills, was far stronger than Cheon Woo-Jin's attack just now.

Touch of Death was a powerful skill that transcended the realms of physical damage, as it would even decimate the target’s soul.

However, Cheon Woo-Jin's skill was so powerful that it would be stronger than a Legendary Class’ ultimate skill.

Surprisingly, it turned out that it was still too early for Siegfried to feel shocked.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Boom! Boom! Boom! Kaboom!

Cheon Woo-Jin didn't give Count Arial any time to breathe as he dashed toward the middle of the crater, where Count Arial was located, and unleashed a barrage of punches with his incandescent fists.

His skill, Mistral Fists, carried so much force that every punch unleashed a thundering blast.

Cheon Woo-Jin was like a human artillery. He not only possessed a powerful area of effect skill that most magicians could only dream of using, but he was also capable of unleashing extremely powerful punches as well.

“H-Hey! He’s overpowered!” Siegfried exclaimed, completely salty at what he was witnessing.

However, it was a stretch to call Cheon Woo-Jin "overpowered."

Why?

It was all because his true powers came from giving quests to Adventurer as the Quest Maker, and the "charges" he'd obtain whenever the quests were completed were what gave him power.

In other words, he had the distinct disadvantage of not being able to use his full power for three hundred sixty-five days like Siegfried.

“That’s too overpowered... He’s cheating... I didn’t know he would be that strong,” Siegfried grumbled despite fully knowing the characteristics and weaknesses of the Quest Maker.

“...!” Siegfried noticed something amiss while he was staring at Cheon Woo-Jin throwing punch after punch at Count Arial.

He listened to his instincts and looked around. Then, he immediately froze.

Why?

‘Why the hell is he here?’

He froze because Count Arial was standing seven meters away from him and was staring straight at him.

“Hey! Cheon Woo-Jin! He’s not there! He’s over—” Siegfried shouted, but he couldn't finish his words.

“It’s futile, Adventurer.”

“Eh?”

“Prepare yourself to accept God’s wrath.”

Count Arial was still in the middle of eating Cheon Woo-Jin's knuckle sandwiches, so how come he was here—just seven meters away from Siegfried?

Moments later, Count Arial standing seven meters away from Siegfried took to the air and got ready to go on the offensive.

‘If he’s there, then who the hell is this?’ Siegfried doubted his eyes.

“Siegfried van Proa. You, a mere Adventurer, dared to insult me, a god,” said the Count Arial standing seven meters away from Siegfried.

“Wow... I knew you were crazy, but I didn’t think you were this crazy...” Siegfried muttered in disbelief.

“I pity you, Adventurer. Why are you going against me when I’m merely trying to establish my laws in this world? How foolish can you be? It seems demons have clouded your mind and judgement. Those same demons are making you do all this,” Count Arial said. Then, his third eye opened and looked directly at Siegfried.

It was then...

“Die! You blasphemous heretic!”

“You will be punished by god’s wrath!”

“Prepare to face divine judgement!”

“I will rid this world of filth like you!”

The knight templars from the Church of Holy Water, which served the god of water, Aquinas, rushed at Count Arial after spotting him from afar.
