Feng Si had been suffering from a toothache for almost a week.

At first, it wasn’t too serious, with occasional dull and intermittent pain. He didn’t pay much attention to it, until one night when he suddenly woke up in pain. The kind of pain that spread from his mouth to his brain, pulling on his nerves, tormenting him all night. The usually lively Feng Si was completely subdued for the first time.

When morning came, Lu Jingshen decisively called the dentist and made an appointment for him, taking him to the hospital.

As expected, it was a wisdom tooth problem, and the position wasn’t very good. They were afraid that if they didn’t remove it soon, it would continue to grow crookedly and become more difficult to deal with.

Pressing his face, Feng Si found it a bit unbelievable. “I’m thirty years old and I can still grow wisdom teeth?”

“It’s not uncommon to grow wisdom teeth even at sixty,” the dentist replied calmly.

Feng Si closed his mouth, leaning back on the treatment bed, furrowing his brows, feeling listless.

Seeing him like this, Lu Jingshen found it unusual and reached out to touch his face, trying to comfort him. “It’s okay, once it’s removed, you’ll feel better.”

When Lu Jingshen withdrew his hand, Feng Si grabbed it. His voice was weak. “You can laugh if you want.”

Lu Jingshen shook his head.

Forty minutes later.

When they walked out of the hospital, Feng Si still had cotton in his mouth, and his face was a bit swollen. Sitting in the car, Lu Jingshen asked him, “Is it still painful?”

Feng Si closed his eyes and leaned back in the seat, murmuring, “Kiss me, and it won’t hurt anymore.”

If he could still flirt like this, it meant that he wasn’t in pain anymore. Lu Jingshen relaxed and started the car.

Today was Saturday, so he drove straight home and started to make porridge and soup as soon as he entered the house.

Feng Si hadn’t eaten much in the morning, and he could only eat soft food after having his tooth extracted, which was quite pitiful.

After busying himself, Lu Jingshen went to the living room and saw Feng Si lying on the sofa, already asleep, with dark circles under his eyes.

Lu Jingshen brought a blanket to cover him, then went to the study to work.

When Feng Si woke up from his nap, it was almost noon. Lu Jingshen was sitting on the other side of the sofa, watching TV with the volume turned down low.

Smelling the rich aroma of chicken soup in the air, Feng Si turned his head and finally felt a little more energetic.

Lu Jingshen turned around. “Are you awake?”

Feng Si said, “The chicken soup smells so good.”

“How do you feel now?” Lu Jingshen sat next to him, wanting to check the wound in Feng Si’s mouth. He held his chin.

Feng Si cooperated and opened his mouth for him to see. There was a bloody hole deep in the left side of his gums, looking scary and daunting.

Lu Jingshen frowned, but Feng Si suddenly leaned over and quickly kissed him on the lips.

Lu Jingshen was taken aback, his brows furrowing even tighter. “What are you doing? Aren’t you afraid of infecting the wound with bacteria?”

As he spoke, Feng Si kissed him several times in a row, laughing as he did so.

Unable to bear it any longer, Lu Jingshen pushed him away. “Behave yourself.”

He got up and went to the kitchen to check on the fire. Feng Si leisurely followed, and Lu Jingshen tasted the soup. It was just right.

Feng Si’s gaze followed him, and when Lu Jingshen put down the spoon, he coughed lightly and said, “You can only eat porridge and soup, don’t eat the chicken. Remember to take the antibiotics half an hour after eating.”

“Okay,” Feng Si nodded casually.

He thought Lu Jingshen’s excessive concern was quite cute, even though it was just a wisdom tooth extraction.

Lu Jingshen went to serve the porridge and soup and his phone screen lit up on the table, indicating a new message.

It was from the businessman he had met at the business dinner a while ago, who had come from the south. Because there was a possibility of further cooperation, they exchanged business cards, and the other party had contacted him several times afterwards. At first, they discussed business, but it gradually evolved into personal invitations. Lu Jingshen had gone once, but felt that the other party’s attitude was too enthusiastic, so he made excuses to decline subsequent invitations.

Today was no exception. The other party asked if he had time and sincerely invited him to go see an opera together.

Feng Si glanced at the message and chuckled. “Another person trying to make a move on you?”

Since Lu Jingshen came out publicly, there had been no shortage of men expressing their fondness for him, both openly and subtly. Lu Jingshen had gone from embarrassment at first to now even being numb to it.

Before, he wasn’t sure. After all, invitations for tea, meals, and golf could all be considered normal social activities between business partners. But going to the opera?

Lu Jingshen shook his head, not wanting to deal with it.

Feng Si smirked. “Let me handle it for you.”

“sure,” Lu Jingshen didn’t care. As long as he could get rid of the trouble.

Half a minute later, Feng Si handed his phone back, and Lu Jingshen glanced at it. His reply was, “Sorry, something came up at home.”

Lu Jingshen was somewhat surprised. This straightforward style of refusal was nothing like him at all.

“Don’t look at me like that,” Feng Si said, “It’s done.”

Lu Jingshen calmly put away his phone and said, “That’s fine.”

Feng Si smiled again. “Are you sure? Should I have done it differently?”

“The message has already been sent,” Lu Jingshen replied.

In the afternoon, they watched a movie together at home with a projector.

After the anesthesia wore off completely, there was still occasional pain. Feng Si slept for another while, and when he opened his eyes again, Lu Jingshen approached and touched his forehead with concern in his eyes. “You have a fever,” he said.

Feng Si closed his eyes and replied hoarsely, “It’s okay.”

Concerned, Lu Jingshen fetched a thermometer and tried it on him. It showed a temperature of over 37 degrees, indicating a slight fever.

Feng Si leaned back on the couch, listening to Lu Jingshen talk to the doctor on the phone. Watching him frown and relax from time to time, Feng Si couldn’t help but smile.

After hanging up the phone, Lu Jingshen sighed in relief and told him, “The doctor said it’s a slight fever caused by the wisdom tooth extraction, a normal phenomenon. Just continue taking the antibiotics.”

Feng Si reached out and pulled Lu Jingshen’s waist closer, burying his head in his arms, feeling too lazy to move.

It seemed like he was acting coquettely, but Feng Si did it naturally.

It was rare for him to show such vulnerability. Lu Jingshen’s fingers ran through his hair as he embraced him.

In the evening, Feng Si still had no appetite. He only drank half a bowl of porridge, and Lu Jingshen measured his temperature again. It had risen to nearly 38 degrees.

“If the temperature rises further, do we need to go to the hospital?” Lu Jingshen’s worries resurfaced.

Feng Si didn’t care much. “It’s not that high. The doctor said it’s normal.”

Lu Jingshen picked up his phone, intending to ask the doctor, but Feng Si stopped him. “Forget it, they’re off work already. Don’t be so nervous. I’m a grown adult; can pulling out a wisdom tooth cause me trouble?”

Reflecting on it, Lu Jingshen felt that his reaction was indeed exaggerated. Anything involving Feng Si seemed to cloud his judgment.

As he was about to put down his phone, the person who had invited him for lunch sent another message, this time with a photo of the opera scene.

“The performance was wonderful. It’s a pity you couldn’t make it. Hope we can meet next time.”

Feng Si made a sound of disdain. Knowing that the person had a partner and still sent such ambiguous messages, he thought the person either had a problem with their brain or their character.

Lu Jingshen didn’t reply; he simply deleted and blocked the person.

Feng Si reminded him, “Isn’t this the person you said you were starting multi-billion deals with?”

Lu Jingshen shrugged. “I don’t do business with people whose brains or characters are questionable.”

Feng Si said, “… Why do I feel like I’m becoming a jinx around you? Can you still make money like this?”

Lu Jingshen seemed to be becoming more impulsive. Last time, when someone tried to set him up as an escort, he refused to meet them again. Now, he directly deleted and blocked someone who was pursuing him.

Looking at him, Feng Si asked, “am I causing you trouble?”

Feng Si smiled and leaned closer. “Am I?”

Caught in the gaze of those smiling eyes, Lu Jingshen suddenly couldn’t speak.

Actually, he was indeed affected. In matters related to Feng Si, rationality often failed to prevail.

“It’s okay,” Lu Jingshen said, trying to sound casual. “Money is endless. I don’t need to cater to anyone’s whims.”

“Okay, as long as you’re happy,” Feng Si said.

“Are you happy?” Lu Jingshen asked him. “Were you feeling jealous just now?”

“Yes, I was jealous,” Feng Si said with a smile, reaching out to touch his face before standing up. “I’m going to take a shower.”

Lu Jingshen stopped him. “You still have a fever. Don’t shower.”

Feng Si’s gaze lingered on his face for a few seconds before sitting back down and pulling him closer, whispering in Lu Jingshen’s ear, “Alex, do you know the best way to reduce a fever? I taught you before.”

Lu Jingshen’s expression changed slightly. He remembered when he was sick and had a fever in Norway, what Feng Si did for him.

At that time, Feng Si had said, “You’ll feel better once it’s out,” and then pleased him with his hands. And indeed, he slept well afterward, and the fever was gone the next day.

Turning his head, Lu Jingshen kissed Feng Si’s cheek and pulled away when Feng Si tried to kiss him back. “Don’t kiss, there are bacteria.”

Feng Si insisted, “It’s okay.”

Lu Jingshen avoided it, refusing to let Feng Si kiss him no matter what. His hands roamed over Feng Si’s body, gradually pulling down his pants zipper.

Feng Si gave in and leaned back on the couch, letting him take care of him.

Lu Jingshen’s skills had improved a lot now. Whether with his hands or his mouth, everything was taught by Feng Si. But tonight, perhaps because Feng Si wasn’t feeling well, even though Lu Jingshen was already working hard and using all his skills, he still felt that something was missing, and there was a slight sense of dissatisfaction.

Lu Jingshen didn’t want to go too far, but in the end, he had no choice but to use his last resort and take the initiative.

It was Feng Si who was uncomfortable, but Lu Jingshen ended up with a flushed face and sweating profusely, holding Feng Si’s face and kissing his chin and cheeks repeatedly, still refusing to let Feng Si kiss him.

Initially just a joke, Feng Si didn’t expect Lu Jingshen to go this far.

At first, he could endure it, but later, he was also drawn in by Lu Jingshen’s seemingly sacrificial attitude, hugging his waist and pressing him closer, regaining control.

Finally, they took a shower together. There was no other way; covered in sweat, they couldn’t just sleep like that.

After calming down, Lu Jingshen felt a bit regretful and worried if he had gone too far. He measured Feng Si’s temperature again, and this time it had decreased slightly.

Feng Si smirked and said, “I told you this method works.”

Lu Jingshen felt like he was being fooled, “Is your toothache gone now?”

Feng Si covered his face and made a sound, pretending to be in pain. He said, “Ah, ah,” and then repeated, “It won’t hurt if you kiss me.”

Lu Jingshen leaned over, quickly kissed his lips, and firmly stated, “Just this one.”

Feng Si laughed and collapsed onto the bed.

Seeing him in such good spirits, Lu Jingshen finally relaxed completely, lying down with him and turning off the bedside lamp.

Feng Si reached out, wrapped his arm around Lu Jingshen’s waist, and snuggled close to his neck, whispering softly, “Goodnight.”
