Ye Fei didn’t think that Gu Ang would be able to come up with such nonsense. He had thought that since everyone was here, he could ask a little more politely and get a vague answer. He didn’t expect that… Gu Ang was a quick thinker, using his dad as a shield.
That was a wasted question. He should have known, Gu Ang’s mouth was really tough, no one could pry it open.
Bai SiNing was still in shock, “Brother Ang, you must be joking, how could you like Marshal Ye? You want to be God Ye’s stepmother?”
Ye Fei was sipping his water and almost couldn’t hold back his spit take. Bai SiNing’s got a lot of shit in his head, filled with fucking nonsense.
Gu Ang raised the corner of his mouth, “Marshal Ye is very nice, why can’t I like him? Besides, you didn’t say it had to be love, what were you thinking?”
Bai SiNing breathed a sigh of relief, “I get it, loving the father-in-law.”
“What do you mean?” Wei YangZe looked bewildered.
Bai SiNing shook his head and explained, “It’s that A’Ang likes God Ye and incidentally his dad, I get it.”
Gu Ang turned red in defense, “I didn’t say that.”
Ye Fei saw how embarrassed he was, and he was a bit impatient. He thought Gu Ang was still filled with concerns, and if he didn’t get over that hurdle, it was all for nothing.
Bai SiNing asked Ye Fei, “Then could I be the one to ask Lin’s question?”
Ye Fei nodded, “You can ask.”
Lin XiuYong exhaled and asked softly, “What do you want to ask?”
Bai SiNing had been frank, but now he was a bit squirmy, stammering for a while before speaking slowly, “I meant to ask, why are you being so nice to me?”
Lin XiuYong looked at him with an elusive emotion in his eyes, “Because you are… quite amusing.”
Bai SiNing was puzzled, “What do you mean?”
Gu Ang snickered, “Probably because you’re like a mascot, I can’t help teasing you.”
He knew that he couldn’t just come out and say that he had love entangling his heart, so he thoughtfully saved the situation for the person.
Wei YangZe was keenly aware that something was amiss, “Why do I feel that I’m quite redundant here? Forget it, I’m going to bed. I’m sleepy.”
Gu Ang popped up from the couch, “I’m off too then.”
“Let’s all withdraw, it’s quite late.” Ye Fei also got up and idly followed behind Gu Ang.
Several people said goodbye at the door of Bai SiNing’s room and went back to their own.
Gu Ang was right next door, opened the door with his head down, and headed inside. He was about to turn and close the door behind him when a pair of hands were placed against the side of the door, “Gu Ang.”
“Hmm?” Gu Ang dropped his eyes, not daring to look him in the eye. He thought to himself, Don’t mention any more of that stuff, it’s too embarrassing.
Ye Fei stood in the doorway propped up against it, melting himself into the night, “Why are you afraid to look at me?”
Gu Ang raised his eyes and bumped into a direct stare, answering a little sheepishly, “No, you’re too sensitive.”
Ye Fei stared at him and spoke slowly, “Is that so?”
The two looked at each other, indefinable feelings spreading, and neither spoke to break the mood. Five seconds later, disappointment flashed in Ye Fei’s eyes, “Don’t you have anything you want to tell me?”
Gu Ang played dumb, “What do you mean?”
The things he was hiding from Ye Fei could be too many to count on one hand.
Ye Fei fingertips slid down the doorway and landed on the handle, fiddling back and forth.
Eventually it was as if he was being thoughtful and closing the door for the person, “Forget it, go to bed, good night.”
Gu Ang leaned on the other side of the door and let out a long sigh of relief. He slid slowly down the door and sat on the floor, his eyes out of focus. He thought back to the scene before the divorce. Why divorce? It would be cruel to tell Ye Fei.
After Qin LeHe went crazy, he received his license and didn’t dare to announce it, secretly hiding the documents in his suitcase. Little did he know that the next day, he would be sought out by the insane Qin LeHe, “You married Ye Fei?”
Gu Ang had just returned home that day when he was blocked at the door by Qin LeHe, with sharp scissors in her hand.
Gu Ang ducked carefully, “Yes, I love him very much. Mom, I’m sorry.”
Qin LeHe sneered, “They say double A runs in the family, so it’s true. You and your father both make me sick.” She laughed and cried, her expression looking miserable and sad, “You’re here to piss me off, aren’t you? Don’t you think I’ve been laughed at enough? Do you know how those people outside laughed at me and insulted me and mocked me? Don’t you hear?”
Gu Ang panicked a little, he had thought that Qin LeHe had known they were together for a long time and wouldn’t react much. At this point it seemed that the whole double A cheating thing had stung her ego tremendously.
Qin LeHe knelt before him and begged, “Little Ang, get a divorce, mommy begs you. Give me one last bit of face, would you?”
Gu Ang pursed his lips stubbornly, “I could promise you everything, but I can’t do this one.”
Qin LeHe raised her voice, “I’ve begged you so much, why couldn’t you take pity on me? If they knew you two were married, they would laugh at me behind my back. Consider me cowardly, I can’t afford any more ridicule.”
Gu Ang had no way to agree, so he apologized over and over again. The two stalemated until late, before Gu Ang tiredly went back to his room and slept.
Qin LeHe gave him a sleeping injection and then locked Gu Ang into a secret room in the house. By the time Gu Ang woke up, all that was visible to the eye was the small, dark, lightless room. He began a seven-day-long stalemate and resistance.
Every day, Qin LeHe came to beg him for a divorce.
The matter was a hard and long ordeal for both.
Gu Ang didn’t eat or drink or respond, and showed his heart in the most stubborn way possible. He wasn’t willing to give up on Ye Fei when she didn’t know anything about him. But he didn’t expect that Qin LeHe would commit suicide. A short suicide note was left next to the dripping heart, ending her life with that pair of scissors.
She was crushed by her own fantasy, the gossip that followed the revelation of Gu Ang’s marriage, and put an early end to her misery. Gu Ang was let out of the chamber and was confronted with such a scene.
His eyes were filled with pools of blood, and the words on the suicide note stabbed at his heart. He was caught up in the inescapable remorse and guilt that it was the love he clung to that killed his mother.
He couldn’t talk about who was right and who was wrong, but the result had been horrific. Those scissors killed Qin LeHe and killed Gu Ang’s hope. He went to Ye Fei and tried to convince him to file for divorce.
Along the way, Gu Ang reversed and revisited his decisions, going back and forth, hesitating. But Ye Fei wasn’t there, and he found the document in the safe. It was an agreement that Ye Fei hadn’t had time to turn in, renouncing his succession to the Ye family headship and all succession rights. It was clearly written in the agreement that the Ye family was too large with various branches, Ye HongFeng alone couldn’t make the decision, and the Ye family side line was also watching.
It was necessary to ensure that the head of the family had a descendant before the family would consider passing all the power of the entire Ye family to someone. And the moment Ye Fei agreed to marry Gu Ang, they were already destined not to have children. He never told Gu Ang how much sacrifice he made.
Along with it, it destroyed the fruits of Ye HongFeng’s efforts. This agreement became the last straw; crushing Gu Ang’s last wavering tangle. This love that he insisted on keeping had killed his mother. He felt sorry for her. He was sorry towards Ye Fei and Ye HongFeng, too. None of them were wrong, it was the world that was wrong.
Too conformist, too set in their ways, a little paranoid, and ruthless. Their love in these archaic rules was fragile and drowned in the gossip. In order to fulfill their so-called selfish feelings, hurting a circle of people around them, such love, was it worth it or not?
The burden in Gu Ang’s heart was so heavy that he sat in the dark all day and night, never able to move past it. Each step of this one hurdle was a million feet deep. He thought about the long pain and had no choice but to give up. So after disappearing for ten days, Gu Ang filed for divorce.
There was no cause to leave yourself alone with the cause and effect of all your sins. Ye Fei resented him and hated him, and he accepted it all. And now that he’d crossed back, things seem to have changed direction.
Gu Ang had also been lucky that maybe this time, his and Ye Fei’s end could be different. But so far, with hormonal disorders and incomplete development of the reproductive cavity, even the doctors couldn’t confirm that after differentiating into Omega he could change back. Everything was unknown, and he didn’t dare try it again so easily.
The cost of trial and error was just too heavy.
—
The latter days on the airship were spent with Gu Ang deliberately avoiding people. But wherever Ye Fei appeared, he automatically flashed three meters away. Even the thick-headed Bai SiNing sensed that something was wrong with the two, but couldn’t put his finger on exactly what.
He just asked Gu Ang a few times why he hasn’t been seen with God Ye lately. Gu Ang digressed every time and changed the topic. Ye Fei didn’t actively seek him out anymore either, and the two of them felt like they were back in the time when school had only just started, tacitly keeping their distance.
The week passed quickly and the ship had just returned from warp sailing to normal flight. And in front of this ship, a huge light blue planet appeared in front of everyone. In the pale universe, it was like falling into a ball of ice, looking cold and detached. There was a faint circle of light beyond the planet, like it was trying to suck them into a mysterious world.
At this moment, it had been less than twenty minutes since the airship landed, and the ten students who had been sent to log in this time had already arrived in the main hall of the airship with Jiang RuiYuan for the final wait.
“Students, please confirm your mecha status one last time. We will be completing our landing in fifteen minutes.”
Jiang RuiYuan crossed her legs and half leaned on the stool, giving a final reminder to those present.
“After landing, as a rule, we wouldn’t resupply you and your mecha for a week. Getting enough supplies in an unfamiliar environment was also a mandatory lesson for you as students.”
Beep! Beep! Beep! Everyone was doing a final check on their equipment when the alarm suddenly went off.
The blood-red light kept sweeping across the room, giving the most striking warning to everyone present. A strong sense of urgency overwhelmed the crowd and foreshadowed a landing that would be less than peaceful, “The main body was locked on by an unknown source, more than ten interstellar missiles are traveling towards the main body… Interception system on. Interception success rate being calculated… Perfect interception success rate… 0%… Interception failed, please protect yourselves, officers.”
A series of electronic tones rang out in everyone’s ears like death playing a soliloquy.
Ye Fei sensed something was wrong and alerted the crowd, “Everyone get in your mecha!”
As he said that, he immediately put the hand-me-down sized mecha on the ground and pressed start. He threw his luggage on the mecha and got into the cabin. Through the hatch, it was confirmed that everyone else was safely inside their mecha.
Everyone’s mecha was custom made by Jiang RuiYuan, and after entering, even if the ship exploded, everyone could survive in space without dying immediately.
Gu Ang looked tense as he pressed his hands to the console, observing the current situation.
Lin XiuYong put on his glasses and examined the mecha with an expressionless face. He knew that during this outing, Lu ChangBai would definitely make a move, but he didn’t expect it to come so quickly, and it was a bit different from the expected plan. Could it be that, besides Lu ChangBai, there was someone else behind this?
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Soon a series of violent explosions went off in almost no particular order, parts splashing out of the bulkhead of the flying ship and sparks of desire to ignite everywhere.
“Ontology under attack, damage count in progress… Tally complete, ship injury rate at 64.8%… Awaiting further instructions.”
“Make a forced landing immediately!” Without hesitation, Jiang RuiYuan immediately gave the order to the airship.
“Forced landing initiated…” Just as everyone on the ship was stressing about the forced landing, outside the Ice Blue Star, the attackers were standing in front of a huge holographic projection discussing the battle.
“My lord, the ambush plan has been successful and the target has been forced to land on the Ice Blue Star.” A particularly shrewd looking man, bending slightly, reported back to the white-haired man petting the cat beside him.
“Good work, send the idiot lord the location of their forced landing and make sure you get me the target alive.” The white-haired man said absently as his eyes fell on the cat, his fingertips tracing the delicate fur.
The man cautiously warned, “Copy that! But my lord, why don’t we just shoot them straight up in space? With the saturation of our weapons attacks we would never let any of them get away.”
The white hair looked at the hastily fleeing crowd in the projection and was in a much happier mood.
Intent on lifting the adjutant, he casually explained, “Although the unencrypted message we intercepted didn’t explicitly say so, I went to look into it earlier, and guess who Red Flame Military Academy sent to quell the rebellion this time?”
“I don’t know, my Lord.”
“The top ten students in the Red Flame Undifferentiated Combat Games points this time around have some worthy goods inside. Ye Fei, the eldest grandson of the Empire’s top ten families, Gu Ang, the only son of the Empire’s highest ranking civil official, and presumably some brats from high ranking families.”
The man said, “So you’re trying to…”
“Do you have any idea how much money these men could bring us if they lived? It’s the Union’s business to fight the war, all we have to do was make enough money out of it.”
The white-haired man dropped the cat on the floor and walked around the room on his bare feet, “When the time comes, contact the Ye and Gu families privately and have them pay ransom for these two little brats back so I can buy my Lulu a full cat castle for my little heartless cutie.”
“…My Lord is wise.”

On the other side, because the ship’s power module was damaged, directly after entering the atmosphere, the ship exploded in the air like a bright firework. The unparalleled explosion drove a violent storm of wind that swept everyone into the center and scattered them in all directions. The crowd in the airship was like ethereal dust, scattered everywhere by the wind.
In the middle of the storm, Gu Ang controlled the mecha and forced it down into a cave. The powerful curling wind slapped some cracks in the mecha, and the incoming air currents broke off the mecha’s back, bouncing debris that hurt Gu Ang’s hand and back.
The mecha provided by Jiang RuiYuan was no longer advanced, but after all, it was just an ordinary high-grade mecha that couldn’t withstand such a toss.
Gu Ang drew a breath of cold air and opened the hatch to move to the ground outside. He found a clean shirt from the suitcase he had with him in the mecha, cleaned the debris from his hands and back roughly, and did a simple bandage. He tried to connect to the others’ mecha signals, but only a thin murmur of current remained, “Is anyone there? Please answer if you hear me.”
The cave never responded again, except for the intermittent sound of electricity. He got separated from the others. To be precise, it should be that everyone had scattered to various unknown locations. Everyone had to rely on their survival skills to get by and find another opportunity to rendezvous.
The bandage was a little rough and didn’t completely stop the bleeding. Blood seeped through the clothes wrapped around his hands, and Gu Ang wrinkled his brow in pain. Because of the injury to his back, he couldn’t sit halfway, so he had to find a rock and lie on his side.
Red Flame students had an accident and the school should send someone out to rescue them. But there was still a question of when exactly they’d be back.
This wasn’t the first time that Gu Ang had encountered such an in-flight accident.
In the midst of war, enemies abounded in ambush in the middle of the route, and there had been those who had waged great battles in the universe, so he was in a fairly calm mood.
Only, he didn’t know if it was the several injuries, but Gu Ang felt his body getting hotter and hotter. Even some of the smell of pheromone began to slowly disperse with the blood and waft into the air.
“Fuck, don’t tell me
I’m going into heat at a time like this.” Gu Ang couldn’t help but swear. Mostly because the injury had accelerated the blood and stimulated the hormones in his body, and he now felt unusually out of sorts all over. Gu Ang got up through the pain and rummaged through his suitcase to find the inhibitor. Before he came, he bought ten bottles as a backup just in case. It was just that after that bumpy ride, almost all of it shattered in the luggage, and only a small half of the bottle remained.
Gu Ang gritted his teeth and jabbed the needle into his skin, feeding what little inhibitor was left into his bloodstream. There was no way to completely suppress it, but it was slightly eased.
With the injury and the precursors of the rut, Gu Ang had become a little weaker. He was a little worried that if someone did target them one by one at this point, there was no way he could be anyone’s match. The cave was silent, except for his lighter and lighter breathing, and the stronger and stronger smell of white peach oolong.
Gu Ang laughed to himself, it would be no fun to actually die here. He ripped the button off his collar and closed his eyes slightly. Not noticing the faint flicker of the neck ring around his neck.
Ye Fei, who had just finished a forced landing, received a signal from the neck ring.
When XuanBird made this item, it incorporated a sensing system, especially for when the owner wearing the neck ring was in danger or in heat, and would quickly gather information to send out a call for help. And on the other end of the caller’s side, the binding was Ye Fei.
Ye Fei uncuffed his cuffs and clicked the watch on his hand to bring up a virtual screen. The screen showed that Gu Ang had suffered some injuries and was in danger of going into heat. Which meant that if someone found Gu Ang before him at this moment, the consequences would be unthinkable.
Ye Fei went back into his mecha, located the direction of Gu Ang and launched towards the signal point. The two men were forced to land not too close together, and it would take forty minutes to get over there. Ye Fei set the speed to maximum and, after turning on auto mode, rummaged through the luggage for gear.
In addition to the medical kit he needed on a daily basis, there was the mission gear he carried with him, the disguise machine, the pheromone masking agent, and the clothes he only wore to do missions. Originally, he thought that if Lu ChangBai made a move, he would use this face to fight against it, but he didn’t expect Gu Ang to have an accident first.
Gu Ang’s current condition was such that a medicated dressing was a must. Perhaps, he also needed a temporary mark. But recently Gu Ang’s deliberate distancing had put him back on the fence. Gu Ang should be less willing to go over with his usual face. Gu Ang, now, didn’t even want to see him. Was it, again, going to be someone else’s face? But how should he explain that this other identity also appeared light years away on Ice Blue Star?
Ye Fei thought about it all the way through, and finally rounded up a more plausible explanation.
When he reached the location, he hid the mecha behind the cave to finish changing his face, spraying himself with a pheromone masking agent, and changing into an outfit Gu Ang hadn’t seen before walking to the entrance of the cave with his medical kit.
It was getting dark and the cave was devoid of light and almost pitch black. Ye Fei walked carefully towards the inside, but after just a few steps inside, he caught the scent of white peach oolong. He narrowed his eyes and followed the smell inward, deeper into the cave, when he finally saw Gu Ang leaning against a large rock. He looked like he was asleep, lying on his side with his eyes closed.
Ye Fei stepped into a crouch and saw his wound oozing blood. The pheromone of the white peach oolong practically poured out, sweeping through his breath and down the seeping blood, releasing it with impunity. It was sweet and soft, with a heavy dose of seduction.
Ye Fei asked him, “Gu Ang, are you okay?”
Gu Ang responded vaguely, not opening his eyes.
“You’re burning up.” Ye Fei touched his palm and his body temperature was frighteningly high.
The wound triggered complications that, along with the rut, scorched the person. It left the handsome face bloodless, and even his lips turned white. Ye Fei saw the half-broken inhibitor glass bottle next to him, and it was obvious that Gu Ang had used every trick he could. However, it didn’t seem to be working particularly well.
Ye Fei’s fingers brushed up against his gland, and while Gu Ang wasn’t looking, he lowered his head and bit right into the soft flesh, quickly piercing it with his canines and ferrying the pheromone in.
Gu Ang woke up from the stab of pain in a cold sweat, opening his eyes to see that familiar yet unfamiliar face. His voice was cold to the bone and he lifted his foot to kick out, “Let go of me.”
Ye Fei pinned him down easily with his legs, not stopping his movements, just holding his hands firmly on his neck as he continued to jab his head sideways deeper. Gu Ang fought and struggled, feeling pathetically like a dried up fish. This was the second time, with his and its reluctance, that he had been marked by this man.
Ye Fei’s face flashed through his mind, and he blinked again, his eyes left only vacant. How heartbroken Ye Fei would be if he saw him like this. It was better not to be seen and let him destroy himself. Gu Ang had no strength due to the injury on his hand, so he dropped his eyes and opened his mouth like a small beast stubbornly trying to survive, and took a deadly bite on the shoulder.
He came down hard, with stubborn inviolable resistance. Not just anyone could come and violate him, even if the person seemed to be carrying extremely good intentions. He belonged to that person even if he wasn’t with Ye Fei, body and mind. Even in death, he would end his life with this body and soul, with silent love.
Through his clothes, Ye Fei felt as if his shoulder was bleeding, the gripped piece of flesh almost bitten off. He fought the pain and injected the last bit of pheromone into the gland, then gently lowered the man to the floor. The mark was the medicine, and Gu Ang’s fever promptly receded.
“Okay, loosen your mouth.” Ye Fei patted Gu Ang’s head.
Gu Ang lifted his leg and kicked the man away, his eyes guarded, “What are you doing here?”
Ye Fei was stung by the wary look, and felt at peace. His fingers pressed against the disguise machine, a little harder and he would return to his original appearance, so he eventually let go. Ye Fei covered the wound on his shoulder and looked deeply at him through a face that didn’t belong to him, “Don’t be afraid, I’m here to save you.”
Don’t you be afraid, I love you so much.
Because I love you so much, I’m afraid that one wrong move will result in a total loss.
Author’s Note:
It won’t happen again, I promise that next time he’s in heat, he will know it’s Ye Fei. Guang Guang isn’t far from becoming pregnant.
