96 Colorful Dots
Scouring through the forest on a large island in the middle of nowhere were two creatures. One demonic gorilla that shook the ground every time he jumped while the other was a humanoid demon that sat on top of that huge gorilla.
Different from Vera who could fly at high speed using her wings, Robus and Blake were forced to use their feet to travel through the forest.
And another reason that made the two’s journey back to the place where Blake met the group of humanoid demons not as fast was because Blake and Robus didn’t just run straight toward the location.
Blake didn’t want to waste his and Robus’ time by only running for more than an hour.
Every Time they met a creature in their path, Robus and Blake quickly finished them off and ate their souls.
Blake was very curious to know what made Vera wary and he was very eager to investigate it.
But in the end, Blake knew that the best thing he could do so that he could help Vera more was to get stronger himself.
Hence why he didn’t neglect hunting demonic beasts in the forest and eating their souls.
The duo spent about 2 and a half hours running and jumping around in the forest and also snacking on souls before they finally arrived at the exact place where Blake first met the five humanoid demons.
.....
He had also checked the place where he fought the 4 humanoid demons and the brownish demon, but he found nothing there, not even their corpses, as most likely some demonic beasts had gotten their mouths on those corpses that still had their meat intact.
‘Am I too late to investigate anything?’ Blake thought to himself.
It had already been a week since the incident happened and there were even no corpses left for Blake to learn anything from.
But still, Blake still wanted to try and decided to travel further.
He already came from one direction and didn’t find anything, so Blake decided to go the opposite way from where he came from and continued his journey there.
And this time, both Blake and Robus continued more cautiously as they would be stepping onto new grounds that they had never stepped their foot into.
Humanoid demons aside, the forest was still the home to countless demonic beasts that lived in almost every part of the forest.
The chance of Blake and Robus meeting another strong demonic beast that required more than just a few darkness bullets and Robus’ punch was not minuscule.
The ordinary demonic beasts that were only worth 1 until 4 souls that they met along the way were clearly not a threat to Blake and Robus.
But the demonic beasts that had 7, 8, or even 9 souls were clearly a threat that could definitely seriously injure either one of them even with the dark earth armor covering and protecting their bodies.
Blake would have to use a second realm spell if he wanted to have an easy time dealing with those strong creatures, which means that meeting one after another in a short amount of time was not ideal for him who needed quite some time to refill his nether after using a second realm darkness spell.
Instead of running and jumping at full speed like what they did before, Robus and Blake decided to use their own feet to walk and traverse the forest.
Blake had gotten off of Robus’ back since if anything were to happen, they would be battle-ready and they could respond to an imminent danger instantly without having to worry about dangering each other.
Of course, a step that Robus took was equal to several steps that Blake’s feet made and the gorilla walked behind Blake just so he wouldn’t outrun Blake.
The two of them had above average sense of hearing and sight, and both of them split the direction that they would cover since they would be able to be more focused and thorough in detecting any dangers or creatures.
This continued on for another hour before they both felt something was changing in the atmosphere.
And when the two of them felt the change, they simultaneously stopped moving their feet as they looked around every inch of their surroundings before meeting each other’s eyes.
“Isn’t it a little bit too windy here?” Blake raised his hand, feeling the sudden appearance of a noticeable wind current blowing on him.
“Rr.” Robus agreed, noticing his fur that was blowing in a certain direction.
The two of them had carefully observed their surroundings and found nothing out of the ordinary.
It was still full of roots, trees, bushes, and sometimes boulders.
‘Is it probably because a very strong demonic beast with a wind element was near here?’ A thought suddenly came to Blake’s head.
Remembering how a demonic bird that was worth six souls was capable of producing a wind tornado to uproot a small patch of the forest, thinking that a demonic bird that was worth 9 or 10 souls was capable of producing some type of skill that made the wind blow far away was not unthinkable.
Blake wanted to check whether there was really such a creature some distance from him. As there was probably a chance that he would be tasting a very tasty soul if he could defeat the said creature.
So Blake quickly told Robus what he wanted to do and spread his wings.
Robus then lowered his hand to the ground, his palm facing upward.
With such a huge palm being spread, Blake found no problem in getting on top of the palm, standing on his two feet.
“I’m ready.” Blake nodded while looking at Robus’ eyes and making sure he had run his nether through his wings.
Robus then returned Blake’s nod with a nod of his own before he put strength on his arms, swinging his opened palm upward with great strength.
Just like throwing a pebble, Blake’s body was easily shot upward, past the tree branches, then the tree leaves, up to the clear reddish sky.
When Blake reached the maximum height from Robus’ throw, his body began to very slowly glide downward as his wings held his body from falling straight back down.
And after gliding above the trees, Blake finally found the reason why he felt a refreshing wind blowing past him.
In his eyesight was an expanse of dark blue-colored sea that seemed as if it didn’t have an end even past the horizon.
Blake realized that he and Robus were currently near the sea.
But Blake’s eyes didn’t linger long on the literal dark blue sea for long.
Near the meeting point of the sea and the island where he was currently on, Blake saw dots of colors slowly, yet surely making their way toward the island.
“Robus! There’s something in front of us!”
“I will get closer to see it better!” Blake shouted as he redirected his wings so that he glided closer toward the sea’s direction.
Blake was thrown quite high up above the trees and he was able to glide quite far away using his wings.
And as Blake got closer and closer to the sea, Blake could finally see what those dots were.
And those colorful dots that he saw were actually sails.
And under those sails, were, of course, boats.
