224 Came From Hell

“What took you so long, dad?”

Those words left Jake’s mouth as he spoke to the police officer that entered the driver’s side of the car.

Jake’s broken foot seemed to have completely healed in just half an hour, a feat that was impossible for an ordinary human unless he used a magic potion. It could be said to be an expensive commodity, but not a rare one. As long as someone has money, they could easily get one from the magic association. And seeing his father was a police officer, it was not a problem at all for him to acquire one healing potion for his son.

“That dud wasn’t in the orphanage when we first arrived. But he foolishly came back and here he is.” The two talked to each other as if Blake wasn’t there and they continued chattering as the police then drove the car away from the orphanage.

“Just you wait, dud, you will be taught some proper manners after we arrive.” It was Jake’s last words before they turned silent and the car continued driving through the city, leaving the densely packed area, and going into the more rural area where buildings were scarce.

Even after arriving at the relatively nonurban area, the car did not stop moving only after 30 more minutes had passed and the group arrived at an abandoned factory somewhere in the middle of a large cornfield.

The factory stood all alone with no other buildings besides it, there was not even a street lamp that headed in the direction of the factory. From the outside, the rustic steel framework and dilapidated walls of the factory were almost completely dark if not for the moon and the stray lighting from the street lights located some distance away from it.

“We’re finally here!” Jake exclaimed as he excitedly got out of the car.

Blake was told to go outside by the other police officer, who seemed to be the colleague of Jake’s father, and the whole group, 4 people were now walking inside the abandoned factory, being almost completely isolated from the outside world.

.....

As they entered the dirty interior of the factory, Jake’s father fumbled over the wall at the entrance and soon clicked on the light switch. Instead of lighting the whole factory, the switch only turned on one light bulb above their heads.

That single light bulb could barely do its job, lighting the surroundings, it looked like a very old one, one that still had a yellowish hue on the light that it projected.

“You see, Blake, this factory had been abandoned long before we were born. And as you can see, there’s nothing around this building. There’s nothing here other than old machines. Not even CCTVs. So no matter what happened here, no one would be able to hear or notice anything.” Jake started speaking as he walked forward.

Without even opening his handcuff, the police officer shoved Blake forward, pushing him closer toward Jake while Jake’s father and the other police officer stood at the entrance door, watching the scene unfolding while also making sure Blake would not run away.

Blake kept his mouth shut all this time, he didn’t fight back when his body was pushed forward. And he didn’t say anything despite him already knowing how the situation would soon develop.

“You might learn a few tricks now, but without magic, you will still be a useless dud as long as you live!”

Jake then began saying the chants, moving the mana around him, and absorbing them inside his body when the chant was finished. Blake looked at all this with apathetic eyes, the sight of Jake’s hand glowing didn’t even move him or evoke any emotions from him.

‘They prided themselves on having the ability to use mana so much, saying they were the noble ones, the chosen ones that the world selected to protect it from dangers.’

‘But if that really is the case then… Is the world really stupid and braindead enough to select people like this to protect them from the so-called dangers?’

“Eat this!” Jake shouted as he dashed forward with all his might, his glowing hands left a light afterimage as he ran closer and closer toward Blake.

And by the time Jake was only about a foot away from Blake, Blake still did not do anything and just lets Jake’s fist enter the gap between his handcuffed hands, hitting straight to his abdomen.

‘Not like this retarded world that chose protectors that didn’t protect any shit other than their own ideals, at least the demon realm was honest. The weak ones will die and the strong ones will advance.’

“How does it feel, huh!? Do you like having your stomach punched? Just wait until I make you understand what it feels like to have your foot broken!”

Jake expected Blake would soon fall down on his knees as he wouldn’t be able to stand up after getting a full-powered punch from him in the stomach, but he didn’t see Blake’s knees buckling nor his body trembling. Instead, he only heard Blake’s next words.

“Shut up, bitch. Not even a bitch talks as much as you.”

“What did you say!? You dar-” Jake’s next words were forced back inside his throat as Blake used his handcuffed hands to choke the boy and lifted him off the ground.

Before any of the two officers could react, Blake slammed Jake’s body hard to the dusty cement ground, making sure the boy landed on his spine instead of his head to prevent him from having a quick instant death. Something that Blake wouldn’t grant to a scum.

Having his body violently jerked upward before then being thrown down, Jake could only gasp as the air inside his lungs was forced out, an otherworldly pain struck his back as his spine took the full brunt of his fall.

Forget about chanting another spell, Jake couldn’t even breathe properly as he continuously gasped for air even when Blake had left him alone.

Seeing his son had been knocked down, the police officer quickly made his way forward, using a single leap to cross the few meters distance, which was something easy for an adult human that had trained years using mana, having his body also enhanced by it.

“You dare, kid!?” The police officer raised his hand and threw a punch in Blake’s direction. Even without using any active magic yet, the speed of the punch was the same as Jake’s full-powered punch.

However, even with that kind of speed, Blake could only see it as a slightly faster punch and a very slow one if he were to compare it to the muscular humanoid demon.

“Yes, I fucking dare, old man.” Blake moved his handcuffed hands, making the officer hit his palms instead, doing not a single damage other than making Blake’s hand feel slightly numb.

“This thing is a hassle.” Blake clicked his tongue before he ran his nether through his chest.

It might not be currently visible due to the system’s disguise, but he knew that it was there.

Powering the runes in his chest with nether, Blake activated the dark earth armor, covering his whole body with dark earth, breaking apart the frail steel handcuff as his hand’s thickness doubled in size.

“What kind of spell is that!?” The police officer that was holding the tablet exclaimed as he saw Blake’s whole body was buried under dark-colored rocks. “Isn’t he supposed to be a dud!?”

“I don’t know. But kid, you’re not the only one who could use magic!”

Jake’s father then started chanting, and the mana around him began to tremble as they started moving toward him. He was about to use his own spell, a spell that was even stronger than the inexperienced Jake.

However, just when he was only halfway through finishing his chant, Jake’s father saw strange glowing symbols floating right in front of the boy’s hand.

Jake’s father was cautious of the unknown floating symbols that he had never seen before. But by the time he finished chanting and the mana had entered his body, the symbols had already disappeared into the air.

The police officer tried to sense the mana around him, more particularly around the kid to see if they moved towards the kid, but even after focusing, he couldn’t sense even a drop of mana entering him.

“Did you fail to cast your spell? Ha! You’re so cocky for being an inexperienced kid!”

“Let me teach you what it’s like to use a proper spe-” Jake’s father’s words were cut off as he suddenly felt an ominous feeling draped over him.

He had never felt this feeling before, but just like how he could feel the presence of the invisible mana gathering around him if he cast a spell, right now, he felt something, similar to mana, but had a sinister and unsettling aura, was gathering around his body.

“What the hell is this!?”

The ground beneath his feet then trembled for a split second before darkness tendrils sprouted from the cement ground, easily breaking through the building material as they made their way onto the police officer’s body.

“Yes, you are correct, these babies do come from hell,” Blake replied with a tone that told about the wide smile currently plastered on his face despite it being covered by the dark earth armor.
