253 Testing Out New Abilities (1)
“Brother!” Cyra called out the first second the swirl of nether that surged around Blake had died down.
Cyra was worried that she wouldn’t be able to see him again for a long time when she saw Blake disappear behind the thick black darkness barrier. And she even almost panicked and tried to burst through the darkness dome when she suddenly saw the darkness dome that held her brother inside suddenly had gotten smaller and smaller.
From its initial size that could easily encompass them all, the darkness dome had suddenly shrunk to the size where it could only hold one person inside.
Cyra was afraid that the darkness dome was trying to harm her brother who was still inside it.
If not for Vera noticing the darkness dome was getting weaker and the nether contained inside it seemed to go elsewhere inside the dome, which was a sign of a demon having its evolution, and telling Cyra that Blake had most likely finished his quest and currently undergoing his evolution, then Cyra would have really tried to blast open the shrinking darkness dome as hard as she could to save her brother inside.
Fortunately for Cyra, she didn’t have to wait for too long to be able to finally see a silhouette standing inside the thinning darkness dome. She couldn’t see any characteristics properly, but just from the silhouette, she was able to tell the person inside it was most likely her brother.
Happiness and relief were the first things that Cyra felt when she saw her brother emerging out of the darkness dome that had been sucked inside his body and she couldn’t help but to jump into his arms.
“Congratulations, brother!” Although she could physically feel his brother’s body was not as huge as before, or rather, she was not as small as before with her body having grown to someone in Blake’s age, she still loved the feeling of having her arms wrapped around Blake’s body while her head rested on his chest.
But now, Cyra felt that her brother had once again grown bigger and taller as her head was now barely as tall as the base of Blake’s neck and Blake’s body had also become fuller with tougher muscles albeit still not the same thickness as Robus’ muscles.
.....
“Brother, you grew taller again!”
“Thank you Cyra,” Blake nodded his head as his hand automatically went and rubbed the back of Cyra’s head. “And yes, it seems that I’m finally as tall as an above-average human adult,” Blake said as he took notice of his new body.
His limbs had gotten longer, his body had somehow felt sturdier than before, and the feeling of power surging inside him was also the highest it had ever been ever since he had become a demon.
He had already noticed these physical changes beforehand while he was still frozen inside the darkness elemental dome, so after making sure that these changes were really the same as the one he felt, Blake quickly checked onto the other things that he couldn’t feel or directly see when the nether enhanced his body in the evolution process.

Bloodline Power:
(High Darkness Demon) Monarch’s Covenant, Advocate of Darkness.
As a monarch, your subjects’ power will be your strength and your power will be their strength. You will be able to make a pact with another demon. You will get their elemental affinity and bloodline power, in return, their darkness affinity will be multiplied depending on how high your darkness affinity is. (2/4)
As an advocate of darkness, you will be given the ability to control the darkness element to some extent. Your wish will become a part of the darkness’ will and it shall not betray you.
(Earth Ape Demon) Dark Earth Armory
A variation of earth armory that had received a massive amount of darkness elements. On top of the ordinary protection you get from the original earth armor and the capability to make ordinary earth weapons, the darkness element would also enhance the defensive and offensive capability by absorbing some of the elements that were thrown into the armor and weapon to reinforce themselves.
(Fire Variant Demon) Child of The Dark Flame
A “Child of The Flame” variant that had been amalgamated with the darkness element. An addition to the original ability to control flames as if part of one’s limbs and being immune to it, the darkness element infusion gave the flames higher destructive and scorching power and also enabled a higher level of flame control for the beholder.
Quest:
+(Main) Descend The First Demon Realm And Reach The Second Demon Realm!
———-
‘Having a system is really a great help…’ Blake muttered as he began studying his new status screen.
Blake noticed how useful the system was in having a recap of his body’s abilities and capabilities since he realized that Robus, Cyra, and even Vera didn’t have the ability to do so.
Other than their apparent physical changes like their body size increasing and their whole strength growing, they wouldn’t be able to tell their exact improvements with numbers such as Blake could.
First and foremost, Blake noticed that his race now was apparently called high darkness demon instead of only darkness demon. He didn’t know what that entails, but down the list, he noticed that his own bloodline power, the one that he didn’t get from either Robus or Cyra, had been updated and received an ‘upgrade’.
‘Is this a new package of bloodline powers that I get for being a high darkness demon?’ Blake thought as he re-read the description of his bloodline power.
The initial explanation was still the same as the one from before, but the numbers that were written on the very back of the first paragraph changed from the initial (2/3 ) to (2/4) which means that Blake could now make two more covenants with other demons to share their abilities with each other.
Meaning that those demons would get their darkness affinity skyrocket while Blake would be able to use the affinity that those demons had.
Blake would definitely try to find demons with abilities that were worth making a covenant with.
If he could, he would find demons with all different kinds of affinities so that he would be able to use 5 different elements in his spells and rune formations, saving himself from having to find the blood of demons with different affinities if he wanted to make a rune formation of an element that he didn’t have any affinities with.
Blake would have to do some research first about the best affinities that he should get to complement his current ability since there are so many elements in the demon realm and 2 empty slots were definitely not enough to get them all.
However, for now, Blake was more focused on the second paragraph of the definition of his new bloodline power.
While the first one was called the Monarch’s Covenant, the second ability was called Advocate of Darkness. Without wasting much time, Blake quickly started reading the short explanation of the ability that the system gave him.
———-
As an advocate of darkness, you will be given the ability to control the darkness element to some extent. Your wish will become a part of the darkness’ will and it shall not betray you.
———-
The explanation was definitely short. It was only 2 sentences long. However, from those two sentences, Blake realized just how amazing the ability that he just got.
‘If this is really what I think it is…’ To confirm his own question, Blake then gently told Cyra to stand to the side first before he closed his eyes and began sending nether to the runes inscribed on his body.
He could feel the runes that resonated with the Advocate of Darkness bloodline power were connected with the runes that would activate the Monarch’s Covenant, so he sent his nether there and repeated the description of the second bloodline power again and again to solidify his mental picture of it.
The runes on his chest then lit up as he felt a minute change in his body. It wasn’t anything drastic, but Blake felt the nether in his body had become more docile, similar to when he activated the Child of The Dark Flame bloodline power.
Remembering how the humanoid demon did it before, Blake then began moving his nether.
