Ritor returned to the outskirt of Honeywich village with nothing. He can't find any animal to be hunted, even though his stomach is growling.
Perhaps he would find it if he looked further into the forest. However, his job is to protect this village. So, he can't be too far from there.
He sat on the ground, leaning against a large rock and looking at the evening sky.
His hands were itching to fight after days of doing nothing, but he couldn't go against his master's orders. Not after lord Vorn made such a huge sacrifice.
And, after days here, he realized one thing. His desire to destroy humans kept on waning.
The minotaur saw Lana and two women coming together while carrying a large pot.
Yes, because every day that woman accompanied him, Ritor didn't want to kill the humans anymore.
Smelling the delicious aroma from the pot, Ritor sighed. "I told you not to bring me any more food, didn't I?"
"But, since yesterday, you haven't eaten, right?" Lana smiled, placing the pot in front of the minotaur. "It just so happened that we wanted to cook more."
Ritor looked down at the pot containing long, thin yellow things smothered in a thick red sauce with chunks of meat.
"A wanderer taught us to make this, Sir Ritor," Lana explained excitedly. "It's pasta, something that just entered this region some time ago."
A sound of footsteps could be heard from a distance. They looked in a direction and found a pale purple-haired woman coming.
"You are lucky to have such kind women around you, Ritor." Emily smiled at the pot of pasta, then waved to those girls. "Hey, how are you, girls?"
Instead of greeting back, the three women were horrified to see Emily. One of them even asked. "W-what's with your eyebrows, Lady Emily?"
"Ah." Emily rubbed the part above her eyes that was already without eyebrows. "I just put on a new face, but the previous owner had black hair. So, I shaved my eyebrows. If it grows again, the color and shape will return to what I had before."
The women still couldn't accept Emily's strange face.
"I also brought gifts from lord Vorn." Emily handed two of Lana's friends a large sack, making them stagger. "This is his reward for taking good care of Ritor."
Per her master's orders, Emily took a portion of the contents of the demon chariot and gave them to this village. She left that thing some distance away from here. It was impossible to bring the army of undeads to this place. The villagers might panic.
"B-but we do it with pleasure, Lady Emily. We don't expect anything." One of them responded. "It's a token of our gratitude to Sir Ritor for helping us from the goblin cave...."
"It's all gold!" The other woman looked into the sack with wide eyes. "This can help the development of our village! Hey, Lana, look at this!"
However, Lana did not respond but looked down instead. Emily narrowed her eyes at that village woman, then glanced at Ritor, who had started to eat using his hands.
"Don't worry, Lana. I won't take Ritor." The supreme undead smiled, moved behind Ritor, and patted the minotaur on the shoulder. "I've already had sex with Lord Vorn as a sign of our bonding relationship."
Ritor choked so severely that some of the paste came out of his nose.
Lana's chin dropped, and her two friends froze. No one expected that bombastic statement except Emily herself, of course.
"It's that true, lady Emily?" Lana asked. Her breath began to falter.
Emily nodded. "You can confirm it to lord Vorn himself."
There is a reason why Emily gave such bold words. That is so that there are no wrong assumptions or misunderstandings.
Lana held the hand of the supreme undead with sparkling eyes. "I'll make you some pasta too, Lady Emily!"
The village girl ran like crazy while her two friends had trouble carrying the large sack.
"Hey, help us, Lana!"
Emily chuckled when Lana came back to help her friends. The undead supreme then sat across from Ritor, discovering that the fork in the pot had not been used.
"Aaw… You want me to eat this too, Ritor? So, you don't use this fork? You're so sweet." Emily smiled. "But don't worry, Lana is making it for me. So, finish this yourself."
Ritor didn't respond and just looked down in silence. He stopped eating.
Emily took a deep breath. "I apologize…."
"No need." Ritor interrupted the supreme undead's words. "Nothing happened."
Those individuals' eyes met each other.
Emily smiled again and said. "Okay, I'll keep my mouth shut, won't talk about it anymore."
Regardless of whether or not Ritor liked her, Emily didn't want to hurt the minotaur's heart any further.
"What about Lana?" Emily looked off into the distance. "She's beautiful and cares for you, Ritor."
"What did you mean?" Ritor started eating again, this time using the fork.
"Please, don't use your idiotness..."
"Could a creature like us be together with them?" Ritor interrupted the woman's words again.
Emily had opened her mouth to speak but had stopped it. Too many things would prevent the romantic relationship between demons and humans from working. One of them is their different body structure.
Demons and undead might still make sense. Basically, the undead were demons, but from a different source.
"So, why did you come here?" Ritor put the food back in his mouth.
Emily knew the minotaur wanted to change the subject, but she still responded, "I have orders from Lord Vorn to take you home."
She didn't expect the events just now to make her feel awkward like this.
"Why did Lord Vorn ask you to do that?" The minotaur frowned. "He can contact me directly to return to base, right?"
"Why not?" Emily chuckled. "That's how our lord is. He is very caring for us. Since he currently couldn't do this on his own, he ordered me to."
The sun is going down. The two beings fell silent even after Lana had delivered food to Emily.
This made Lana, who chose to stay there, become awkward and unable to talk.
"Ah, wyverns!" The village girl pointed at the two winged lizard-like creatures flying in the distance to lighten the mood.
Emily chewed her pasta and also looked at those dragon-like creatures. "Ah, I haven't seen them in a long time."
